>>97402630If we are just using those specific OCCs, mostly yeah. Althought I think dognoy should be tier 2. They are stronger than humans and their smell tracking powers are useful in all situations.

>>97402630For tier one, tattoo'ed warriors that aren't generic should be there ie undead slayers and t-monsters. Demigod and Godlings, temporal raiders. Mega juicers. Also shifters with a pact beyond powerful if played aggressively Take fusionists and bursters out of tier two, psi-gun slingers, headhunter alternative "robo slammer" Tier 3 is vast and covers tons of occ's

>>97403554Hardly an opinion, you need only look at the seething in this thread.
>>97397169There is also not much in it mechanically. It reads like a assortment of random ideas, where the author sometimes gave up mid-segment and just moved on to next half-baked table of whatever. And graphical design-wise I thought it was interesting at first, but wondered after reading why they don't just offer a clear written version of the rules with it, that aren't in a random order, in random formats, randomly strewn across pages, but then I realized that, it's probably like this in first place, because if you had in regular format, you'd immediately see, again, how little there is actually in there.
It can’t just be about the money because during the TSR era they shoved all the artists like Brom into one room and made them work for peanuts.
>>97402926Nah, I think the artist they got to do the latest 5e PHB and DMG is pretty good. Probably because they have a more fantastical art style that evokes older editions while still being digital.
>>97403263> t. young and impressionable
>>97403673I only mean the covers. The PHB one kind of makes me think of the Dungeons and Dragons cartoon.
>>97402976Pre-3.x art was really swingy. You had absolute bangers like this and then you'd get some really basic black and white pieces. The highs were higher and lows were lower. The black border era towards the end of the TSR era was a downgrade for me too but still better in my opinion than the 3.x stuff.
>>97402122You can't honestly ask something like that in a site with a terminal level of OLD GOOD NEW BAD bias like this one unless you're expecting an eco chamber. But if that's the case, enjoy your circlejerk.
>Black Legion no longer hard into Chaos worship, Abaddon sees himself as not a slave and is disdainful of the religious>Iron Warriors see relying on the Dark Gods as a weakness>Night Lords are edgy atheists>Emperor's Children don't care about Slaanesh specifically really, are just concerned with pleasuring themselves and being freaky. Fabius actively hates Chaos>Thousand Sons hate Tzeentch for fucking them and try to fuck him over when they can>Alpha Legion retconned to basically never having been religious at all >World Eaters are crazy and barely verbal anymore>Red Corsairs see relying on Dark Gods as weak and now have a whole cadre of troops that are "free" of Chaos influence>Only Word Bearers and Death Guard seem to actually venerate the Chaos GodsWhy are so few CSM actually religious anymore? Back in the day even your average Alpha Legion boy would be all FOR THE DARK GODS
>>97402767based, right?
>>97403862>>97403581basically in the NL novels some straight up worship chaos, most are just full of cope and delulu and just evil for evils sake. Some characters are literally possessed monsters and the more atheists characters are not okay with it but do nothing because of the pure cope, delulu, and fear.

>>97403838I disagree, HH is a bad product but they definitely care about it, it has had 40k levels of support since 3.0 launched, which itself is probably their most manicured edition in a long while with a ton of investment into it. For a start it is pretty much their first battle game that has introduced more characteristics since I don't know when. TOW was clearly the stepchild from launch, it's the underdog done good story but I don't think they were ever confident about it and are still confused about how to market and support it.

Previous thread: >>97295718GURPS is a modular, adaptable system, capable of running a wide range of characters, settings, and play styles, with a level of detail varying from lightweight to completely autistic.Optional rules allow you to emulate different genres with a single system, or even switch genres within a single game.A nearly complete archive of GURPS books can be found by using the image. Never post direct links to the archive anywhere in plain text.If you're wondering where to start:- The Basic Set covers everything, including a lot of optional rules you probably won't use.- A genre guide can be found in the archive, under Unofficial/GURPSgen. It tells you what extra books and articles you may find useful for many common genres.- How To Be a GURPS GM is a good read even for players.- GCS (gurpscharactersheet.com) is an excellent character-builder software, with page references to all the books and the option to export to both Foundry and Fantasy Grounds.Thread question: what's the best classic GURPS cover art?

>>97404020>2 Impulse Point with "Doubly Aspected: Only for serendipity" cost 4...Where is this from? I don't see how serendipity is 'doubly aspected' or how you get a -60% discount from doubly aspected when aspected is a -20% limitation. Is there a Pyramid article or something which expands on impulse points?
>>97404137Sorry, bad math, doubly aspected is -40% so you'd get the cost to be 6, making it 16, making me wrong.and yes, there is a pyramid article about impulse points, 3-100; pp 4, Impulse Control. And I thought "player guidance only" was -40% but it's actually -20%, so I'm doubly wrong.Just forget I said anything, I'm wrong on every account.
>>97404137OK, found it. Impulse Buys from Pyramid 3/100.Serendipity is not doubly aspected, since Serendipity is explicitly stated to cover all kinds of Player Guidance. It is only aspected.Even if it were doubly aspected, that's a -40% limitation, reducing the cost of two levels to [6], which would be more than Serendipity 1 even if you only had to pay for one level of Enhanced Refresh. But you need two levels of Enhanced Refresh to refresh both your points every session. So the total cost is actually [28], almost twice the price of Serendipity! I think to be fair you should allow Aspected on the Enhanced Refresh too, which brings it down to [24], but Serendipity still looks like a bargain in comparison.

How's Wrath and Glory? Friends have been asking me to go back to DMing. I was thinking about Dark Heresy cause I have it stashed somewhere on my drive, but one guy said WaG is easy to run. Does it have a sort of story expectation, like Dark Heresy expects you to work for the Inquisition?

>dagger deals more damage than broadswordAt what point do you decide enough is enough and you won't respect a game that won't respect historically accurate weapons?
>>97400156It's a game, I bet you're the moron who used to cry in the GURPS thread that the GM has to artificially gimp your character because he didn't let you take disintegrators and thermal vision in a TL3 medieval game
>>97400156>toolkit for the lazy>as opposed to premade for the industriouskek you're crashing out hard
>>97401884I would suggest that wounds are either serious or non-serious. In that case only hit location matters regardless of the target. Serious injury to your right arm and you aren't using it for the rest of the fight. Serious injury to your head or torso, you're in death's door. On the other hand, enough non-serious injuries to either and it will be the same as having gotten one serious injury. This would be true for a human, goblin, wolf, dragon, etc.Damage numbers aren't required for this at all, you could determine it entirely from some roll of weapon skill, contested or otherwise, considering reach and defense/armor, etc. But this doesn't even count as the beginnings of game design. Maybe the entire premise of what I said disgusts you, but I'd be curious either way.
>>97403664Interestingly enough, I personally use that kind of system (although slightly more granular with 3~4 tiers of wounds) for my homebrew systems specifically when almost all fights are between humanoids and fall back on classic HP tracks for giant robots and dungeons full of monsters. Perhaps because the latter make me want to play something more game-like while the former scenarios drive me towards more simulationism. Now, systems for figuring out hit locations… is a field I have a lot of room to grow in as a designer.
>>97403711>although slightly more granular with 3~4 tiers of woundsToo much squeeze for my taste.>fall back on classic HP tracks for giant robots and dungeons full of monstersCoward? Those things can be destroyed much the same, a robot or golem or zombie might not die from a sucking chest wound but breaking all their limbs and should render them a non-combatant under most circumstances.
