I always preferred FIM's slice-of-life episodes. I was never a big fan of the adventure-heavy episodes, particularly season openers and finales. So even though I don't like how NMM was handled and how S1E1 and S1E2 turned out, I do like the fact that they were free to do slice-of-life for the rest of the season. The Best Night Ever is one of my favorite season finales.
