I feel like this edition has alot of objectively bad things about it and is absolutely where the alot of worst qualities of current editions showed up. But I feel like I prefer playing this edition compared to a lot of previous editions and 10th edition. Its a weird transitional period where there's still a lot of the old units that haven't been legended yet while still having the fucking Primaris lot. Its strange but I don't feel like I'm missing out on much staying on this edition and playing with friends casually instead of going back to playing the current edition.

Everyone I know who watches Fatt Coville videos is a fucking terrible GM. I've never fully watched one and I am widely considered the best GM out of all 3 groups I'm part of. I am regularly requested to run campaigns. People borderline fall asleep in the games others run. There's also no tension because they know that these Coville acolytes will fudge rolls until all PCs survive the battle.

If you're a good GM, it's an inmate talent you can hone over time. You're born that way. If you aren't, then no amount of shitty advice is going to make up for your lack of talent. It just is what it is. This idea that everyone should "try" DMing is retarded. The idea that anyone can be good at it? lolno. Its like some fat divorced on who suddenly decides he's gonna become a famous author. Fat chance. Most people fucking suck at GMing. Hell, most of them suck at playing, but at least in that case the game depends less on them.

So all those shitty FDM prints I have seen in the past are just people rushing their printing?
I bought an A1 Mini a week ago with a .2 nozzle and the quality is quite decent but scenery printed with the stock .4 nozzle is simply stellar.
Printing a 12cm tall statue took me 5 hours and print lines are almost invisible. My settings are literally a hotchpotch of random tips and tricks from r*ddit so I can only imagine the quality you can achieve with a proper setup.
Resin printing remains superior when it comes to printing minis but I don't see myself buying terrain ever again for a reason other than unique design.

Mostly, also there are many older pics on the net with shittier printers, or people who wasn't aware of, or didn't bother with, better settings. And cameras pick up prints lines much more than your eyes.

It printed fine for me when I had one, and the software side has gotten so good that they should print now better than they ever did.
But they have a rather rough 50 micron screen, so anti alias is probably a must and so it will not reach quite the details that most newer machines can get easily.

Thing is, I do not know if that one supported wait time before printing or if you had to use a workaround. Waiting for the plate to settle against the pressure of the resin is something that only became widely used after some generations and helps loads with printing.

>>97234221
Yes. Elegoo is one of the better brands and the Mars is a fine (if small) machine. Please tell me you didn’t buy second hand though- if so you will likely need to swap in a fresh FEP and/or screen and that will like;y set you back most as much as a new printer, if you don’t own them already.

>As part of this action "Green-Flame Blade" you make a (only one) melee attack ("Roll d20 + attack bonus+ Whateveryouhave) against a foe in your range of the spell (5 feet), I suggest that you want to hit Orci

>OPTION A:

>You hit Orci (make damage, +whatever your attack makes)
> The magic green fire of the mighty green blade enlightens the poor Orci with incredible hurting flames - flames from hell - and jumps (without hurting Orci) to Morci
> Morci gets damage in height of your spellcasting modifier (6.) At higher Levels you would roll a +dX additionally

Merry Christmas everyone!

What should I play / modify if I want to run Dark Souls? Specifically like a super dungeon crawl, old-school on a grid.

I want to run something people can drop in and out of, and something where I don't have to think about plot, just focus on mechanics. I thought the Undead from DS was a perfect fit for this - stick with one character who can die over and over. Focus on map design, enemy placement and behaviour, and big set-piece boss encounters.

I know there's a few systems out there, by all accounts Dark Souls RPG is dogshit. I don't need anything with RP elements, just something that will feel good on a grid; something with that reactive/dodge+block based combat. I've thought about ways to adapt 5e, 3.5, PF, but not sure how to get that 'speed and spacing' kinda combat.

My game.
Unironically.
>>
>>97228830
I played one of the fanmade Dark Souls RPGs (by Galletto) and found it terrible in most aspects outside of the core mechanics, so I changed everything about how stats and items work until I was happy. Good parts:
>reactive/dodge+block based combat
Does it. You count your actions throughout the turn and calculate how many you can spend on attacking and how many you have to spend on defence to minimise damage and take out attackers before the big dice come rolling in. I upgraded it by turning it into a roll/keep system where you get to choose your dice to keep from a pool.
>don't need anything with RP elements
Does it. Just throw out the handful of things that "mandate" RP – my players often don’t care about it anyway and it works fine.
Bad points:
>feel good on a grid
No grid, zone-based combat instead, similar to range bands but for the whole party. I added some simple movement rules where depending on the room there might be multiple battle maps to move between or some other gimmicks. By default, the zones are not interesting tactically – you have to put in work with enemy and room gimmicks and change a lot of weapon rules to make the Forward Ring worthwhile and Back Ring ranged attackers not boring. I can post some more if this interests people, it’s a work in progress but at least I have a hundred pages of content already.

anyone in the mood of generating, if you are up for it, "Thalassymphai* (Θαλασσύμφαι)" one image or one where its calm and the other when angered;

"A strange and otherworldly being from the aqueous realms of the Upper Planes. From the waist up, it possesses a humanoid torso, arms, and head, but this is a facade of unsettling grace. Its skin shimmers with impossible, shifting aquatic hues—iridescent blues that melt into abyssal violet, greens that flash with metallic gold, and faint bioluminescent patterns that drift across its form independent of the light. Long, fluid hair flows around its head as if perpetually submerged, often braided with pearls and planar sea-glass.

Its lower body is a flowing mass of six powerful, octopus-like tentacles, their undersides lined with subtle suckers. In moments of peace or curiosity, its eyes hold the shifting, fathomless colors of a deep ocean. Its hands are webbed, with fingers that seem almost delicate.

But this placid state is a mask. When threatened or angered, a frightening transformation occurs: its eyes pool into voids of solid black, its fingers split to reveal sharp, retractable claws of horn-like material, and its mouth distends to uncover a hard, parrot-like beak capable of shearing metal. This shift reveals the creature's true, alien nature—beautiful not in a conventional sense, but in the way a deep-sea anglerfish or a gossamer jellyfish is beautiful: fascinating, elegant, and utterly, primally horrifying in its complete otherness.

It is a creature of dual impressions: from a distance, a mesmerizing figure of planar myth; up close, an unsettling amalgam that whispers of the silent, predatory vastness of the deep."

>What is /awg/?
A thread to talk about minis and games which fall between the cracks, or peoples' homebrew wargames.
The >>>/tg/hwg thread doesn't entertain fantasy (for good reason) and the other threads are locked to more specific games.
This thread isn't tied to a game, a publisher, or a genre, let's just talk about fun wargames. Any scale, any company, any miniatures.

>Examples of games that qualify.
A Song of Ice and Fire, Argatoria, Batman Miniature Game, Carnevale, Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings,
Deadzone, Dragon Rampant, Dropfleet and Dropzone Commander, Freebooter's Fate, Frostgrave, Gaslands, HeroClix,
Kings of War, Maelstrom's Edge, Malifaux, Marvel Crisis Protocol, Masters of the Universe: Battleground, Moonstone,

I’m considering using it to make DIY versions of kill zone terrain.

Is there a resource out there that provided blueprints/dimensions for official kill zone terrain sets?
