>Use Gundersen to get his entire garrison to surrender, and use that to force Jormungandr to come out of the woods and into the open

>Wait until James and Nesta drop and for their assault on the Einherjar's base to draw any reinforcements, and then force Gundersen to denounce Jormungandr on a public broadcast

More lives saved and lets us keep our promise to Gundersen.
>>
>>6351619

Yeah, backing this.

Let's hammer the worm on the child soldiers as well.
>>
>>6351574
Hey, Heidrun is Sven's age. Wonder if they've met before and he just doesn't recognize her on account of time and all the indoctrination.

>>6351577
>Make Gundersen lead you to Jormungandr's safehouse
Personally I'd rather we keep them uneasy and uncertain than give them a clear target to be angry at, especially if turns out they've got leverage like prisoners or bombs in civilian areas.
The thought of him getting bagged without knowing exactly what's going on is also amusing to me.

>>6351621
Whoa, let's not go that far. Child soldiers are good when we do it.
>>
>>6351668

For a given value of 'good'.

Best you can say in our case is we were given every tool and opportunity to succeed.

All Jormungandr is doing is treating the colony's future as cannon fodder.

Really, it shouldn't be a hard sell to get Gundersen's garrison to surrender. Especially if they've already had a desertion problem.
>>
>>6351668
>Hey, Heidrun is Sven's age.
Damn
With New Noregr being an Outer Colony it might be possible if they are from the same settlement.

>>6351577
>Wait until James and Nesta drop and for their assault on the Einherjar's base to draw any reinforcements, and then force Gundersen to denounce Jormungandr on a public broadcast
What will Jormungandr do

>how to use AI in a game, without using AI?
I had this random game setting idea. Every thread there are people supporting or complaining about AI art AI generated text etc.

But what about this: can you use THE THEMES of AI, without using AI itself?

Here is my GRIMDARK cringedark fantasy setting lol

-There is an old King, fighting a war abroad as well as internecine rebellion within

-In desperation, the King makes a pact with DEMONS (vampires?): in return for sorcerous power to defeat his foes and win the war, the King promises to repay the demons in blood sacrifices from his realm denizens once peace is secured and the battle won in the future

-the demons consent, grant him and his heirs fiendish powers and the King triumphs in battle. However, each year thereafter, the demons return and demand blood, more and more (debt to gdp ratio lol)

No names or anything yet for this DATACENTRE BLOOD WIZARD setting, but another idea I quite like (maybe it is because I have been playing too much Dragon Age Origins lol, too much blood magic and enslaved elves yay, or I watched that new trailer for the upcoming Clive Barker Hellraiser videogame too many times lol) an idea I have been thinking about is inverting this idea that sorcery is always just too overpowered.

Maybe in this setting, magic is super forbidden and actually a bit useless it is only ever the recourse of outcasts and slaves and the weakest in society, the opposite of swords and sorcery God-Priests, the slave magic doesn't really work and it is like the equivalent of voodoo or Caribbean Obeah / Obiya curses etc. (historically, how some magic was practiced) >>6341075

So sorcery is only used by slaves beggars outcasts and the downtrodden. However, the King discovers that when you concentrate the magic in huge demon ziggurat datacentre ritualistic labyrinth monolith monuments (hyperscale cloud computing lol) then it becomes SUPER POWERFUL when fuelled with blood sacrifice, it can compel people to do anything, armies rise and fall and obey your every command. So the magic is bound to the massive desertification datacentre wasteland structures etc mirroring the tension between personalised, open source decentralised computing vs hyperscale cloud computing.

Maybe the magic works by some ritual currency amulets hehe or talisman TOKENS lol

Anyway the idea I have is to take AI out of the tired cyberpunk mirrorshades context, maybe transpose it into a swords and sorcery one etc. But engage all the techno sci fi debates about consciousness and control etc

Another plot element I was thinking about... A while back I described an interesting microcosm setup I saw on Patrick Stuart false machine OSR blog, about a game contained entirely around a guard outpost (no other locations) perhaps just sentinels watching over one gate location (this setup is super clever, because if you think about it, it means all story NPCs have a justification to be teleported directly to your destination eg if you are guarding the entryway to a city etc, a passageway or route that everyone is required to traverse).

