The shot is really great and i was wondering if there was a specific studio that makes these kinds of photos? I was thinking of Harcourt in Paris, but no online confirmation that Tyler was photographied there.

Also which camera/gear can produce this kind of quality?

Definitely not. You can only change the angle of the focal plane. You cant shorten it or change the overall shape. It will always carry through the entirety of the image. Perspective shift wouldn't achieve something like that either. Falloff is also too sharp.

Here's an example of using shallow DoF with front standard swing on 8x10.

Any love for the Game Boy Camera and printer here?
Sure nowadays even the chinkest of cameras and printers may be better with printing via phone bigger and clearer photos but there's a certain charm and fun in doing with with a Game Boy of all things.

The funny part is that I didn’t get a Printer until like 10 years later.

I want to film a Timelapse of a plane trail, contrail, chemtrail, whatever it may be. Just to show that they are turning clear sunny days, into a haze. Not quite overcast but a light haze enough to cover the entire sky.
I have witnessed trails starting small; as you would see coming from the plane, and slowly grow and grow. They don’t disappear; just getting wider and wider until it all blends into one big hazy sky.
I’m going to assume wide angle is the best lens.
As for location is the top of mountain going to be my best bet?

Aircraft exhaust is already a cloud seeding technique whether intended or not. If a jet flies at high altitudes, it creates new cirrus clouds. Every single time. There is no conspiracy needed. It's basic meteorology.

The people planning flight paths might know this and care, or some combination of know/dont know/care/dont care. Cirrus clouds trap heat.

From where I'm standing, RT has borderline unusable file browser - that's true. The fact that they refuse to implement a normal image preview, like it exists in every other editing program is just beyond me. ART actually tries to fix that. Otherwise, I think the editor is good.

there are several ways to do highlight recovery, I never had an issue getting highlight detail back
use either tone equalizer or color balance rgb and use the brilliance grading
you can use masks to only affect the sky or the upper luninance ranges, if needed
you could also just make a 2nd exposure module, then make a mask for the highlight areas

OP all of you suspicions are right. Photography is greatest art medium but there is no money in it. I would suggest you to slide into film or painting. In both of these fields you can have a career and recognition for your work.

I know utterly dog shit painters who live through by exhibiting their artwork. In comparison I know many good photographers stuck in dead end jobs and living in poverty. Irony is that they don't even get their share of recognition.

You can try your hand at fashion/editorial type shit. Or do wedding photography. But these art mediums are not fulfilling and leave you with blue balls.

Photography is dead thanks to digital cameras and the internet. The era before internet and fully mechanical film slr's was the golden age of photography. The digital age is by far the worst age to live in. We have to go back to an analog world.

Film and analog printing methods are even more special now that less people are using them.

Closed cell PE foam? It's relatively cheap and not prone to turn into sticky mush.
Get a sheet of of foam to glue inside of cover and a block of foam which fills rest of the case. Arrange everything you want to store on block and trace and cut out shapes deep enough items will be flush with foam block.
>>
>>4466084
I'd go with some felt or flocking personally. I've done something similar with a hard-drive case in the past and it's doable just make sure if you get the self-adhesive stuff that it's heavy duty or "jewelry grade" or whatever the fuck. Flocking alone would not provide much in the way of cushioning but you could fill it out with a lining for foam first.
>>

I use Topaz Photo + Video, good for enlarging and NR, the face reconstruction can be nice too
I don't use it as much as I thought I would, but it has been nice to have
I can run some examples through it if you have any to post
Video I pretty much just use for upscaling old videos, don't really use it for any actual video work I do.

And finally, this stupid lil' guy. I think an apt name would be film destroyer 9000. I need to return to this as I do have a lot of negatives to scan. It's more of a prototype of what became the slide scanner.
Important things to learn from this:
- Horizontal mounting of the camera is bad because even if your mount is very firm, it seems like the internal lens elements have a bit of sag or something that causes pitch to be an issue. This wasn't as much of a problem for the slide scanner as that was all done at a much smaller aperture.
- The backlight is basically the same except I used WS2811 addressable LED strip, it turns out these chips start behaving oddly when they warm up which meant calibrating the channels was a huge PITA.
- I used a Pi to control the stepper. This was what caused any damage to the film as the software-controlled stepping was too rough.
- Adjusting the focus by screw rail is much easer than using the lens ring.

Summer of getting shit done edition

All video related questions and discussion is intended for this thread. Here we discuss techniques, gear and anything else related to capturing video footage. Please don't pretend to be an expert if you don't know what you're talking about. Kindly leave your ego at the door.
Posting short films/scripts or other work you've done is encouraged.
We tend to use and recommend DSLRs/mirrorless cameras because they provide phenomenal picture quality for their price, have large sensors (ie the same size used in high-end cinema cameras and higher) and have interchangeable lenses.
In contrast, consumer camcorders often have much smaller sensors and a fixed lens.

You can still buy resolve for $300 that rental thing is just if you need extra licenses of resolve to do stuff like vfx so you don’t need to send somebody a dongle. If you are an indy filmmaker you probably don’t need it.

Not a great photo, but mainly taken for documentary purposes.
This was in the royal academy for the visual arts, which was having a show for students finishing their studies.
This wall was in the process of being covered in photos of the wall. On the right is a Hasselblad, the person behind this was taking shots of the wall, 12 per roll, then developing and printing the roll and placing it on the wall. Was interesting to watch.
