>>97260335The owner of the card is always the person that started the game with the card in their deck. Control is whoever is currently holding the relic. So the other anon is right, you need to hold it to get the effects of the relic for yourself. If someone kills the bearer and picks it up, they get the relics text then.
>>97260421>-2 cards is the main issueSee I haven't gotten enough hands on experience with the game to know if these synergies will pay off, but the existance of them makes me want to build decks to figure them out. In theory a ramping effect can be good for a large monsters and or angels deck. The game is subtly different in how it evaluates drawing and cheating in cards, so it inherently looks useful but only if you can put that mana to use. Theoretically, a "void matters" deck doesn't want to spend too much time building up sites to get the max benefit of the remaining void spaces.
>>97256158Post hating on the game were met with replies defending the game so poster grew more hostile towards the game.
>>97260556Yeah I love the way the AI art looks so good, fuck the haters my dude
Look, it's even using the same playbook for hating on FAB! They have nothing actually against Sorcery, yet they must seethe every time it's brought up. What's hilarious is this game is the furthest removed as possible from AI because it showcases traditional artwork only. Just flag useless posts like that and move on. The trolls can't actually hurt you.

>>97257697Eh, I kinda saw this coming, just because it's the same thing that happened earlier in the game with blockers/floodgates.Bandai saw something slowing the game down, makes removal easier until the only way to win is OTK because nothing sticks on the board after you pass turn. I still think they should have printed a "floodgate" keyword so they could print cheap removal that affects only them/blockers, and give decks answers to things that stall their game plan without fucking over every card in existence. Just like they should have printed more your turn protection to deal with aces instead of letting every deck clear level 5s for free.I'm curious to see if dual cards give some sort of viable defensive option to kick the cycle off again, but I can't see how. Unless they're security bombs stapled to consistency cards, so security can actually be relevant again.
>>97259872Im new to the game. What exactly are "floodgates"? I have seen them mentioned but dont really know what it means
>>97260577It's a term borrowed from Yugioh, and in our case it refers to the rookies that are designed to slow the game down by preventing your opponent from gaining memory or cheating costs. "Can't gain memory except by Tamer effects," "Can't reduce play costs," "Can't play Digimon by effects," rookies with those kind of effects.
>>97260621>It's a term borrowed from YugiohIf people aren't allowed to use U for Blue, then you can't use the term "floodgate".

>>97259285>players ask for a deck list>players ask for all the combosI feel like these are very normal things to see in any TCG. Did you exclusively play limited so it's odd to see?>players complain about the formatThis for sure is not exclusive to any one game and especially from MTG. If you mean format as in playstyle there's the cards-designed-for-commander in all other formats issues, if you mean format as in time period the recent one is izzet meta in standard again. Not a dig at the game and just making a point that people have things to complain about.
>>97236634Guys. Why do I feel that I much more competent in some older formats than I am in Master Duel? I have topped in multiple tournaments, but in MD I have troubles getting out of Diamond Rank but everyone says it´s pretty easy to reach Master.
>>97259486>I feel like these are very normal things to see in any TCGI want to preface my response with two things, first mtg requires significantly less deck knowledge for success and second I think yugioh is the superior game at the momentThat being said yugioh players seem to have a fundamental lack of curiosity. Like people dont build their own decks, they dont even figure out what the deck does on their own then if they dont win they throw their hands up and blame the deckMaybe its a problem local to me but that shit would get you laughed out of an fnm.
>>97260406>That being said yugioh players seem to have a fundamental lack of curiosity. That's a phenomenon you'll notice the more closely a player follows the meta, and in particular with this meta since the answers are either to splash in Fiendsmith (old) or Mitsurugi (new). Untiered decks and slightly older meta (as far back as 2021 but also as nearby as pre-Fiendsmith Snake-Eye meta) were more matchup-dependent, where you could feasibly lab out a course of action for most competent decks to contend with whatever was topping the charts. Nowadays you'll just get people asking how A deals with Mitsurugi, or what card to hit in those engines with X Y or Z forms of generic interruption. Obviously it's a bit of an over-simplification. But the meta does not inspire creativity after someone else solves it, and most people have their eyes on the meta.
>>97260291Either because those formats are in a solved state or populated by people that went to them explicitly because they're easier than the current format, while the current format is volatile and Master Duel is populated by people that constantly interact with it.