I actually assembled a lot of graphics for this Gatekeeper idea, I didn't proceed because it did not feel quite original enough lol. Also that FATEKEEPER swords and sorcery videogame trailer came out, it was pretty good I was discouraged lol

But I also kept thinking about what could be so important in a fantasy setting to warrant being eternally guarded over by an order of warrior gatekeeper monks lol

After reading obsessively about all this Caiaphas Jesus crucifixion / 67 AD Roman-Jewish war history over Christmas, what if the site you are tasked to guard in eternal vigilance is used for DEICIDE ie KILLING GOD

Like it is literally the only magical place that can be used to KILL GODS. I actually thought about this for a while, and decided it would be better to underplay it (ie don't make the site visibly super-sorcery lightning bolts and stormclouds and floating warped castle towers etc) instead maybe what it looks like is just a pit >>6351851 where people just throw all the confiscated relics, totems, oblations propitiation offerings etc of the condemned god, all the idols and broken statues etc and also execute the followers and disciples and priests etc. So it is more of a taboo "god-killing" ritual site as opposed to something like Baldurs Gate II or Pillars Of Eternity where you literally fling magic to kill a god

And so I had this framing idea for the DATACENTRE BLOOD WIZARD setting, the Old King (lol his name is CAIAPHAS??) maybe relied upon one sect of wizards conjurers to KILL ALL THE MAGIC all the gods in his land, in exchange for his demonic blood pact etc all the magic is gone from the land (Weber Entzauberung disenchantment theory lol
>>6348384
), only he has all the magic now, but all he can do to repay his cursed Faustian demon bargain is build more demon containment datacentres with accompanying human sacrifices, this is my dark gothic fantasy setting starting idea. Maybe it is cringe terrible lol

Greentext threads have always been mostly left alone by the the /tg/ jannies. Seems to be about the one thing they will tolerate.

Across the stars there exists a legend walking among the myriad species of the stars, and his name is Zarus.

Zarus is a creature that is known as a human, a species that came from somewhere unknown. In truth, they aren't too much unlike those of the intergalactic community, with meager lives only a fraction as long as yours, of flesh and blood and with hands and feet, spacedust given fleeting form. Only, Zarus himself isn't like other humans - at least, not to your or anyone else in the galaxy's knowledge. Zarus is the most powerful of all psykers in the galaxy. This is by far, no contest. He doesn't perform acts as directly lifting his enemies and sending them flying, no. His reality changing powers are matched only by his warped perspective and inflated ego. Many have tried to kill him, and the world itself bends over backwards to protect him. Bullets sheer by him, laser weapon systems malfunction as they pull the trigger, bombs spontaneously detonate before he enters their blast radius, and other psykers lose their powers as he draws near. Some speculate you could catch him off guard with orbital bombardment or destroying the very planet he stands on, but the empires of the galaxy know he is more precious alive than dead. If it weren't for his self-centered attitude and racial prejudice, he would have had any seat he desired in any empire of his choice, but he prefers the free life of a gun for hire.

If you were to believe the man himself, he was once part of a crew of fifty men sailing through the stars, incidentally struck by debris of an ancient errant missile smashing into a nearby asteroid. The lone survivor, he landed on a fertile planet in the process of colonization and took it as a sign he was still protected by his gods. The planet he refused to name, but rumor has it he calls his home the "mystic city of Agartha." Many have gone to search for it. Some empires are running vast intelligence operations to acquire any information they can about the city. You know better than to actively go and find a planet where there may be hundreds, thousands, millions of humans just as capable as Zarus in the psychic arts. Their elevation to a spacefaring race would upheave the order of the entire galaxy.

So of course, you came across the planet on pure accident.

