Can someone please confirm if I understand the Call of Cthulhu 7e rules for Full Auto fire correctly?

>Investigator has a uses a 1D10+2 damage Tommy gun with a 50-bullet drum barrel.
>Has a Firearms (SMG) skill of 75% so they fire 7 bullets per volley.
>Apparently you can fire as many volleys as you want as long as the weapon has ammo.
>1st volley: Rolls attack. Hits, so half the bullets hit (rounded down) dealing 3D10+6 damage. Remaining bullets: 43
>2nd volley: Rolls attack with a penalty die. Hits and deals 3D10+6 damage again. Remaining bullets: 36
>3rd volley: Rolls attack with two penalty dice. Misses this time, so zero damage but still used 7 ammo: Remaining bullets: 29
>4th volley: Rolls attack with two penalty dice and requiring a hard success to hit. Misses again, so zero damage but still used 7 ammo: Remaining bullets: 15
>5th volley: Rolls attack with two penalty dice and requiring an extreme success to hit. Misses again, so zero damage but still used 7 ammo: Remaining bullets: 8
>6th volley: Rolls attack with two penalty dice and requiring a critical success to hit. Misses again, so zero damage but still used 7 ammo: Remaining bullets: 1
>The player cannot fire any more volleys because it has become impossible to hit, so they end their turn.

Is this correct? Aside from the facts that armor is applied to each damage roll separately, and if the Investigator wants to switch targets between volleys they have to pay 1 bullet/yard in wasted ammo. Also, obviously they'd probably stop firing after the second/third volley because the chance to hit just becomes abysmal.

Bit of an out there question, can anyone think of an interesting way to build a tramway, or at least tramway heavy, chase sequence in Call of Cthulhu. It's an idea I came up with during our last session and I can't help but feel it could be really fun if done well.

my guess is that rackham is a small french company that got quickly stomped by the british juggernaut that GW grown up to be by the early 2000s. did they design this game in the late 80s when tabletop gaming was at its infancy they might've had a shot. but the faggots at Nottingham would do anything to stay top dog. i don't know if they would send pinkertons to harass competition like WotC but i think they would use any possible legal tool to snuff them out.
>>
>>97406668
AT-43 was literally 20 years ago, the wargaming landscape was completely different. No social media (besides a bunch of scattered and disconnected forums), no kickstarter, no real way to soft launch a new game/setting and slowly build up hype as a small indie company. All they could, and did do, was hard launch the game at a bunch of trade shows and hope for the best. Then they quickly ran out of money because they overestimated how much 2007 people would care about a wargame where the hobby part is taken out and it died.

Bit of a shame because the main 3 factions in the setting + the gorillas were absolutely peak aesthetics wise (you can tell they contracted a bunch of GW artists in their prime lol) and the rules were really forward thinking at a time when old school warhammery shit like IGYG and real LoS were still pretty much standard.

I've been enjoying Kal Arath so far. Are there any tables or supplements that can adapt the setting for sci fi or western adventures? I can kind of come up with setting stuff on the fly, but I'm having trouble when it comes to building combat encounters since I don't know how to make balanced enemies appropriately themed to the other genres.

Tabletop RPGs tend to split up crafting into a high number of crafting subskills for every individual area of expertise. There's no question that crafting is still extremely powerful despite forcing you to go through this hassle, but what are your thoughts on which particular crafting subskills tend to be the most useful in the context of a TTRPG campaign, be it a medieval or modern or sci-fi setting?

Pic related is from Legend of the Five Rings, where I'll be playing a crafter soon, and I intend to invest heavily into crafting. But feel free to talk about any game you've had experience with.

Is it easier to make a Captain America expy (hand to hand, uses shield offensively and defensively) of at level effectiveness (ie not hyper optimized ubercharger but serviceable in a group) in 3.5, or easier in PF1e?
I am not against initiator classes, but I would rather not run to them at first, viewing them as a crutch at times.

Dirty Law Enforcement and Judge Holden looking guys would be great inspiration for BSDs. They're surprisingly varied, but the main thing is you want to try to get down is they're all mostly bad people and probably a little bit insane at minimum. The Spiral tends to get you during your worst moments after all. Though, that shouldn't stop you from making someone that actually functions in the setting. Sometimes you shouldn't be an insane rapist even if you could be
>>

>Have you ever played, or played alongside, a special snowflake PC in any of your Chronicles?
In the CofD chronicle that I played in, the argument could be made that we were ALL special snowflakes. Because we didn't want to have a lot of friendly NPC support, everyone was either on the outs with their respective peoples or there just weren't many of their respective peoples in the city. The vampire steered clear of local politics, the werewolf was the sole surviving member of her pack getting slaughtered, etc. In almost 100 sessions, I never ran into another Princess.

Setting dependent. In my setting they're basically religious fundamentalists, but are willing to join other civilizations if they see a benefit for themselves. In some settings they're unnatural or demonic, in some settings they're just native populations, and there are other answers.

Is your experience with TTRPGs more broad, or deep? Have you played a variety of systems, or mostly focused on a single one? I'm interested in what modern /tg/ looks like in this regard. What year did you first play a TTRPG? For the purposes of this thread, we're not counting solo RPGs or one/two page games.

In no particular order, list which TTRPGs you have played at least one campaign in, indicating editions if you think it matters. If you GM'd that system, put an asterisk next to it.

>Is your experience with TTRPGs more broad, or deep
Most of my games are set in prohibition-era noir, where I invariably go deep in a broad.
>>
>>97402542
All the D&Ds and oWoDs (including Mind's Eye). Lots of the West End games, including a Star Wars game that's prolly the longest-running campaign I ever played. Lots of Palladium, particularly Rifts. Lots of Talislanta and Earthdawn. Amber diceless and LOGAS. A variety of old superhero games like Marvel and TMNT. Many the gurps. Without Number series. A variety of other retclones. Star Trek Adventures and the Alien RPG semi-recently. Hell, I dunno what else. I'm old and been doing this a long time. I've run pretty much all of them, too.

What's the topic, though? Are we all just making mindless lists? The depth of my experience are AD&D 2e, oWoD and VtM. The breadth is mostly 90s games that no one remembers.
>>
>>97402542
The problem with these threads is that only people who have played more than one game post in them. All the people who have only played D&D5e (aka the vast majority or roleplaying gamers) don't bother posting.

Pathfinder 2e

It's interesting to see what games everyone has played and what games are fairly unique. My theory is that those who tend to be players play what they know, while those willing to GM are
A. More willing to try new systems
B. More likely to be able to form a group to try those novel systems.

An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.

>What Trench Crusade is not
TC not an excuse for you to discuss IRL religion, history that didn't occur in the game, culture war shit, or discord bullshit on /tg/. Keep it on topic.

>What's the QRD on the background?
The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.

Why does the thread need to be fast?
This is a fallacy borne of people too used to /b/ and /v/ where you need to struggle to have your attention seeking thread gain relevancy.

I'm a little surprised by the popularity of printed models for the game itself, official and proxy. At the outset, I thought being models-agnostic was supposed to be a major draw.
It's not necessarily bad, just I thought people would be slamming their bits boxes together more.

Some people bought 3D printers for TC specifially.

I have had one for 3 years now and mostly used it for D&D minis but now I'm printing warbands for me and my friends. (Sulatanate, Pilgrims, Prussia and Heretics)

Quippy greentexts and pointless arguments aren't genuine engagement.
