Between a Mossberg 590 and a Remington 870, which should I keep? Recently was given an 870 and I don't really care to have two shotguns.

>Even if it's half the price it's going to perform significantly worse than the real thing.
> Your 3d slug might weigh the same but it's not going to do the same thing
You seem upset. I'm not sure where you're getting the idea from that this is somehow supposed to be as good as a traditional slug. It's meant to be a cheap practice load for ranges that require slugs.
>Your cheap ass bird shot doesn't have the same powder load as a slug
Yea, that's correct, but actually ideal for a practice load as long as it cycles, which would be the big question. There's nothing desirable about a full bore 1600fps 1oz load when the guns going to be loaded with low or medium power buck anyways.
>Might as well just dick around with cutshells.
What a smoothbrain take, cut shells won't cycle in a pump gun let alone a semi auto. They also aren't slugs for the purpose of complying with range janny rules.
>>64683426
It's easier than casting slugs, you don't have to deal with sourcing and melting down lead, lots of people already own 3d printers for other shit anyways. Other than that it's worse in every way, I think people chasing after it as some sort of defense or hunting load are pretty dumb. I mean it'll work sure, you're pretty much just making a goofy non discarding sabot round at that point though where a cast lead slug would work better.

And there it is. I'm retarded. I did zero research and am stuck with a local indoor range that requires slugs. I'm going to range lawyer up some cheap slugs then get kicked out anyways since any range requiring slugs because retards shoot up the ceiling will kick out anybody with homemade bullshit ammo. What drive farther to a better range? That's impossible I'm trying to save 30 cents by wasting 30 minutes on each shell I can't afford gas money.

Yes, Duality Arms Co is opening up orders again Jan 1. There are copy cat knock offs being sold as well.

Mamba is supposed to be 2 position 3k rpm trigger. Seems dumb for a mag gun. I would go for the RATLR personally. Brello solutions has a metal 3 pos cam. Harrison gun works is going to release and metal 3 pos cam as well. As with any FRT, tuning is probably gonna be necessary.

I put a RATLR in a white 9mm for a guy last week. I know vectors run fast, but goddamn it's quick. Dry function testing is weird with it too, it only works at speed, it won't reset the trigger if you run the action by hand.

I've also heard a lot about vectors breaking often from guys working at rental ranges. A guy at a MG rental range nearby said they have five FA vectors because one or two are usually at kriss for repair at any point.

Muh PCC to appease the thread gods.

>>

i certainly hope so, though more likely china will just take the east through influence and russia's sheer desperation. a war seems unlikely to me unless russians continue to subvert expectations and always do the most retarded thing that works the most against their own interests.
russia is already basically a chinese satellite state and an underfed dog for them to use when useful. the only thing china won't be allowed to touch (in writing anyway, in practice it will) is russia's economic heartland, as they probably still have some usable nukes stored away to keep the threat real.

The general for discussing homemade and amateur firearms

Last thread: >>/64549287/

I often see homemade firearms being constructed very crudely out of things like pipes, sheet metal, dremeled slabs of mystery meat steel, and all other sorts of things, but why is it that I don't often see homemade guns made by people who know what they're doing?
A significant amount of homemade firearms I see are done as a hobby, and making a firearm takes someone who knows how to work with metal, but you dont often see them actually milling guns with a machine, pic rel.
Or maybe those types of guns tend to be so well made that they arent usually distinguished as homemade?

Yeah, this concept of using bolts as weapon bolts brings me back. You know, they said it couldn't be done. I'm not the author of Nutty-9 but I do enjoy knowing that somewhere there is my handprint. Though this stuff seems to develop at snail's pace, it's been nearly ten years now.

Speaking of which, the original plan of using ECM to make barrels was suggested to be used for making bolt faces as well. That and using bent leaf springs as extractors. It's not a hard to grasp concept, it's just that is considered a machine gun in US and thus can't catch on as a trend. But for Euro markets where this stuff is mostly illegal anyway, I see no reason to complicate things with firing mechanisms. It doesn't become more illegal by having open bolt mechanism. It just becomes less demanding. Food for thought I guess.