One of your crewmembers remarked how you have been ordering them backward, that they should have laid groundwork for the world's politics and the colony beacon first. Nonsense. You had to make sure that the lifeforms on this planet would complicate matters- which, as you are all now well aware, they are very capable of. You are a larger form of life than others, and as such your ships are scaled to a large degree, but the common form of those sky beasts are comparable to one of your scouting ships in size, the largest of which is a rather large fraction of your superyacht's size; which is no small feat, and would nevertheless wreak havoc upon the exterior should it get close. Clearly they have never heard of looking before leaping.

Now that you have marked off certain regions as requiring clearance to even be near, you can perform more safer tasks. Now, you will humor that crew member by sending him on the scouting ship to identify and "acquire" some multilingual and knowledgeable Agarthans. The Agarthan tongue is familiar to you, so one of them is the easiest starting point to learning other languages and cultures.

It may be risky; none of your casual observations have shown the average human performing the reality-warping acts of Zarus, but perhaps they may not have been pressed to...

>Investigate Colony Beacon
Off to the forests of southern Agarthan territory, a thick natural border between the metropolitan area of the golden megacity and a nearby desert, there is a now overgrown crash site of a small colonizing ship of your origin. The initial scan of the area was bleak, but the scouting returned grim results.

Your kind descended onto this planet in the most haphazard and reckless fashion aboard this space-faring ship. It is mostly intact, but inside the ship are bodies snapped out of shape in ways even your kind cannot recover from. They clearly died on impact.

Most colonizer ships are staffed with a crew of 50, bearing themselves, capsules containing the future of your species, and relevant beacons to beckon the automated colonization system to wherever they deem fit to plant their roots. This vessel had no distinct mission, just to survey and mark outer regions of the galaxy for viable planets for assimilation into the empire and to lay the groundwork when they do. Whether or not these planets were occupied were of little import; the way your colonization works, hovering over the planet and beckoning resources hither would have been enough. Under zero circumstances should it have even attempted landing. Checking the itinerary, the crew included mostly standard volunteers and experts in colonization, but also a very peculiar VIP; an admiral of repute, one who had went missing nearly a decade ago on a personal leave.

After triple-checking the nearby surrounds, your crew has found 48 bodies of your kind. Between the horrific mangling of the bodies aboard and the natural decay of particular features, none of them are even remotely identifiable. Any survivors made zero attempt to seed this planet and zero attempt to escape it. No landing program or poor piloting can be the cause of this.

All in all, the report offers a chilling suggestion: someone with authority of the controls had put the nose down and said good night for themselves and everyone aboard. What would compel someone to perform such suicidal assassination has been beyond your kind for eons. To convince one of your own to end the lives of their peers is... unfathomable.

You dread that the perpetrator lived to tell the tale, and collect whatever reward they had on the admiral's head. Or that the Agarthans found the wreckage and extracted two bodies of your kind for whatever purposes they see fit. Frankly, you do not know which would be worse.

It’s a beautiful early Wednesday morning! All the love sessions have come to an end, and now you must return to the not-so-violent reality (because you’re cuddling with Beth); one in which you must keep your promise. You must go on a date with Celia. She even went through the trouble to remind you with a text. Not the best way to wake up, but a way to wake up nonetheless. You must fulfill even if you’re tired! And if! With the legendary Calamity Cola, you’ll be at 100% in a second…

You drink the evil beverage to recover all your stamina.

“Busy again?” Beth woke up as well.

“Yeah, sorry…” You lament.

“Relax, my beloved. I have you covered…” Beth snaps her fingers. “Don’t forget to return to me once again.”

You reappear at the front of the Prisoner’s house with your casual clothes on! Oh, and with a breakfast box. Looks decent. It’s like you were expelled out of Beth’s domain back to the silly real world…

It’s pretty clear that, with the thermostat still broken, it’d be better if you part ways — and do your own thing. The problem is that you weren’t here alone! Maybe you should ask them to bring those lovely people over?

What do you do?

