How do you learn to philosophize? I read philosophy books but i never learn to philosophize. I never learn to use those fancy words like epistomoleogoogy; i only learn what they kinda mean but i never have a sure feeling of it and have to look it up all the time. Is philosophy only for high iq people? I feel utterly lost so much so i don't even bother to talk about it with other people.
scientific hobby doesn't help, because scientists seek special cases and exceptions to prove a general rule.A philosopher does not look for special cases, he is already baffled by the most mundane everyday observations. Fake philosophers try to imitate this by "challenging status quo". But the real thaumazein is pure and innocent perplexity, without hidden political objectives. Inb4 muh Nietzsche, muh everybody has hidden will to power subconsciously pre-selecting his new concepts. If that was the case, no original philosophies would exist. They are rare, but not inexistent. If you aren't naturally perplexed by everyday reality, don't try to philosophize, simple as

I read 97 books this year. But I also abandoned twice that many after a few pages. If a book doesn't grab you by the end of Chapter 1 it makes no sense to keep reading. It's not like the author kept the best for the last few pages.

>If there is a danger, it lies in the Negro music and dancing that has been imported into Europe. This music has completely won over a whole section of the cultured population of Europe, to the point of real fanaticism. I use calibre. Reading anywhere but on a desktop computer is cause for distraction.
>>24950783I love to read in nature when it's sunny and in bed when it's winter. I used to read behind my desk using calibre as well but I notice I read way more now that I have an ereader because it's just more convenient. Also I never expected this but the epaper screens are genuinely adding a lot of value. The "print" quality is higher than actual paper books and it looks indistinguishable to paper. I can never go back to reading from a lcd monitor or oled phone screen.Physical books are cumbersome to hold for extended periods of time and I usually read 4 - 5 books at the same time (one non fiction history, one non fiction about a specific field or interest, a fiction guilty pleasure book, some genre fiction and some genuine classic literature) I won't be carrying an entire backpack filled with books with me wherever I go.

I have a lot of scenes and storylines in my head I want to hit, so since I have a base my main process is kind of riffing off the parts I've set in play and building towards major scenes, a lot of improv mixed with following a very rough outline that I have in my head. In my edit or rewrite or whatever I plan on really streamlining everything
