Hello! Where can I find the pdfs for Fabula Ultima?
Welcome to /wbg/, the official thread for the discussion of in-progress settings for traditional games. Here is where you go to present and develop the details of your worlds such as lore, factions, magic and ecosystems. You can also post maps for your settings, as well as any relevant art (either created by you or used as inspiration for your work). Please remember that dialogue is what keeps the thread alive, so don't be afraid of giving someone feedback or post whatever relevant input you might have!Last thread: >>97165346Resources for Newfags: https://sites.google.com/view/wbgeneral/Worldbuilding links: https://pastebin.com/JNnj79S5 (embed) (embed)https://cryptpad.fr/pad/#/2/pad/view/Eo+fK41FKVR7xDpbNO0a0N4k0YYxrmyrhX3VxnM14Ew/Fantasy map generator: https://watabou.itch.io/medieval-fantasy-city-generator/wbi/: https://discord.gg/6ZjEc7dy4TWorldbuilding Hub: https://discord.com/invite/wGjxK3YThe Writer's Forge: https://discord.com/invite/CUxHxWqTira: https://discord.com/invite/f52W6KgComment too long. >>97372959The City is primarily biological though many of it's technologies and especially it's foundations incorporate inorganic materials to them or are outright mechanical in nature. The City is powered by massive underground power plants and is built upon ferrous bone supports that dig deep into the crust of the earth. The roots of the City spread far and wide and leech off materials from the soil into the City's biosphere.
>>97374829It's not. Actually maladaptive traits automatically breed themselves out.
>>97374970Then why does diabetes and Down Syndrome still exist?
>>97374829I really don't think something like forcefully sterilizing all people with a genetic disorder would be a serious possibilty outside of a dictatorshipHell, even the nazis tried to hide their own eugenics programs
>>97375067Because they're not maladaptive enough to die out faster than they reproduce. It's why humans aren't living for 200+ years, aside from accidents and illness unrelated to aging. We have never lived long enough for the laundry list of issues that crop up with age to become a problem. You wouldn't sweat having your dick shrivel up and fall off at 250, if you can barely make it to 70.Similarly, people with 'beetus fuck, and have children, and those children inherit their faulty genes.Basically, what you're looking for is either aborting pregnancies with that extra chromosome, for which retards and bible-thumpers will have you torched.Or, instead, you can quietly exacerbate all those diseases until people die from them before they get a chance to propagate their condition. So, turn diabetes into "super-diabetes" that kills you before the onset of puberty, and you'll see a sharp drop in diagnosed cases of type 1 diabetes. All because "muh aborshun is mordur" retards and selfish cunts refuse to put the rubber on and spare the next generation from suffering like they did.…now I kind of want to be a biomancer of some sort conducting eugenics experiment on a kingdom's population with the purpose of creating more mages.Sounds like a good cloak and dagger type campaign, depending on whether the 'mancer is the designated villain or not.

>>97373883When Kill Team first came out they used it to repackage old stock that wasn't selling which meant combining 40k units that were about to go to online only with bits of terrain nobody bought. So for example there was an orange box that was like 10 Genestealers with a piece of trentch or 5 Blightlord Terminators with two pieces of broken statue and a big sewer grate and so on. The idea being that you buy each kill team for more variety and you also build up terrain. But then Commanders happened and people went "hang on is this just trying to trick people into playing 40k?" and thats when the edition started to wither on the vine and they took the game back to the drawing board for the "we measure in shapes" version that was itself quickly replaced.
Games Workshop does not "repackage old stock."That is one of the oldest and dumbest myths in the hobby, constantly recycled by pseuds.
Oh, ok, I remember those. I think I may have even bought the Genestealer one lmao. I definitely bought the GSC Acolytes one. But as the other anon says they were never really "giving terrain away," they were just trying to make attractive package deals.I'm still baffled by the "trench" though. The Genestealers came with a munitorum container sprue. The GSC came with Sector Fronteris stuff. The grate and rubble was the Sector Sanctoris set. But I can't find a "trench" of any kind lol.
I would love that elevated grate for my Necromunda table (but not the churchy rubble as much). I wonder if this has ever shown up in a MTO yet.