Grand Zen-Oh, the omni king and ruler of the omniverse has declared there will be a massive tournament to be held in his honor. A grand affair between several universes, each battling it out for the very right to exist. And at the forefront of this grand spectacle will be the Saiyans of Universe 7, who Grand Zen-Oh has grown fond of watching battle. Twenty eight years ago, the Saiyan race were annexed into the PTO as just another race, one of many sent to conquer other worlds. Now, the Saiyans are widely regarded as the strongest warrior race in the entire Seventh Universe, defenders of the PTO led by their strongest, the “Dragon of New Salda” General Karn and his family.

You the players will (most often) control Karn. A man who has grown from his lowly beginnings as a Saiyan Brawler with a sub-3000 powerlevel in Age 733 to become not only the strongest Saiyan of his time at AGE 759, but also personal friend to the former emperor Lord Freeza, father to well over a dozen powerful and unique children, a mentor and teacher to his fellow Saiyans, and the best hope for his universe's continued survival. No one warrior can hope to battle eight other universes' strongest fighters alone and hope to prevail, one man's power and skill won't be enough to overcome the looming threat of extermination. But this coming battle will be the ultimate test of how you've lived your life until now, the choices you made not only for yourself, but for the fate of your entire universe.

I can see where he's coming from with that honestly. Did anybody in the League or from the world's various governments thing to clarify that with him at some point or...?
The actual planetary authority of a planet like "Earth" feels like something the General of the PTO should be aware of.

>>6342956
>I don't think I phrased it well. The space empire cares enough to almost IMMEDIATELY send down their representative when a single city's been destroyed and eliminating the culprit expediently shows the PTO is not only watching but cares about protecting the people.
We may be genocidal, but we won, and that means peace is finally kept. That's important.

You are Lieren of Nothing, philosopher of some renown, Hunter of some skill, Primarch of the 2nd legion of the emperor of mankind's space marines, grand architect and head of the Long-Jian ministry of development, friend of the oppressed, enemy of tyrants and husband of the living ship Kanzeon, among a great many other things, including dabbler of the secrets of the old ones and poet of some skill.

Presently, you are above an uncontacted world of a substrain of humanity, using a mixture of high technology and sheer telekinetic force to create a monument from the debris left behind by the skirmish with an ork fleet, combining together the metal hulls of the ships that were lost in the battle to form a monolith of burnt and sundered still, that Kanzeon is engraving with the names and histories of the crews of the ship. It is to honor their ultimate sacrifice for a cousin of mankind that had not even known they'd been threatened.

A cousin you shall soon meet personally, the envoys that were sent had all agreed that your presence and company would be most welcome as they traveled beneath the frozen surface of the unnamed world to meet with the representatives of the city states, that the aspirants of your legion had, while you and their senior and future astartes brothers waged war against the pirate fleet, had managed to get in contact with the abhuman race. They had taken your challenge to learn how to solve the communication barrier with a society that did not know the sky above their mines existed, yet alone of the worlds beyond their worlds with great gusto and had devised a novel means of breaking that barrier. Which they had done themselves, to prove it'd work. They'd started by sending dummy distress signals near to the surface, which allowed the abhuman miners to realize the source must be coming from beyond their world of rock and stone.

And then followed by sending transmission to the groups that had figured it out, and providing proof of a world beyond their mines. Somehow, this was not met with skepticism or derision by the rest of their societies, but rather a rush to be the first to make contact with the "Uplanders" as the underground dwellers called the aspirants and you supposed everyone else

There was some grumbling, when an Astartes that had been left on the planet to watch over and run the boys through drills had happened upon and discovered what the aspirants were getting up to, but the response from the rulers of the four blocs, which were formed by councils of elders that represented the interests and vendettas of various clans and families, had been one of intrigue and praise for such "Clever little beardlings".

The shifts in it's slumber shook minds, quaked foundations of logic, echoed across causality.

Yes! A drama-free picnic at the special recharge point is exactly what I need right now! And I might be able to increase my Meal Preparation skill!

Cady smiles at Ren and Deline. "Why don't we have a pool picnic?"