There are about 3,000 of them in just one neighborhood. Do you really want to risk being thrown into a Japanese prison for people you'll probably never see again? After the murder of the former prime minister, anyone caught with a homemade firearm will be treated very badly by the police, and Japan is famous for its high rate of successful arrests.

Is Aero QC bad enough to the point where I shouldn't buy a stripped lower from Scheels for cash? It would be a lot easier than shipping a stripped lower to an FFL.
The only other stripped lowers I can buy in-store in my city are Andersons or Spike's Tactical punisher skulls
>>
>>64684786
Buy an Anderson.
>>
>>64684786
If you're buying it in-person for cash you can do your own QC at the counter, just check the anodization and look at the holes to make sure they're where they should be and go through the lower straight...

If it looks good, about the only thing you'd run into is if the magwell is too tight/loose or the buffer retainer is drilled in the wrong spot, but both of those are unlikely if the rest is ok.
I've built a lot of rifles on Aero receivers and never had a problem, my only encounter with out of spec lower was with Anderson. I think you'll prolly be fine.

For MBRs I want to upgrade my 91 clone and FALO clone. The 91 with training bolt and a 50 drum would make mag dumbs afforable, and the FALO is a heavy bbl natural. 'Also rans' would include almost any PDW (Uzi, PS90, SBR AR).

Thread about drone operators getting PTSD got deleted before I could post comment. I do have some thoughts on that though.

I think a lot of drone operators will have PTSD after the war. I don't mean like "I murdered all those ziggers I'm so sad!", I mean more like going from going sleepless for long periods hyper focused on a screen remotely slaughtering enemies (no it is not the same as doing it in vidya despite superficial simialrity), and then trying to reintegrate into normal peaceful society. US troops from the GWOT have high amounts of PTSD and suicide rates, and it's not because they're broken up over killing some hajis. I think Ukraine will have it much worse with lots of depressed alcoholics and drug addicts. Just not for the reasons some people think.
>>
>>64684690
There's a lot of good data on State-sided CIA/AF drone operators getting PTSD, although, that came down to a lack of proper separation & decompression so idk if it would apply. Operators would get head fucked from going 9-5 on base and then driving home.

So it does happen.
>>
>>64684690
Nah, PTSD more often occurs on disenfranchised soldiers that are not really into the fight, like the americans and their forever wars so despised by everyone. Ukrainians fight for their very survival, i imagine this would help them sleep better at night. Besides, ukranians are already alcoholics and drug addicts.

Shit, wrong file. Here's the right one

I used to intern with a Class II FFL precision rifle builder who also manufactured some NFA items and no joke, you can literally make a good quality (albeit rough finished) suppressor for under $100 provided you have a lathe. You can make even cheaper wipe suppressors for close to $50 out of pipe tubing you find on amazon. I remember watching this video by an American volunteer in the Ukrainian International Legion who talk about a company in the Czech Republic that sold suppressors for the Bren 2 that cost $125 so clearly it doesn't cost that much to make them yet I'm having a hard time finding anyone selling even shitty .22lr whip suppressors for under $500. Certainly with the NFA tax going away you'd think there'd be a market for cheap suppressors in the US right?

Has any one done any crypto analysis on these radios? Not life or death for me, but would be nice to know if AES is implemented correctly, or do we just assume all Chinese radios have hardcoded backdoor keys. I just want a good analog/DMR radio with an open source firmware, but the openGD77 dev is a pussy and won't support crypto.

>>
>>64684009
For my conversations, yeah obviously not. But seeing as how widespread those radios are, including for military uses, (eg UA & RU), its not inconceivable that china would intentionally weaken the crypto, in case they ever ended up in the hands of someone fighting against them at some point.

The Ailunce HD2's implementation is good. Anytone 878 no, Baofeng DM-32UV probably not.
Odds of a backdoor are still likely.
