It can’t just be about the money because during the TSR era they shoved all the artists like Brom into one room and made them work for peanuts.

>>97404747Pretty sure Ditty made his bones drawing Monstrous Manual art first, but either way he admits himself that he was fresh out of art school, so he could hardly expect to make Big 4 money, no. I think by the time he got Planescape as an effectively solo project he must've been making more, however, since at that point his art was an actual draw, a selling point.(Ref.: https://diterlizzi.com/behind-the-monstrous-manual-part-1/)

Sure why not, let's see if we can't update you to Dreadnought by the end of the campaign.Ymgarl Genestealer? Sure why not, go stand next to the Terminator, you guys will get along like Alien and Predator.Greater Unclean One!? Fuck yeah, we need a guy with spunk like you to hold the sacred Writ of Trade! One of them must have had a Gellar Field failure at some point or another.
We don't really need to homebrew this stuff, but I just got the chance to skim the Inquisition GM's Book for Imperium Maledictum and I'm shocked that they imported all the Radical tendencies from the Radical's Handbook. Come on, now. The Macharian Sector is on the other side of Terra from the Calixis Sector; why would Ocularians or Phaenonites be present there? At least give them Macharian-specific names! I came up with some Puritan and Radical factions for my own sector, though we only ever dealt with two of them and the rest never had to be mentioned. They're not super unique, but at least they were original. Couldn't C7 have paid for 4 or 5 unique names? >THE BLACK BADGEA minor Puritan faction with fewer than a dozen Inquisitors and Interrogators, the Black Badge's ranks are filled exclusively with former Arbitrators and Imperial legal prelates. The Black Badges are identified solely by the mailed fist emblem they stamp upon their bolt casings. Though publicly they may declare a false allegiance to one or no faction at all, the Black Badges are united by their past experience as lawbearers in rooting out corruption and taint amongst the great of the Imperium. >MAGISTERIANSOf a kind with other minor factions found wherever the influence of the Inquisition waxes strong, Magisterian Inquisitors propose that, as they already wield ultimate power, they should rule the Imperium itself. >HOMO VERITASLittle regarded by most Inquisitors, Homo Veritas is a faction teetering on the knife's edge of acceptability. Unwilling to abandon Mankind to its fate, the Inquisitors of this minor and isolated faction have a special interest in the abhuman and mutant underclass of the sector. Given their taint and greater vulnerability to heretical and malefic influences, Inquisitors should spend as much or more time within their accursed hovels as among the hives of the untainted.

What would happen if someone with the Pariah gene was sacrificed to the Emperor? I doubt anything like that has ever happened in lore for many reasons but would do you think would happen? Would the Emperor be harmed? Get the psychic equivalent of indigestion?
Why has the Imperium lost so much tech from the Dark Age? If they still have some of it why can't they copy it?

However, I read this novel "Gate of Bones" and it features 3 Custodes who singlehandedly rally an army of Guard and Sisters to fight-off a Chaos Marine invasion. They actually use their minds and diplomacy, playing into the Sisters' fanaticism in order to get them to do what they want (there's a funny scene of the Sisters fangirling over them, and they mock them on their internal voxes, but decide to go along with it). They also use their logistics/planning skills to tell the Guard colonel what to do.

What is a good tabletop RPG that is easy to run and prep for someone who is a new gm but has experience playing in games before?
>>97392250The dungeon also forces you into prepping best habits. You put the room there. You should have set direction for the room. I'm not saying to write florid descriptions, but you need at least some set direction that says what's there, and how it can mechanically be interacted with.I agree that agendas provide the best framework for improvisation at the table.i just think that as a rule, improvised material is lower quality than prepared material, and you're doing your players a disservice if you don't write set direction where you can.
This is an amazing starter RPG, as is anything within the "End of the World" system. Prep is easy too>Gather friends to play>"There are zombies outside the house right now and trying to break in, what do you do?"Fun part is if they manage to survive the initial outbreak there's whole sections to deal with long term campaigns.
>>97391161Let's just say I love white, anon.(I would assume, say, two experienced Paranoia players in the group can steer the group into the right mindset. But while Paranoia isn't complex, it definitely has a style that the GM should be conveying).

Instead of a quantitative stat to track/set the win condition (like mtg's life, ygo's LP), the cards themselves can be used, similar to pokemon's prize cards, duel master's shields, or digimon's securities. The major advantage to this not needing extra accessories to play the game. With pokemon, both players start with 6 prize cards, and then draw them when they KO the other player's pokemon. This leads the player who is gaining more advantage to gain even more advantage.Duel masters and digimon solve this by treating the prize cards as shields, and instead have the disadvantaged player draw the card to facilitate catching up.A similar form of this can be implemented in frenopolis, but in reverse of duel masters/digimon: instead of starting with a pool of prize/security/shield cards, you can instead build up to them, and this building process can fluctuate. Because the color pie is so strictly defined in frenopolis, each card type can be treated as the element it belongs to. An obvious win condition would be to capture 1 of each element (elemental equilibrium). For example:You could get the:Fire Element:by removing an Entity (Fire) in combatComment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>97402586The player who had their Entity (Fire) removed, would either:1.) Put the face-down card in their avatar's fire element zone into their Hand.2.) If they don't have one, then they draw a card from their deck. This way there is both a catch-up mechanic for gaining disadvantage, and also a tug-of-war/back and forth for the establishment of the win condition, vaguely similar to digimon's resource system combined with duel master's shield system. There is also additional level of strategy to deprive the other player of an element they need (which can only be prolonged until they directly attack you). You would win by building up to 4 “prize” cards, one of each element. It also opens up significant design space based on avatar equilibrium. This allows for the removal of the generic card draw effect on all avatars, extra game accessories, tuning/balancing of avatar's time/life stat, and also the avatar's stat and symbol. It requires giving structure's stat (formerly equilibrium) a new name.picrel is how you would denote equilibrium. shown would be a win condition, all 4 elements.
>>97402586>>97402591did some playtesting with this change, it's good. it requires changing some effects that change avatar time (no defunct stat) to effects that interact with avatar equilibrium. this win condition adds a unique and interesting dimension to gameplay. much better than a quantitative stat imo. games last about 30-40min.