Ren blinks. "A picnic?"

"You mean at the waterfall pool behind the academy?" Deline presses her elbows against her sides and squirms in place. "That sounds like so much fun!" She stops and looks at Cady. "But what are we going to eat?"

"We can stop by the marketplace and pick up what we need." Cady smirks at Ren. "It'll be cheaper than the café!"

"That's very considerate, Princess." Ren looks up at Quadi. "You want to come with?"

Quadi slaps the power droid's top surface with a clunk. "Some of us have work to do."

Cady turns as they walk through the marketplace and holds up the bag in her hand toward Ren. "Um... thanks for buying this, Ren."

Deline peeks into the bag "What are you going to make with those yargle eggs if you're not going to cook them?"

"You'll find out when we eat!" Cady glances over her shoulder and quickly looks away from Ren's grin. As she does, a familiar nametag catches her attention.

"Master Cynto!" Fili is already looking at them when Deline calls and waves. "What are you doing here?"

Ren grins at Fili. "Even Jedi Masters have to go shopping, huh?"

Fili smiles at Ren and turns her hand up as Harn appears behind Cady. "We thought it might be nice to have a droid at the academy." Fili tilts her head toward Harn. "Any luck?"

One does not simply pass up th chance to see your hunky jedi instructor in the pool, Cady.

Besides it's not like this is an exclusive date with Ren since Deline is there and this will probably let Ren try to pitch the droid idea at them more so he should be down for it. (Assuming he's going hard with this to try and use the funds to buy Koe's contract?)

You see his face. Sharp razor slit eyes etched onto a hulking creature’s giant head, which would give children across the galaxy vivid nightmares, stare into your soul. It produces no feeling of horror or fear, nor any other natural response, because you know him. Those eyes that are locked onto yours are dulled, empty, lifeless. The vacant glare causes your heart to wither in your chest. It was you, you did this, you killed your closest friend. A man who has saved your life, and you killed him. Now his face is slack, muscles relaxed, and his eyes are barren; all that vigour and life that he carried around with him is forever gone, never to return.

It was your choice to kill him. Sith Lord Yvalok presented the options to you. During your months on Lao training as a Sith Acolyte you, Vulfstahn a child of the extinct Sith people, have shown a wild potency with the Force which is unequalled by your supposed peers. This rare talent caught Yvalok’s eyes and has him captivated with your development, wanting nothing more than to see you flourish. The ancient human decided to gift you hate through a choice: slay Urr’tal in a duel or watch as Yira gets gangraped. You gave the withered husk of a Human your answer. With a slash of your sword, you betrayed Urr’tal, ending all the myriad great possibilities he could have achieved in his prodigious lifespan.

The Sith Lord that would be nothing but a frail old man if not for his mastery of the dark side of the Force stands above you as thick red ichor spews from the Whiphid’s severed neck. Forced onto the hard durasteel floor by a burst of lightning, you are enveloped by the growing pool of your friend’s blood. His decapitated head rests in front of you, not able to steal your eyes away from the lifeless face as his matted fur stains from his bleeding. Yvalok monologues and lectures, but you can’t hear him. The unblinking eyes have stolen your world.

Good point either Hela is about to be demoted or taken on by another master unless she can secure the vacancy for herself, question is how do make this benefit us if it plays like that?

>the teachers are giving out private lessons to their favorites
It's frustrating we fumbled with Yvalok in the first thread because his test now seems like a clear hook for tutelage, hindsight is 20/20 and all but we could have seriously benefited from it. If we get the chance we should absolutely take the chance and go big with catching someone's Interest in the future if not proactively engaging them in gaining their tutelage.

Regarding Seyra we really need to check her advance or meet her gains in someway or she'll become a even worse problem to manage. The good news is that we aren't entirely dysfunctional with her and can at least prove that our plans work if everyone does their part and that she can "use" us.

