>>24953740Some very nice rhythms and imagery here. But the problem with trying to describe an intense situation with equally intense language is that it can't help but fall flat, especially if you (the author) are vacillating between the immediate, visceral experience of the character (described in their own imperfect language) and the distanced omni pov that allows for flights of 'purple' poetry. Try writing it in first person, staying in scene and uncomfortably close to the action e.g. no reveries/flashbacks to flight school exercises, other flights he's taken, etc.; unless your pilot character is some opiated flaneur, you might find some more useful and 'real' language to graft into the 3pov draft.

>>24953687I was deeply disturbed by this book and thought it was seriously cruel what Emily did to the characters in this book. It was exceptionally good at evoking emotional responses from me despite those feelings mostly being anger and betrayal at what I was reading
>>24955261Being cruel to characters in order to evoke pathos was very normal and in fashion at the time. Emily subverts though by making the tormented characters all assholes, instead of a tormented saint as was preferred. We also see things through the perspective of the tormentor and that his tormenting is driven by his own torment
>>24953687Needs more violent murders. The Japs did it right.
For much of my life, I have been attracted to various political ideologies and philosophy, but now I have realized that all forms of idealism lead to failure. From the philosophers of antiquity, such as Plato and Socrates, to Hegel, none of them ever worked and they lived in fantasy worlds. When one cannot accept reality and does not believe in religion, one believes in philosophy and political ideologies, only instead of God they speak of the Übermensch, the world of ideas, the will to power, the spirit, etc. This is why I consider myself a pvre materialist.
The only "philosophy" that works in practice... is freedom. Simply put, no one will look out for your interests as well as you will.
>>24954676Freedom is a vague concept and changes from culture to culture, for a Chinese freedom means being able to start a business, feeling safe, etc.For a Westener, freedom is saying the n word on Twitter while capitalism collapses
>>24954783>capitalism collapseslol

Doubting Shakespeare's authorship is a very cheap way to, I guess, look intelligent. I wouldn't call it intelligence because my brain is far too advanced, I'm too smart, to doubt Shakespeare's authorship. I know you're sitting there going>Smart people know de Vere was using a pseudonym! No. I need a commoner, I need the son of a glovemaker, in my life to feel content. I need him to be writing greatest literature without a fucking education, having illiterate parents, and small Latin and less Greek. I can't just sit there,>Oh, and Francis Bacon left a hidden cipher!:/It's for people with slow brains.
By the way we have plenty examples of de Vere’s writing and it’s all mediocre shit that doesn’t match Shakespeare’s style at all. We also know Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein and her husband only helped her edit a small parts it’s 2025 not the fucking dark ages the eggheads can analyze language using ever more sophisticated tools to tell these things. It’s also how we know Shakespeare was penned by 1 man with the exception of a couple of collabs.

The weak have instincts that lead to things like spiralling violence that makes everyone weaker.Even Rome and China fed and educated their conquered subjects. Why couldn't they compete with American authors?
>>24955187Okay, Nobel prize status?
>>24955188Also obviously not a neutral institution during the cold war (as you might be able to tell from the fact Solzhenitsyn and Brodsky won it), but despite that they still had a good amount of Nobel prize winners for how short the USSR existed: Boris Pasternak, Mikhail Sholokhov, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, and Joseph Brodsky.

Behold! The brilliancy of Danielle Chelosky's genius! Terror is one of my favorites from Danielle's little book called Female Loneliness Epidemic, and it is little. It's only 4in by 7in and 0.25in thick
>>24954771Despite >>24954469 sperges I do agree. Danielle's writing is bad and is veiled behind sofcore porno curtain that is her writing and her bodily selfies. She definitely understands that sex sells and you are one sore sucker biting that bait hook, line and the whole sinker. You'd ironically get more subcribing to an OF whore. Or for that matter, just getting it for free on the hub.
>>24954930I pledged my penis to Danielle Chelosky. I can't break that solemn vow.
I'm almost done with Pregaming Grief and it's making me want to be there for Danielle. I so desperately wish I could be the man Danielle is yearning for. I wish I could be the one to love her and make her feel secure. I feel awful that she isn't able to find love, and I desperately want to give it to her.

>>24954858No they actually exploited their own "allies" in poorer countries and forced all poor countries to pay back their loans in USD, which was not the deal from the start, when they could not pay back they forced them to export products of their own companies interests and tricked them into decades of debt. America did it to themselves aswell but the us treasury is the only one that "prints" USD so its not as big of a problem for the us, not yet anyway.
I'm looking for clever illustrations of what a leftist utopia/dystopia could look like, with special attention to the rough edges. It would probably be scifi.I'm not asking for chudslop written by poltards and their likes, nor a time-wasting apologetic wet dream, but rather a sincere exploration of the good and bad sides. For example, "The Compass Rose" by Le Guin showed interesting ideas about what an anarchist society could look like, sad things included.
