>>97360345Thanks anon, I was wondering if this liver move develops bad habits and whether I should get rid of it. Analysis says it's fine though.I just googled it now and realized that originally you were supposed to mate with the queen, and not just fork with the knight. I'm sure I saw it somewhere before but I've arrived at it independently, more or less. Neat.
So my DND group was kind of disolving, 2 out of the 4 players left because of life issues (one got a job abroad and the other one is dealing with life), to keep playing we incorporated 2 new players with not so much experience but avid watchers of Critical Role. One of these player conditions was that we incorporate x cards to the game, she says that it makes it much more comfortable for her to know she can avoid unpleasant story elements having this tool. I started to read a bit about it online and is this something you guys have used? In my 20 years playing I've never used this.
>>97364868No, it wasn't a spear IRL. Hunting accident with firearms. What mattered was suddenly being responsible for killing his father-figure and having that horrifying moment of guilt and panic as the man's life slipped away. At least, that was my read on the situation while I tried to help my friend calm down.
>>97364740>What communication tool do you propose for someone who wasn't expecting a given scenario in a game and it's too afraid to speak up despise having a bad momentPhysically can't exist. Communication of any form requires the bravery to open a dialogue in the first place. Shy people don't have that, so there's nothing that can be done for them. It's entirely a "them" issue, and it's a problem they have to solve within themselves.

>>97364779Good point. I ask cause I'd like to meet him abd talk about how he came up with the orcs. Plus, i like the burgers but the Bongs are real sound and far easier to reach right now
>>97364788They remind me more of Roman gladiators than orcs. Some of the gladiator types (for lack of a better word) and the equipment they used were inspired by enemies from Rome's history. It's actually kinda cool that Fantasy has something analogous to that.
Tell us about /YourDudes/:>Greatest Victory?>Worst Defeat?>Where they hail from, or where they might be (currently) heading too?>Who or what leads them and keeps the warriors in check?>Do they have a goal other than 'survive for another day'?
>>97364822Pit fighters have been in Warhammer since at least WFRP and Warhammer Quest but it's very much a background thingif i rember correctly, Remas has a massive one, unsurprisingly called the Great Coliseum
>>97364822>They remind me more of Roman gladiatorsWell, that's obvious, but something about them looks way more brutal than normal gladiators to me, it can't be just the heroic proportions and big weapons, can it?
What’s the edgiest tabletop game of all time
>>97350778>Universalist NationalismHe didn't say that at all in the post, what are you talking about?
>>97364495Christianity is a universalist worldview that explicitly erases national, ethnic and even familial ties."Christian nationalism" is as self-contradictory as nazbol or civnat nonsense. These are just psyops being pushed on reactionaries leaning towards nationalism to keep them on the universalist plantation.
>>97364495Christianity is universalist (non-members are encouraged to convert) unlike Judaism or Paganism which are/were ethnic religions with restrictions on how someone can join them.
>>97355005I know Mock Man mostly draws D&D and equivalent campaigns, but I want to see him try premade adventures from other systems. Or maybe they're not as entertaining.
>>97364865I didn't just mean that it proselytizes, but that it holds universal absolute moral values applicable to all individuals at all time in all contexts, whereas nationalism is a form of moral particularism which maintains different standards for the in-group than for the out-group.Jews are famously hyper-nationalistic (they rely on their chrisitan branch for proselytization to gentiles). As for pagans, that is such a large category that it really depends on who you're referring to. Hellenists certainly encouraged foreigners to worship their gods and presented Zeus as the ruler of the cosmos, and the Romans were famous for their syncretism, but neither were moral universal absolutists in the sense christianity is.

>>97364336It is sorta funny that the best Retaliation users are all Raid users so essentially Red is the best user of the concept.
>>97364370Honestly, I'm pretty sure they invented Execute solely so they could print retal-execute and not have to splash red for everything.
>>97364515I'd actually place money that you're correct. It obviously evolved into a more complex beast but it really does feel like Execute was just a way to hit more things with Retaliation then benefit from it.
Isnt the currently game getting more focus in the end of the turn phase?
>>97364584Yeah especially with all the keywords and strong effects that trigger at EoT. With some decks its fine since it allows you to make plays at low memory or softly encourages you to spend a lot more so you aren't able to choke all the time. With other decks its a mistake.
Tabletop RPGs tend to split up crafting into a high number of crafting subskills for every individual area of expertise. There's no question that crafting is still extremely powerful despite forcing you to go through this hassle, but what are your thoughts on which particular crafting subskills tend to be the most useful in the context of a TTRPG campaign, be it a medieval or modern or sci-fi setting?Pic related is from Legend of the Five Rings, where I'll be playing a crafter soon, and I intend to invest heavily into crafting. But feel free to talk about any game you've had experience with.
>>97362482>>97362507Works great in my game. This isn't even the only way to represent a character that makes his own gear btw
>>97362621False. There isn't any item in particular that the GM wants or needs you to have.
>>97362482Siegecraft. Because leveling the place from safe distance should always be an option.
>>97363242Wouldn't be a problem at all in my game. Players 1 to 3 are probably all exploring different dungeons.
There is literally no problem that can't be solved with crafting.

>>97364539didn't play against stealth suits, but i played against vespid and they seemed squishy against my kommandos, positioning matters more than other teams because of their hive-mind target selection
>>97364539Both are unusual teams (Vespid with universal fly and XV28 with stealth fields)But probably fine as long as you bear in mind that you're gonna be learning some parts of the game 'wrong'Also be aware that Vespid suffer hard on ITD/TW boards where fly does jack shit, and XV28 are on the weaker side balance wise atm
>>97364539Vespids are unusual but work from what I've heard, because the thing that looks most obvious is often what is best to do. There is a bit of nuance to them, but you'll do completely fine going balls to the walls as long as you get to shoot before you die.Stealth suits are a different story. I've yet to get much experience with them but they can't just trade openly like most teams and need to be very careful about distances and enemy options, on top of being vulnerable to mistakes with their few models. They're fascinating, but are a completely different game than other teams for both player and opponent.
>>97364490Thanks a lot. I was looking at the plague marines and they seem like a fun kill team to paint and kitbash with death guard hh kits.