Maybe we should just swallowed the ego for now and ask her to help improve our combat skills?
>>
>>6350265
I don't think its going to be in our favour, it's her cashing in on the lessons that have: Allowed us to humiliate Thane, survive the ambush and duel Seyra on reasonably even grounds.
We've already gained the benefits, time to pay up.

As for the Yvalok... Yea, but that guys a cunt.
And no, gods no, do not show weakness to that one. Do not show her anything but confidence and strength.
>>
>>6350265
Fuck Yvalok.
Pride comes before being humble under that cunt. We do as we wish, not as he wishes.

>Bend the knee to Seyra
No. Prison rules, we are currently on even footing. We made a whole song and dance about us being in charge and the consequences for contradicting us.

You'd undo ALL that we have worked on with her to now capitulate of OUR OWN FUCKIN' VOLITION! Unacceptable. Completely Unacceptable.

We have Hela as our tutor, use her, and use the fact that she's now out of protection to try and extort more lessons from her.
>>
>>6350087
I, for one, like the idea of inter-academy competition.

>>6350275
>>6350273
I also 100% agree: fuck Yvalok.
>>
>>6350273
I meant more the change in dynamic, weither it's hitching ourselves to her rise, or figuring out an angle to gain from her fall, returning the favor is simply a given in that.

>>6350275
I think I misspoke, I was thinking less a capitulation and more an exchange of skills, we have more talent in the force and by our own admission already during the duel, she is the better duelist, but if this undoes any of our hard gained work obviously this shouldn't go ahead.

OOC: Let me just preface this by saying this will be a short one shot. While there may be more in the future, please treat this as a stand alone story.

You awaken from a particularly fitful dream by a gentle nudging at your shoulder.

"... Red. Little Red, it's time to wake up. It's not good to sleep in. I have an errand for you."

The voice is soft and maternal, but wholly unfamiliar. Internally, you resist the call to wakefulness, but the person trying to nudge you awake is persistent.

You open your eyes and find yourself in a little cottage. There is a bed for one person opposite the one you're lying in, looking like it was freshly made.

It's kind of early to end the thread though, we're still pretty high on page 1 while 4chan only deletes after page 10 but that is up to you. Just know you can't have more than (I think) two active at a time and a thread is active until it drops of from board 10 whether or not people post in it

Sadly, I've only prepared one adventure for now, so I'll need some time to make more plot beats. It could be a couple of weeks, but it could also be a month or so.

Also you're correct in that Black Pete is based on Zwarte Piet

I think it is three active quests at a time. Modpost says it is five, but I'm pretty sure it is three.

I'll get around to feedback some other time. Thanks for running this though.

You are the self-proclaimed KING of the WASTELAND.

Ever since the great BIG BOOM in the far off year of 2007, the world has gotten pretty nasty–ruins and mutants litter the desert wasteland all around you, roving bands of warlord kings and factions in all sorts of endless wars.

You never did much mind, though, as you kept to yourself in your reclusive “castle” (a pre-BIG BOOM convenience store) with your friend and roommate, DUKE NASU, watching one of your 24 copies of SUPERBAD (2007) and pumping iron–that is, at least, until a demolition company drove up to your front door.

You found out your castle was apparently on land that fell under the titleship of a “GUN KING”, who sought to evict you and bulldoze it into the ground. You took ownership of the demolitionist’s wrecking ball and drove out to the GUN KING’S castle to confront him on the matter.

You managed to infiltrate his castle whereupon you engaged in one-on-one combat with the king, PANZER GRAAD–however, defeating him only led to the appearance of another freak, the “MUTANT KING,” who kidnapped your dear friend DUKE NASU to bring him to its kingdom. You need to get him back.

"Better how?" The guy asks.

"Um... I like the subtle sweetness. The fruity taste really evokes memories of summer, I think. Sorry, I'm not too big of an expert. Well, I told you already, haha..." You scratch your head, looking down apologetically.

"Zenji-kun, we might have struck a gold vein here," Sumi says, putting a hand to her chin, with a mischievous smirk.

