>did they actually ever publish the lab test?
I haven't seen the actual lab test, but it's understandable they wouldn't post that since the 2230 was never intended to be sold to civilians. Only reason, from Safariland's perspective, people would need to know that is if they wanted to kill cops. I'll excuse their lack of transparency there. Protech is more reputable than Hesco (a lot more, actually).
>that one I posted forever ago, that somehow they never published themselves...
Yeah, pic rel. You raise a good point that, for whatever reason, Adept has all these test reports but the only one on their site is for 1x M993. Just one. It is from 8/5/22...
>if you throw weight out the window...
Rule of thumb with CTAs is that they only eat one hit per tile, so we'd need to make the tiles smaller and that means a weight penalty - see that Turtle Xtreme VPAM-12 plate from a few threads ago. Cheat ringed despite using really good materials because it'd weigh a shit load. Hexagonal tile array, Militech / Tencate Multi-Light style, versus Gillie 8002 rectangular.
>I've got two in my closet. only m61 rated though.
I am jealous. Is this the GEN1 version where M855 can sneak between pellets or the later steel-sandwich version?
>undeniable that at least the backer will be significantly weakened after multiple hits of 30 cal
Of course. Shot spacing however mitigates that, since it's the ceramic doing most of the work (or at least it should...) and the backer is just catching fragments. The Hesco 4601's mistake is that it relies too much on the thick-as-hell backer to do the strike face's job.
>you'll have delamination across most of the plate
Can be mitigated if you use better adhesive.
>never showing tests with more than 3 rounds of m80
Need to use the CPL for this one my friend.

>at $800 per the adept is a mid range plate desu
Forgot to address this. Per the site it's $640, so $1,280 a set for 10x12. The Gilliam 8002 is $314 a plate, so $618 a set, but is single curve and eats a roughly 2lb weight penalty for the same threats stopped. 8002 is a tile array however and should beat it on multi-hit. For comparison's sake the Hesco 4601 is $900 a set and matches the Colossus on weight / thickness (and with NIJ cert for IV!), but without tungsten threat protection, and it puts on a much worse show against .30 cal AP.
I got my Protech 2230s for $354, a set, and you can still buy them from other sources for $450 a set like Gunbroker. They're sketchy on tungsten threats other than really basic, unchallenging stuff like M995, but they're tough as nails otherwise.

>as for modern AP, I can still say, it probably hes the best chance to stop your mentioned threats, out of any civ-sold plate. it did stop SLAP, (v50)
Granted, it did that two or three times, but if we're getting engaged by M948 then things have really gone to pot and threats like .338 AP529 are in play. What I would like to see is a TiB2-SiC version of the 8002 that splits the difference between the 8002 and Colossus halfway in cost but beats the Colossus on raw threat level. Similarly, 7.5lb "Heavy Colossus" that stops very hard shit like .338 7N49 and AP529 cold, along with M948 100% of the time. I think Jake's a shady guy (pic rel is his first business address back at Diamond Age - a supplement store in TX) but the strength of the TiB2-SiC he's peddling is undeniable. IMO, that's the future of midweight ceramics as soon as it becomes price-effective from other guys.
This is apocryphal and totally anecdotal, but I remember seeing a RUAG presentation showing a Level IV plate losing to M993 at 150 meters, but when backed by doubled-up IIIA M993 could not beat it at all. Worst case scenario, back the 8002 or Colossus with good soft armor to try and shorten the odds.
>picrel: you with that 7.5lb plate
Ceradyne 80571 in the fresh, .50 BMG protective with standoff. Very nice! For the record, my 2230s are 0.8lb lighter than G1 1155s, over a pound lighter than honestly sized Highcom 4S17Ms, and 0.2lb lighter than Hesco 4403s.

Grease the tracks on a remote uphill section…. Force it to slow down by releasing cows on track. Board train and force engineers to dump steam and water and stop stoking fire…. At that point it’s not going anywhere. Then rob passengers/take goods. Then ride off on horses.. cut telegraph lines as soon as trains in site to prevent calls for help.. pick somewhere that’s a few miles away from anywhere it’s expected and you’ll have a good head start.. finally find place to stash loot in the middle of nowhere and cover your tracks. Wait a year or so before trying to sell or fence the loot

Still reeling from the sheer retardation of the Battleship proposal, plus that it'll be replacing the DDG(X) project.

But the FF(X) looks good. It won't have VLS in it's first flight, but it'll have an established supply chain and available logistics for repair and maintenance. As long as they don't try to make more capable than it needs to be, i think it'll be a good boat.

It's 2025, you have a web of unmanned pickets with sonars, you don't need a helicopter flying around which can never get close to 100% uptime
>>
>>64682644
Better to have both. Don't put your eggs in one basket.
>>
>>64682644
You don't need 100% uptime from an ASW helo. If they drop sonobuoys, those sensors stay active for hours at a time, if they get a contact you can then send the helicopter back out, at which point it can use it's dipping sonar to get a firing solution and then drop it's torpedo(s). All things which can be done hundreds of miles away from the ship.

You're no different to the "everything is obsolete now because drones" smoothbrained retards that have sprung up over the past few years.

Called papovka. They're still used as ceremonial arms by the honor guard here.

May dad used it as a service rifle but he was in a signals unit. Won a shooting competition with it, got a day pass, got drunk and climbed a fence back into the barracks 'to not get in trouble'. He's a humble man so he claims the only reason he won was because he had a well maintained rifle while some of his comrades already had fucked up barrels.

He was handed an AK after independence but didn't know how to use it properly. When ordered to fire 'single shots' he went fully automatic, got yelled and told to fire 'single shot' again. Fired a burst again, got yelled at again and had to explain he never used the weapon before. Ended up guarding bosnian refugees at the border for a while.

He tells the story everytime he's drunk.

Colts were certainly mentioned often in old newspaper articles.

Bingo. Only terachad doesn’t care.

I suspect the male desire for violent, degrading, deviant sex also comes from this. You’re trying to probe out of the girl an honest signal of her affection for you, and the amount of discomfort she will endure is a good sign of this. You want it to be the case that she endured the most discomfort with you. Did she do things with others she won’t do with you? Why? Did she care more about pleasing them? You’re comparing yourself to the others who came before you, but you don’t know who they are or what they look like, so it’s hard to gauge what her maximum is. I bet the desire for all this scales with female promiscuity, female SMV, and inveserely with your own SMV. The more of a Chad you are, the more likely it is that you compare favorably to those who came before, so your mind is more at ease. And obviously a virgin girl has done nothing so no need to mog anyone. And the whole point behind all this is that is probably informs her likelihood of cheating on you.
