It's that time of year /K/ommandos! Were we reminisce the years that have past and look forward to the new one that is now unfolding! And that includes thinking up of goals for ourselves to achieve this year! You have been thinking of how to become a better /K/ommando right anon?Anyway, I haven't seen one of these threads in a few years, so lets get one going. How do you rank against your fellow /k/omrades?Bonus points if you can add stories about your achievements. Also maybe its time to update the board? Add a few more,
>Build potato cannon over 40mm >Cut barrel to under 16 inches>Install pistol brace>Shoulder it>Unscrew and igniter in under 30 seconds>Install in truckI propose that yes this is try hard points farming technicalities but also /k/ enough that it should count.
When I first made one of these I scored 145.

>>64767547Hugo Schmeisser's involvement wasn't until about 1953, and he wasn't brought to Russia to redesign the AK, they had already settled on what it was gonna be, and the AKM isn't significantly mechanically different from the AK.(The rate reducer/out of battery safety was not his design).Rather, Hugo Schmeisser had decades of expertise with stamping metal, and they wanted him to lead the production development for the upcoming AKM, along with all kinds of other stamping tech they wanted to get a grip on.The AK was intended to be stamped the entire time, it's just that Russia didn't have the means to consistently and reliably produce the original stamped receiver, thus the machined billet receiver being deployed as an interim solution.>>64767555Those were the Sturmgewehr 45(m) or Gerät 06 guys at Mauser, who were a separate group of people developing rifles to compete with the Stg44
>>64767560Kalashnikov's prototypes worked, and if the stamped Type 1 receivers were actually properly manufactured they were basically the strength of an AKM receiver, but there were shortcomings in their industry making that difficult to do.Chinese AKs never had the rate reducer mechanism and they work fine too, so it's not like that is a critical design chase.

We have just seen the US carry out Operation Absolute Resolve, a flawless raid in Venezuela but there's so much more than what meets the eye.The fact that the Nightstalkers could just infil and exfil on gunships guns blazing is insane in the era of gay drones and MANPADS. They didn't even have to worry about the overall IADS. IR dazzlers or just shooting back was very effective against any fuckers that tried to get a shot off. More than half of the air assets in theater being SIGINT and EW just shows the importance of spectral dominance in addition to SEAD and as SEAD itself. It's obvious Growlers used their brand spanking new mid-band Growler pods to jam fire control radars, F-35s used their Barracuda suites, but what the EC-130H's were doing could be anyone's guess. But the power went out and that says something.

special forces troops are highly overrated
>>64766166Why would you want "peak murderers" with a drug problem as your generals? How does being good at killing civilians to cover up your botched raid make you good at organizing logistics for thousands of men or tailoring the means of your use of force to accomplish political ends?

UN peacekeepers should be armed to the tits. I'm talking tanks, artillery, jets, high training & standards for every soldier. Hell give them fucking nuclear weapons, arm every infantry man into high hell and train them into guerilla warfare & build emplacements. Then you take them, force them between two countries. And if either side tries to attack one another, you kill anyone approaching the border. You bomb bases near the boarder and shoot down any planes. And if they somehow get close to destroying this peacekeeping force, you nuke them.>But how do you fund it!You force everyone to do fund it. 0,5% of GPD from every country on earth, if they don't their government will face the wrath of the peacekeepers. Its a positive for more peaceful countries that don't want to maintain massive militaries due to lower military spending. This would also make the world much more stable which is good for making money as well.
>>64766111No you will get random soldiers from random countries who volunteered their soldiers for money or experience. Also who wants to die for the UN? UN peacekeepers from first world countries are willing to fight because they have some interest in preserving their dignity but the third world soldiers are just there for a paycheck. But more importantly who wants to die for the UN and why are you so invested in the UN?
>>64766111The UN answers to bureaucrats with conflicting interests AND only operates where they do by consent of the (official) parties involved. The only situation in which a UN peacekeeper would so much as raise their voice, let alone open fire, is if they are already taking very heavy fire and they'll die if they don't try fighting back.Unless it's a shithole in Africa, in which case the rules of engagement are "have fun"
>>64766111Also all the troops should be exclusively from Ireland
>>64767179One rare exception was Nordbat in kosovo who just ignored all orders from the UN and their own politicians and shot everything. Good times.
This requires creating an army that mogs every other army on earth. This force could then declare sovereignty over the entire world.>force countries to pitch in 0.5% GDPHow will you force them? I’m America, I say no. Now what?
There is nothing mechanically wrong with this grip.>one hand is going to take the recoil>recoil force is transmitted along the other hand as wellThis is useful especially for larger calibers or smaller shooters. With the stupid grip which is considered "right", the other hand simply doing nothing other than pushing the firing hand sideways.
>>64765672>There is nothing mechanically wrong with this grip.Wrong. It looks goofy as fuck. No man who fucks has ever held a pistol like that.
>>64765672> support hand placed behind a fucking fulcrumEnjoy your massively increased muzzle flip I guess> support hand compressing tendons, forcing you to flex firing hand to pull triggerAnd just literally everything about your shot being trash
>>64765672My boomer dad gripped his semi-auto like this a few times until I got him trained otherwise. The slide bloodied his thumb at one point and he didn’t do it again after that.
>>64765672sorry to hear about your anisomelia, OP.
Perhaps if you are using your other hand to protect your firing hand's wrist, you should move to a lower caliber or pick up heavy objects more frequently. Another good alternative would be to place the supporting hand in front of the firing hand like a normal person.
>got 5/8 groups at 100 yards instead of 3/8. Gotta rebed the action>Gotta use a $200 worth of cleaning equipment>Everything you do ruins the gun>Gotta use 50 different tools to mount a scope>Stock flexes slightly if you sit on it, gotta buy a $600 stock>Gotta use a ten pound rifleMeanwhile I just go out in the woods and train in field positions, shoot squirrels from as far away as I can see them, and do nothing to my guns except wipe the bolt and barrel down with an oiled cloth and occasionally run patches through the barrel with fishing line. If I can hit an egg at 50 yards while braced against a tree, there is no fucking reason in real life to worry about accuracy beyond that. Bench rest shooting seems to seep out and poison everything and mislead new shooters about what is actually necessary to have suitable equipment and skills for any practical purpose.
>>64767528I'm not mad that people enjoy useless sports that don't simulate any real life skills. I'm mad when their sport seems to dominate convention. When I first got into guns I didn't even own a rifle for years and only used shotguns and pistols because reading all the old geezers on TheHighRoad made me think that rifles were too high maintenance to be practical. I had that mindset for years.
>>64767628Isn't average egg size like 2-3.5" in diameter depending on if it's medium to jumbo/extra large? At 50yd that'd be 4-7 moa. If you're shooting smaller eggs though then sure.>>64767583Sure and that's fine, but plenty of people hunt because they just want a few hundred pounds of high quality and tasty protein in the freezer for the cost of a few bullets as well as hang out with buddies and help keep down a population that doesn't have so many predators. Nothing wrong with your approach just it's not the only motivation is all.
>>64767674I've never seen an egg larger than maybe 1.75" in diameter. An egg is definitely smaller than the killzone of a squirrel or the brain cavity of a deer.