They always tell you to try not playing D&D, but they never tell you that basically every game other than 5e is almost exclusively played by autistic (and not the fun kind) powergaming social retards who either never say a word, or only communicate by being the loudest one talking over everyone else about their hyperfixation that nobody else gives a fuck about. The kind of people who post anime girl reaction memes and go "this is my character's face right now" or unironically show up with cropped porn as their character art like it's normal. There's a reason nobody touched this hobby until they saw fellow normies playing it on some podcast, I wouldn't even want to talk to the average sperglord who plays these games let along be stuck with them for 4 hours in a game that is supposed to be about social interaction.

One is an incident, two is a pattern pretending to not be, and six, counting Venus-unrelated things Tats has handled in my absence and suspects to have been related to the Venus-related ones. I suppose the calm we've achieved with the Palatine gone had to stop at some point, but such utter filth being the cause is anticlimactic and unfortunate.>>97248929The Prince's word is that you, or anybody else interested in eating their fellow man, are to wait until at least one Kindred of those fucking around in our city is caught, brought before the court and interrogated, or until more information comes up otherwise. A determination on appropriateness of consumption would be made once either condition is met. If it helps, currently he's quite publicly leaning towards 'anybody who dares disrupt the peace in my backyard gets their soul devoured painfully and slowly'. Especially if it isn't even the Palatine but some third party thinking the city is weakened after having to evict her. He just has no desire to rush such a decree, as to not fall for the standard Bloodhunt-a-rival scheme somebody could be pulling.>>97254073Any guess at the identity of their master? Somewhere between piloting and managing ghouls with bags, I had a bit of time to go through relatively obscure options. For instance, Romeo's beloved sent some reports our way, old writeups about a hunter group operating in Maine and in Canada. Big numbers but pretty poor quality, vaguely-right wing and religious, unsuccessfully trying to hunt shifters, obsessing a little with trying to use supernatural tools derived from their quarry against said quarry. They didn't often try to hunt Kindred, and dwindled down in their notable activities, a few years ago; could be that this is them but rebranded, more successful, relatively, and more radicalized.
>>97255436And six... is a blatant provocation*. Pardon, I'm somewhat distracted by Tats and plentiful threats of excessive violence she's making, mostly aimed at me, and five other things that are somewhat on fire. >>97239284'Exciting' is a way to phrase it, but, frankly, I'll take this over having to deal with that monstrosity you unfortunately are near, and every unsupervised Discipline-aided public nuisance trying to do something dangerous with it. The Prince of Bridgeport thanks you for sharing reports on your situation; while that abomination is not quite something any of us can possibly deal with, were it to suddenly start moving towards Connecticut, being aware of it is comforting, in a way. There's got to be a finite number of giant under-lake beasts, and being able to account for one of them is nice.

>>97260484Cephalopods took advantage of the great Lycanthropy die off to move on land. One species of freshwater octopus in particular, have made a home in the wetlands and swamps of what they call the 'over world.' Small, but with very complex social groupings, the Muslims ignore them and just see them as prey animals resulting in a hearty amount of calamari in the Caliphate's diet. Only a southrons have found some very intricate and very complex dwellings in the swamp, including oddly shaped rocks that the octopods tend to congregate around. These beings are in the awkward phase between bestial instinct and true sapience with most writing them off as wild animals. Very few have observed their music-based form of spiritualism in person and that's good, for the Caliphate would exterminate this haram species if they knew. >>97260455The Caliphate reigned for thousands of years after conquering the civilized world probably due to accidentally spreading a plague they didn't understand causing an extinction event . Now for the first time in centuries, they face an equal on the field.
The Elves keep a sapient descendant species of octopus around as servants. Moving on land to escape the Shark plague, the elves started to use this rising species as a way to supplement their declining numbers. Despite being invertebrates, they are pretty hearty in war- using their tentacles to ensnare and strangle ghazis. Where they fall is their relatively weak physique for things like mining and agriculture so they largely function as clerks for elf kind. They spit on the Quran and blame it for the 'Great Dying.'
Dwarven religion is similar to the chasidic judaism, they also practice kabbalah magic.
