Most Jap liveries(standard light grey, not the funky special ones) are best of type. F-104, F-4, F-15, all the best looking of their kind. Best grey, nice simple red rondel. Dunno what they were thinking with the turquoise on the F-2 though
>>
>>64656856
there is no alternative to F-35
there will be no EU alternative to F-35 or NGAD in the next 2 decades, FCAS being a germ-frog project makes it a dead project
whether GCAP will be a competitor to NGAD remains to be seen, US has several decades of advantage in design and operation experience
>>
>>
>>64656957
There's not really any comparison to be made between the GCAP and NGAD. GCAP is going to be more like an F-35 2: Electric Boogaloo planned to come out no earlier than 2035, while NGAD is an intercontinental monster that's in production right now at a cost 4 times greater than the F-35.

How do I get better at planks?
>>
>>64657212
Think of your torso as a shoe. When you pull your shoulder blades apart, you tighten the laces; when you start to collapse in and sink into your shoulders, you loosen it and have to recruit another part of your body to support the load.
Relax and breathe. No, really.
Push slightly back from your forearms into the balls of your feet.
>>
>>64657212
Ya my planks were ass too. I failed my first strength test due planks. I found that breathing in for 3 seconds, holding my breath for 3 seconds, and breathing out for 3 seconds like doubled my time.

The bus driver in charge of Venezuela is claiming the military will not only defeat the US and sink blockading aircraft carriers, but counterattack and capture the white house. Is this a realistic goal?

It'd be political suicide on their behalf. Even if we have a shaky reason to intervene, everyone knows about the Monroe Doctrine and knows you don't fuck with our hemisphere. Same reason nobody's gotten up in arms about Cuba. Moreover intervention in Venezuela would give us reason to double or even triple down our investments in Asia. It's not like Chinese aid will be able to move quick enough and in enough quantity to affect the war anyway. They're better off just sitting it out, letting us make an ass of ourselves, and using our war as a distraction to make more moves in the South China Sea
>>
>>64653026
Well, it has the potential for being extremely funny in unforeseen ways. As 120% unlikely as it is, let's say two aircraft carriers get badly damaged, it would change the balance of power enough for chyna to try something in Taiwan. Meaning backing Venezuela in the shadows greatly works in their favor here. Don't ask me how such a strike would be possible, I fail to see it, but always be wary when treacherous chynamen are involved.

It's the russian transactions which are a legitimate legal mistake on the Venezuelan's part.
If china wants to support the embargo'd/sanctioned ships that's their mistake to make.
Nobody is going to touch the ships that haven't been declared as acting unlawfully.

instead of previously planned 64 cells
it will also feature the AEGIS system and SPY-6 radar
they will likely come with Tomahawks for land attack as well
8 units are planned now instead of previously 5
26 bn euros have been designated for the project
these will likely become the most powerful surface combatants in Europe

It's actually one of the primary objectives in the Mk41 cell integration, as it's physically slimmer than ESSM, it physically wont have any issue fitting, the only question is can they get it to hot launch safely and communicate with the AEGIS system.

Not sure about the datalink, but as a rule of thumb part of the ungodly cost of all these NATO systems is that they have some compatibility built in.

The defense of Wiltz during the Battle of the Bulge. The 28th Infantry Division had control of that sector and garrisonned most of the divisional staff in the town but they were so badly decimated from the Hurtgen Forest that when the Germans attacked the band was sent out to hold the town's defensive perimiter and cover the retreat because there was nobody else available.
To the surprise of literally everyone, the band held the line for three days before they were forced to withdraw. Out of 60 men, 3 were killed in action and 35 were wounded or captured.

Who: 131st Separate Motor Rifle Brigade vs Chechen fighters
Where: Grozny, Chechnya
When: 31 December 1994
A 1000 strong brigade was ordered to go into the city without recon or support. Immediately surrounded, but didn't run back. While the rest of the country celebrated the New Year, 980 soldiers died thanks to the stupidity of their command. There are radio recordings between the commander of the brigade and Chechen commander. Heart-wrenching to listen to it, but I guess it's now superseded by stuff coming out of Ukraine both in terms of horror and scale

A big majority of canadians now support purchasing new Gripen fighter jets over the F-35. At the same time, the canadian government is looking over cancelling the rest of the F-35 on order whilst considering buying swedish instead. Will this be the first big loss of locksneed martin? How will the americans cope when their own neighbor don't want their overhyped fighter?

Thoughts?
https://surplus.botach.com/gh-armor-systems-4400-series-10x12-lvl-iv-plate-set-police-trade/
>>
>>64657012
All evidence points to them literally being recalled plates from five years ago that lost their NIJ certification because of a failed FIT follow up test. The timing is extremely suspect, especially since Botach has all four recalled Hesco models. 4400, 4600, 3410, 3610. The five year warranties by now are all expired. An anon ran the 4600 on their page against the NIJ naughty serial number list and it came up. Working theory is that someone at Hesco sold these out the back door to Botach years ago, after the recalls, and Botach waited until the warranties expired.
All of these plates were suspended for faulty heat treatment on the ceramic strike faces and cannot be trusted to make their advertised rating. However, in the words of the NIJ, armor of reduced effectiveness is better than no armor at all. Since these are only $100 a set, they're basically the final ditch option for people that need SOMETHING and can't afford yesterday's newspaper.

If you have any ability to save up, I'd much rather look to options in the $320-360/set bracket. Gilliam 1023, Gilliam 0425, Highcom SP8 (this sucks). LA Police Gear edge-to-edge Level IV is on sale for $290 a set. Gilliam 1023 is the top performer in that bracket. If you can raise to $450 a set then used Protech 2230s. All of the above options are at least passable and of similar weight to the 4400s, and will actually stop .30-06 M2AP. Even the RMA XRT (no M2AP, M80A1 tops) is preferable and I strongly distrust RMA.

This is the largest ever arms package to Taiwan.
Of this $11B, $4B will go towards 82 HIMARS launchers and 420 ATACMS. The ATACMS has more than enough range to hit all the ports and factories in Fujian, and can hit ports in Quanzhou
and Guangdong.
>The proposed arms sale covers eight items, including HIMARS rocket systems, howitzers, Javelin anti-tank missiles, Altius loitering munition drones and parts for other equipment, Taiwan's defence ministry said in a statement.
Anduril also copped a win with $1.1B for their ALTIUS
drones. PrSM production isn't nearly fast enough yet (400/y) to fill in the gap by the shrinking ATACMS stockpile so the fact that they're being sold to Taiwan means business.