"It's also important to express your thoughts clearly," Kodachi says, still serious, but with a somewhat more gentle look in her eyes. "You'd be a good member, I think. Want me to give you an application form?"

"Um... I'd like to know more about you guys before I decide," you say. "What... do you even really do? Just drink tea?"

"We also eat Japanese sweets that we purchase with part of our club budget," the guy replies.

"Don't listen to him, he just really likes sweets," Kodachi says. "The most important thing we do is participate in tea ceremonies. Admiring the calligraphy while drinking tea, contemplating philosophy, preparing tea in special ways... the ceremony is the heart of this club."

"Don't listen to her!" Sumi says. "Don't get scared away by this, Motoharu-kun. It's really quite intuitive once you learn the basics." Kodachi rolls her eyes at Sumi's words, but says nothing. "Anyway, we taste various flavours! It's really a huge world of these out there! Ahh, sharing a taste of tea with someone - it's the best feeling!"

Faces unfamiliar to you pass by, speaking in a tongue of gibberish that is only partially comprehensible. Half of them wear tribal attire of losers larping as tribal warriors, but their cosmetic scars and muscles were way too refined to be just costumes. The sky rolls in a color you've never seen before.

“Your Highness?” You're snapped out of your bickering by Malcador’s worried tone. “Right, that… Honestly I didn't expect it to be so potent, really.” ‘Or for it to be a beacon at all’ “I'll have to make some adjustments to its specifications it seems.” It's probably fixable anyhow ‘I wouldn't count on it.’ You bemoan to yourself the unending interjections and decide on your next question to Malcador

“Is that how you found me?” “Yes lord. I tried following the pulse immediately after it was fired, but I could only reach so far before being abruptly cut off. Your psychic defenses are formidable, If I hadn’t managed an Invitation from one of your commanders I would’ve never had reached you like I did.” So now the custodes need a psychic countermeasure, I still need to know how and what he did to get that.

“And how did you manage to get one in such a short time?” “It was blackmail, lord. After having heard the soldiers complain about being “held back” and “wasting their potential” I surmised that you must have ordered them to not attack the villagers and civilian population, for which I am extremely grateful, and stipulated my help be conditional on our meeting. They obviously denied the first 2 times, but after the Empire’s assault on your forces they begrudgingly agreed to tell me where your base was.”

‘That never should’ve happened.’ Will you shut up for once! You glare at your ghost behind malcador.

“Hmm… you’re quite the resourceful man, Malcador.” “Your words honor me, my Lord.” “But you must also have concerns, questions of your own as well right? Tell me.” Malcador stiffens at your question, looking around him as if to make sure you’re alone. Your ghost, still alert and judgemental, is no longer there.

Once he’s sure he turns to you with a worried expression “Your Lordship, I don’t want to alarm you, but there may be a parasite or parasites feeding on your soul!” It starts slow, a little giggling that builds up into laughter which morph into full on cackling.

Malcador looks on incredulously, together with the look of utter disappointment from your ghost beside him, as your sides are banished into the warp for what malcador just told you. You laugh like never before for several more minutes before your humor finally dies down. “Whew, I had no Idea I was needing that, thank you Malcador” “You’re… welcome, your majesty?” “But settle your concerns. No, I don’t believe I’m being parasitized, despite how he behaves himself with me.” “You have absolutely no right to judge me after this.” Malcador gets startled by the ghost physically manifesting beside him, the first time he does so to anyone other than yourself or anywhere outside your study.

Dogadu: Human, male, beggar, middle aged, no criminal record, index finger missing, disfigured, thirty four years old. unwashed clothes, six children (beggars), fungal infection on bare feet, dead wife.

"This fine specimen of human dreg was caught stealing from my fine dining establishment. His very unkempt existence had tarnished my reputation by miring my property with his filthy presence! The food crate contained undesirable cuts of Zetif darkwings. Perfectly edible for elves but they are known to poison lesser races like humans, their blood can not handle the acidic nature of this delicacy. Iudex, make an example of this vagrant. I wish not for his kin to loiter around my property."
Vaeth Lofr: Ash Elf, Two hundred and seven years old, female, hosted a feast for Imperata Muvinus once, killed a pregnant woman (Tiefling) in self defense seventy years ago, no criminal record, Ashen cuisine, one of the seventy two survivors of the Stellavigi elven massacre, Burn marks on left arm.