>>97260571The Elves are worshipped by a number of genetically engineered slave species. With their numbers declining, the Elves decided to create servants to toil the fields and to march off to war while they built esoteric temples celebrating past achievements of their dying race. Great statues tower high in the steppe, giants toiling as the great cracks of their hammer echo through the desert, horns blare as the battle thralls smash against the Ghazis. Empty, sprawling palaces sit in the far north as grim reminders of the passing of time. Empty cities resemble tombs with sarcophagi homes and walls covered in Fey ruins and pictographs with the long march of the slaves echoing through the empty streets. The Elves blame the Muslims for the death of their misbegotten race and the collapse of their civilization, so they wage the Infinite War against the hated Caliphate. It's ironic in a way for the Elves have created an entire religion based around idolatry with them as the focus, playing into the Abrahamic worldview of polytheism and thus justifying Islam as the Northern Jihads continue on and on. But it's also a grim reflection on the Caliphate. To Muslims, all non-believers be they kaffirs or heretics, were created by Allah to serve Muslims with the Elves sitting as the logical conclusion to where that path leads and ends. The north is a broken land fertilized by the blood of dead slaves and marked with the remnants of past glory. One side looks to what was lost and blinds itself to the present, the other ignores past lessons and marches boldly into a grim future. This is no place of honor.

Elara was leaning against a pillar, completely mesmerized. Her face was flushed, her breath was shallow, and her thumb was nervously tracing the rim of her cup. As the minstrel hit a particularly soulful high note, Elara unconsciously bit her lower lip, her gaze fixed on the singer’s throat.Nadya’s tail gave a slow, predatory twitch. She saw the "maths" of desire written all over the other woman."Careful, Little Bird," Nadya rasped, her voice cutting through the music like a serrated blade. "You bite that lip any harder, you will bleed into your wine. Is waste of good vintage."Elara jumped, her face turning a shade of crimson that rivaled a sunset. "Nadya! I... I wasn't... the music is just very moving."Nadya hopped down from the sill, landing with a silent, heavy grace. She leaned into Elara’s space. She looked at the minstrel, then back at Elara, a slow, mocking smirk pulling at her scarred lip."He has eyes like a kicked puppy and hands that have never seen a day of real work," Nadya whispered. ," Nadya whispered. "Pretty, yes. But if ghouls come? Pizdets. Total pizdets. He will be screaming like a girl while they chew his throat." Hr voice dropping into that dark, 'inappropriate' register she used when she wanted to rattle someone. "But the way he moves his hips when he hits the low notes? Da. Is very 'moving.' Makes the blood go to interesting places, yeah?"Elara sputtered, "I—that is a very crude way of putting it!""Is honest way," Nadya countered. She leaned an inch closer, her gold eyes glinting with a mischievous, sharp light. "You want to take him behind the hay-wain and see if he sings as well when he is breathless? >Halflings to do the farming>Dwarves to do the smithing and mining>Gnomes to do the researching>Elves to do magic>Humans to do the fighting (and thus, the ruling)This seems the obvious perfect order to things. Humans don't want to be the peasant farmers, we want to be the knights and lords, but somebody has to farm, somebody has to smith, etc. Why not have the other races do the menial peasant stuff that they specialize in anyways?
>>97259603Halfings, dwarves, and gnomes generally do enjoy doing those things but also are usually self governed. The second things start going bad the people not in charge will get mad at those in charge. Humans just feel like the catch all here. But generally i dislike settings where all these people live together because humans barely get along with people of different races and its hard for me to see dwarves and elves evening living together, let alone one having a higher social status.

Ok Born Under a Bl^ck Sun author, you asked for my opinions and I'm willing to give, but not on your page. Overall, it was very Avatar the last air bender as told by a mid level Pathfinder campaign run by munchkins.Observation 1, the audience best-served by this work is probably 14 year old boys. I 'm not gonna tell you how to live your life. Let's talk about the poo poo pee pee. It grows increasingly exhausting each time you try to shock me with it. When he 'whips it out' I want to strangle you. Farstride isn't a posh master, but she should have higher standards in how she guy talks w/ da boyz. MC gets covered in his own shit. I was not shocked, I was not surprised, just ready to die before I would have to read about any other poop 'splosion.Next, please develop the voices of your characters, just a little bit more. It gets better halfway in when you have regional accents at play, you did a good job not going off the wall with it which I appreciate, but master and apprentice sound nigh exactly the same beginning to end with the only distinctiveness occurring in Chapter 13. For awareness. I felt like I was reading an outline for a better book. The names are made up, points don't matter, with characters engaged in a regional political vigilance that is unified farther than it should be, and magic conventions that sound like conceptual placeholders. You lost my investment in the world giving the characters a unified and far more clear idea of the global intertrade and political landscape than I think they would have, specifically the apprentices. Give the senior homie more of a role and show he's ready to be a Life dude frfr by making him the voice of carefully researched reason. Someone ought to be loudly wrong a bit more, so that the worldly ones stand out. Speaking of naming conventions, MC's title follows none of your established logic. why does MC appreciate it?...(cont)