I've found from the grapevine that Jes Goodwin is soon to retire from Games WorkshopHe really is the king. His concept sketches and absolutely timeless work on mk7 Space Marines and the Eldar particularly are worthy of the highest praise. His influence will be sorely missed, though with how miniatures are often 3+ years in the pipeline before being seen on shelves, his legacy will continue.
>>97368722>'kids'Yeah, alright, 'gramps'. Go back to browsing r/I'm14andthisisdeep.
>>97361569Meh. He *was* the king, then he happily took GW's sheckles to piss on his own legacy with Primaris. I'll always enjoy looking over his sketchbook and it's a shame they only published the one, but I'd have more respect for him if he'd chosen to bow out when some corpo shitberg came to him and said>Hey there buddy, uh, if you could just design us a complete new range of Space Marines with lots of tacticool faggotry to appeal to CODkiddies and support our planned upcoming brutal back-alley raping of the setting, that'd be great thaaaanks
>>97361569his daughter is still working at GW
>>97369724But Primaris aren't tacticool. Mk7 in particular is, in addition to stealing Vader helmet too so it can trigger Star Wars memberries among kids and having only tacticool and ultramarine bits on the sprue. It's Mk10 which is knightly and chock full of jousting shields and gothic trinkets on spuresPhobos units were made to appeal to Mk7 fans and help them cope with Marines becoming more gothic overall
>>97374627Isn't Mark 10 visually nearly the same thing as Mk 4 'Maximus' armour, the variant they issued and was being phased in just before the Horus Heresy? Mark 5 is less a true mark but 'what can we scrap together with these resource shortages?', Mark 6 was intended as more a specialist variant for light, stealth and recon Marines then a general replacement; and Mark 7 was more of a refinement of Mark 5+6 to compensate for flaws in the resource-starved years of the Heresy.Whilst Mark 10 combines the intended system designs of Mark 4 with the enhanced plating developed for Mark 8. It's more 'finally getting back to the design intent that was derailed by the heresy' then it is 'new thing'.
Douchemachine used to be the largest competition to GW. Now look at it and laugh

The staff has a grapefruit-colored orb attached to one end, and can be used to cast the Scrying spell. However, the orb houses a malicious intent and will attempt to feed into its user's paranoia and baser desires. Any Scrying done while this item is cursed will be misrepresented by the orb in order to trick the user into acting in an evil way.

What kind of obsessions or hobbies would vampires or other undead have? They don't need to worry about time so money or the time needed to learn a skill wouldn't matter to them. Would they stay with the games/hobbies of their mortal youth or do you think they would gravitate to whatever would be popular in each era?

The first group I ever put in the tomb crawled one after another completely through the mouth. Whole party wiped.
>>97374144It was a tournament module. Groups would play it during conventions and compete to see who got furthest in and got the most treasure while losing the fewest characters.
>>97374144Gygax created it specifically because his group said he was making dungeons that were too easy. It's intended as a challenge dungeon to see how far you can get or how you can outwit the traps. Same logic behind games like Nethack.
>>97375049gathering context clues it seems the entire gimmick is to not actually run the dungeon, but circumvent it entirely?
So I tend to run high-powered games with lots of homebrew and shenanigans going on in PF1e/D&D3.5e/d20 systems/etc. and I've used plenty of optional rulesets and such and tend to allow copious (some would even say insane) amounts of 3pp and alt content as long as I have a chance to review it first and it seems like it'd fit. Among other things I have used the Mythic rules for some of my games and overall I do find some of the content rather overboard even for my games. I have also granted players customized extras (that occasionally scale) before, once I called them "atavisms".I am trying to design an "add-on" system that's a bit more regular for my games instead of the random campaign specific stuff I've done for people. I'm just not entirely sure what to call this though and I was hoping you lot might have some interesting suggestions (barring making up my own word ofc). Thus far some name ideas include> atavisms> blessings> boons> awakenings (there is a 3pp system for these)> gifts> modifications/mods> templates> splats (WoD reference)> sides (eating lol)Comment too long. Welcome to the Old School Renaissance General, the thread dedicated to first-decade, Gygaxian D&D, its faithful modern clones, and content created for use with them. Later editions (2e and newer) should be discussed elsewhere. Broadly, OSR games encourage a tonal and mechanical fidelity to Dungeons & Dragons played as intended by its creators from 1974 to 1983 — less emphasis on linear adventures and overarching metaplots and a greater emphasis on player agency. If you are new to the OSR, welcome! Ask us whatever you're curious about: we'll be happy to help you get started. But depending on where the mouths are on the plant, it might be fair to rule that only a few of them can be used on a single target. If you're playing the Mutants and Mazes variant, then do notice that the number of attacks depends on the character level. If you're using the "standard" variant, Gamma World was never overly concerned with play balance in the first place.