Evidence: Conclusive, several eyewitnesses, well detailed reports from the guards.

>>Cinvictus: Two questions to be asked to either parties.

For hundreds of cycles, the galaxy has been in turmoil, the fall of an empire once thought eternal dooming trillions to a thousand different dooms. Threats once thought banished forever to the infinite darkness between the stars rising up to savage defenseless worlds or subjugate their populations into slavery under inhuman masters. Petty warlords carving out swathes of territory before setting it ablaze in brutal wars of conquest. The peace and stability of the Empire long forgotten, burned to ashes in a million different conflicts on the surface of a million different worlds.

Not you however. Through luck, chance or perhaps the intervention of forgotten gods, your people have survived the long darkness of the collapse and have emerged. Your glorious histories may have been forgotten in the millenia since the fall but the ink is ready to record your future deeds. Whether through luck, guile or martial excellence, your people will prosper and with luck, seize the mantle cast aside in the fall.

>You are...

>The Grand Regent of the Imperial Remnants. Your ancestors fought their way free of the chaos of the fall, you cannot allow the horror they endured to be for nothing.

>The Warlord of the Confederated Territories. Your people were left to die, alone and forgotten. You refused to die then, you refuse now. Death before servitude.

>The Eternal Empress of the Jade Shogunate. Your birthright is imperial nobility, the honor of your ancestors demands you reclaim your just due.

>The Admiral of the Black Fleet. (ALL DATA REDACTED) YOU HUNGER... YOU THIRST...

Howdy bros, I'm back. I wanted to continue RimQuest, but the combination of an artist shafting me, Rimworld 1.6 breaking all of my saves, life events, and depression have fucked that into the dirt. So instead here's something new.

These are the dark years of the occupation. Gordon Freeman is still just a story passed between cells, squads, strangers, and couples. In this moment in time there's only you, a lone human working to resist the Combine occupation however you see fit and remain able. There will be an Uprising someday, this you're sure of, but the path there lies on the other side of lakes of blood and considerable effort on the part of unsung warriors like you.

It had felt like days since you last saw the sun back outside the outskirts of City 11. The awful stench of the sewers and cisterns which meandered under the streets of what used to be Berlin forced you to find something to plug your nose with almost immediately upon beginning your infiltration. Deep regret at leaving the accommodations, spartan as they were, of the Resistance base north of the city had massaged your mind, but failed to slow your occasionally-soggy step through the barely-lit darkness.
All this had a purpose, you reminded yourself. In the newspeak of the Combine you are an Anticitizen, a Malignant, the malformed cell that starts the cancer, the one that sets the spark which will light the torch of humanity's liberation. Or, in more plain terms, the crazy fucker that volunteers to go back into the Cities in order to bring contraband in, people out, and start up new resistance cells along the way. If there were some omniscient statistician in the sky, he could have given you odds of survival that would have seen you sit your ass back down in Finow when they called for somebody to replace Parks's sector after his presumed loss, but all the same, it needed to get done. The whole goddamned species was at stake, with a biological time limit that edged closer to expiration every year and a planet slowly being strangled of its life. If this generation didn't stop them, there would be no other. Never in human history had there been as existential and desperate a struggle as the one you now trudged through obscure German shit-tunnels to wage.

It had only been half a day since you entered the sewer system when you reached your target. A junction in the tunnels marked by a chalk marker and a lone, white coffee mug. The route into this part of the city was prepared beforehand by a two-man reconnaissance team, people with equipment and experience too valuable for you to know or to be risked with the next, most dangerous part of City infiltration. You were briefed that they left you a red bag full of necessaries to help you along on your mission from here, hidden in a storeroom near the marker.