>>97257571Literally go for What the Fantasy
>>97259855About Chapter 13, I have a lot I want to say. The reason your book is still on my mind is because of it, because it broke my faith in your story having anything meaningful worth continuing to read it for. I was somewhat invested in it until then, but after that you got weaker as a storyteller and it marked where you started lacking gravity and planning, you dropped the ball. This chapter is a power fantasy apathetic towards it's own existence, Slouches around to say 'there are no heros here' and 'girlz get equal lefts' with an aw shucks voice where a lack of closure is the entire point of it's existence. clap. Good job, you did the thing.I as a reader get that nothing matters to the MC, you don't need to beat me over the head with it. MC is a sociopath, it drips off every page like angst does as sighs in the Twilight novels. But it ought to matter a lot more to his Master, having lived a fuller life than he. This was a moment where you reveal that actually, your entire world is poison. As a bystander to psychosis, anything happens, and nothing mattress. You as a writer are willing to lie back and think of England, it's 'fun' this way. You tell me this though, and now no one's culture really matters, I become very aware of how much of my time you waste talking about 'common crowns' and world event politics like any of it matters, it doesn't. Clearly, the only answer is that no one survives past the age of 30 unless they have special elder powers like hawksight and a penchant for smiling so that when the retard hides behind your skirts and ruins your door you can maybe survive because he chose to throw the door and not You at the beast instead.
>>972604271 . It would have been a stronger choice if the secluded mountain people ran counter to expectation, and were not barbaric, unlike the city types. If you don't like that trope, consider how they would actually realistically live. They wouldn't need Paladin lawful ways of handling beefing, when they have a convenient temple of muscle bound JoJos literally up the hill. It would be very much within bounds and further plot for outcome of duels to be decided by the Monks instead of fought next to granny's hovel, send the knight up the road and killed off screen by the thing Rotwood fights with ease type of deal- arrange the result of an uneven match without having to waste time showing it. To make my beef clearer, dropping bodies next to folks that can't keep wildlife off their backdoor would create tangible problems for the community, and they would either find a method to mitigate it or else they die drawing man eaters wantonly. Wild hunt thing unremarked upon, because it's more interesting to think of that enclave as cannibalistic. 2. Maybe the lemminglike petal knights could buck programing and not go off the cliff one after another. It would be interesting if she did convince them she is there just to study ecology like the villagers said, and does it. Either given clemency and act up at a bad time where as a minor threat she has impact, or as an innocent she makes a final boss fight minor thing appear much larger with her death showing how fatal this non-threat is, like the nightmare shadows you choose not to do anything satisfying with. Have Rotwood appear to be paranoid for no reason, then justify him. Is he going senile with delusions of self importance, is it a fable, no he's really a bbeg of someone else's story, now he gets to throw his weight around without holding back- great. Tangible impact. A punishment for leniency, paranoia becomes justified- literally anything. As is, we only know that thought crimes are real, the ghost said so.
>>97260600>oops, dropped pic. guess I'll yell at you more so I finish with one3. It took a long time for him to do his little stunt. If it wasn't important nor interesting enough to let the sacrifice speak before you killed her, then don't pomp on the encounter at all. You hang on this moment like it has future impact, it's a non sequitur. I waited for when it would come up again, didn't. A free idea; make the immoral group of munchkins work together exactly once, for how to kill her in the quickest way to go on with their romp in the trees. Maybe show how Farstride doesn't 'play well with others' by her handling this without Rotwood's blessing. Have her do something heinous breaking our idea of what a lifegiver is supposed to be, show don't tell us that she's capable of it, as a clue of what's to come with her turning traitor so we care about that more when it happens. A concrete example, lifer rewires petal knight's eyes so she can't see Rotwood. Fantastical, horrific, the reader becomes aware of the threat lifers possess. Say something with the death or don't, but don't undercut your own characters and what you build them up to be for shock factor alone, it's cheap. You show what you're capable of doing to tell a story and undercut the story. Overall, there are no stakes, no reasons for anything. Reveal of ascension doesn't matter. You had an interesting thing you wanted to do with the moon which was cute, cool when I squint and don't overthink it's fever-dream execution. The book is dipped over in marvel quality 'witty' banter and cynicism of itself. Like, you started teasing out plot for the next book by loudly exposition dumping into the face of a homeless dude then killed him. I wanted to strangle you again because I know you did it to be tasteless, after a hit of the funny. It aint. There are some things you don't see often because it's a novel idea, other times it's this. On the plus side God got to see his favorite animal, whoopie.
