If the Blue space monkeys evolved on our earth, at what technological level would they have been wiped out just like Neanderthal were?
>>64689155They are still the size of pool cues, imagine a greatbow but almost twice the size, the arrows are almost as long as a person is tall. No armor is stopping that, whether they are made of flint, copper, iron, or whatever else it would generally overmatch traditional period accurate armor. Copper/bronze would be no match, as it is a softer metal. The size of the bow itself speaks for itself. It is larger than a person is by a whole meter.
>>64689009Neanderthal women were captured and bred en masse.Nine foot tall superstrong monkey archers that can leap twice their height straight up would have either dominated every other group, or been slowly captured or cajoled into serving as valuable shock troops. If their programming from the movies is fully intact and they can't be swayed or convinced of almost anything foreign they'd have been ignored for all of human history. They'd be far too expensive to remove and unlike in the movie they wouldn't be sitting on anything valuable.
>>64689202they wouldnt be nine foot tall or superstrong
>>64689155The bows are so effective because Navi are stronger than humans, even stronger than their scale suggests, and able to put more of that strength into an arrow you fucking imbecile.Or are we just going to play this game where you whittle down the advantages of the Navi until they're just skinny blue Ethiopians.

>>64689221I find it basically impossible that this model of android would be the only model available on the market, or even on the market for long with such an utterly garbage business model, 100% many companies would release models you can just outright buy and trade in every few years for the newly upgraded model (with a personality/memory swap of course), basically how phones work now. Their main business model would revolve around trade in offers so you feel like you're getting a great deal on the newest fanciest chasis even though a 10 year old model still "just werks."

In this thread we post our fuckups. I'll start.Been having issues getting my pistol frt to run suppressed and while cleaning the can helped, it could be better. I noticed the striker had some resistance in half of it's travel with the spring removed. There was a bunch of gunk in the metal block and the only way to really clean that out is to pull the striker housing from the slide. Had to use a lot of force to get it out like it was glued in there. I think the blue/green shit is loctite. My dot kept coming off so I kept reapplying it.It was on the slide and striker housing.Everything is clean now though. It'll be a few days before I can get to the range to test though.>nice blogpostseethe

>>64688644Weapons grade leaf blowers
>>64681631This. Better systems to more quickly deploy these nets. Think of it as "aerial entrenching."
>>64686411You’ve been able to detect people in real time for ages with minimal hardware. The requirements for a hunter-killer fully autonomous drone are totally different. >>64686428Even with something like a raspberry pi 5 or nvidia jetson Nano it flickers. A person gets a branch in front of a third of their body it’s not going to recognize it as a person. If you put it 150 meters up into the air and have it look down at a position it’s not going to pick out a person in the clutter. It’s not AI like ChatGPT, it’s not going to ”remember” that a person is behind a tree or car. It’s not able to deduce things. I’ve seen drones with image recognition like 1.5 years ago. If it was as simple as that ”hurr durr just have it fly towards the area then towards what it spots” that’d be done. It might work in an open desert but that’s not what we’re talking about.>>64686646Yes, because it works. Things like AI image recognition allow you to do it a lot cheaper and more accessible. If you know how a plane is going to look parked at an airfield you can train the model on it, have the drone fly towards that area using INS and terrain recognition for the path it’s trained on then hit whatever planes it sees parked there. Or for things like power-stations. That’s an actually realistic fully autonomous mission impervious to EW. You don’t just slap a raspberry pi on a drone, train it on ”people” then you’ve got a fucking T-1000 with rotors.https://youtu.be/Hu3p5ZR_i5sOoooh, so scary!!>>64686726Retard.This is the same sort of stuff I talked about, no shit there are actual uses for machine vision but being able to detect whether what it’s directly pointed at is a tank or not is not the same as being able to autonomously go attack a trench system.>>64688618Wrong, if that was the case they’d just make it go ”Am I within area X” and have area X defined as a clearly hostile area with a large margin of error with INS backup.

38 spl is the best example. It can be shortened to the length of 380 acp but it's not. And after all the changes in service rifle cartridges, I refuse to believe 9 mm is still the best pistol round. >>64685299I say only use 327 mag and 44 magboth are extremely powerful and more importantly excessively loud
>>64689000checked, (am not a revolver carrier) in my opinion people that carry short-barrel revolvers chambered in .357 Magnum are yes wasting-blasting energy out the muzzle, simultaneously increasing recoil and potentially diminishing the effectiveness/accuracy of any follow-up shots in a self defense scenario. They'd be better off carrying and training with .38 Special in those revolvers. In my opinion.Others disagree, and many people choose to train and carry a snubnose .357 Magnum and are comfortable and proficient with it.If you're going to carry a .357 Magnum revolver for self defense it should be a minimum 4-inch barrel.
>>64685769This again. Buddy, we've HAD bottlenecked cartridges in revolvers since fucking 1874, stop doing this shit. Hell, .350 Legend only exists because of fuddlore hunting regulations prohibiting bottleneck cartridges for hunting, not for any straightwall-versus-bottleneck performance bullshit.

>>64687053It got popular because for decades there was no real alternative to light beers. Mike's lemonade is full of sugar and sickly sweet, so getting drunk off it is something people usually do once or twice in college before they realize it's a terrible idea. White Claws are 5% (or 8%), they don't taste like shit, and they don't give you a brutal hangover. They're something that will please women at a party (not that anybody on this website would know anything about that), and they're just barely more expensive than bud light.>>64687358You pay $20 and immediately have drinks that will please pretty much anybody who might be at your party.
