to start with 4AD you just need the corebook. none more. the Expanded Edition was released recently, just get it and go play: GF /d/6lJmMp

The supplements from Erick can be easily found out there. And he's very active on the 4AD Facebook group. But IDK (and I don't care) anything about he sexuality.

Anyone have the more recent Shadowrun novels? More particularly, the Blackbird trilogy by Zimmerman?

why are many creators so afraid of making a setting with napoleonic wars era technology?

I can think of a couple of examples, like Powder Mage or the Shadow Campaign book series, Powder Mage even has a TTRPG supplement in Savage Worlds.

As most other have pointed out, there's a dedicated general for the format because it's very detached from the rest of the game as it's basically a party game and a reason for people to socialize rather than play magic. I also wouldn't recommend it as the entry point but it sounds like that's all your friends are going to play so whatever.
Most people get thrown the krenko deck to start because it's beyond braindead easy and considering you play stuff like PTCG and HS that sounds about your speed. Get your feet wet with it but don't become too attatched to it as you'll likely get bored of it fairly quickly.

It's not that I ever had the actual thought that it is impossible for any art director to fail to draw pizza but seeing these lands I realized it was possible. I agree with you it is among the most embarrassing things they've ever done.

I can't actually believe a billion dollar company would let something like this happen. I understand there's a reason behind drawing someone in a mechawheelchair fighting off Phyrexians or pirates but this... is he pulling pizza out of the beach or something? Has this fucking art director never eaten fucking pizza before; nobody fucking holds pizza like that.

>In the game Werewolf: The Apocalypse, the Garou (werewolves) were made to defend the earth from the cosmic forces that threaten to tear it apart. The Garou fight against the Wyrm, the destroyer. It is a struggle against nearly insurmountable odds, especially considering the rivalry between many tribes. These rivalries make it almost impossible for the werewolves to present a unified front against a cosmic force that pervades reality.
>From this morass of hatred and mutual betrayal, there is little hope that the Garou can emerge triumphant against a foe so well armed as the Wyrm. The Wyrm promises money, power, sex, and whatever else the heart desires to its followers while the Garou receive no reward for their striving. It drives them deeper and deeper into despair, or into betrayal so deep that they choose to serve the Wyrm instead.

This is some genuine nu-White Wolf cope. The Get are strength fetishists sure but they aren't so ignorant as to think only physical strength and SMASH THE WYRM NOW is the only thing that matters. The books regularly talk about how they appreciate intellect and mental fortitude as well, and that strength is more than one's ability to throw a rock real well. All the Garou tribes have their ups and downs, CoG for example are much better natured and more likely to resolve things amicably and peacefully, but they lack a strong familial focus and their method of treating kinfolk in a laissez-faire manner without actually treating them like a proper family, because of "muh commune", is directly what led to shit like Samuel Haight.

I run Rogue Trader presently and the completely unprepared for the role RT and the hotshot Void Master that was picked out of the gutter to be "the designated heir's little friend" are having a blast with their characters' unresolved but rapidly developing feelings towards each other

Had a deep romance between the adept lead acolyte and a scum recruit he initially picked up on Iocanthos when we were running the starter adventure in the core rules. She started as an obscura addict and he just hired her. The adept character ended up saving her during the final fight and the relationship bloomed in character from there. We were a group of all dudes so it was purely an "awww bless em" between the group. Had an assassin, a psyker and me GM. They both ended up dying later but ya know, dark heresy and all that.

>You all meet in the tavern of an isolated village. It's seven in the morning, and everyone is having their breakfast.
>You see in the corner a young man in studded leather chatting animatedly with an older woman in heavy armor.
>A young woman lets out a cheer as she beats a man of the same age in an arm wrestle. He wears a suit of gleaming gothic half-plate, while she wears a hauberk and gambeson. After the contest has ended, the pair enjoy a hearty meal of turkey and maize together.
>An old man wearing a ragged cloak over equally ragged clothes nurses a cooling cup of coffee while watching their antics, stirring in a spoonful of sugar after an exploratory taste.
>A woman sat on a stool by the bar takes in one last drag of her cigarette before she stubs it out in an ashtray. With that out of the way, she tucks into a pumpkin pie that is waiting for her.
>A man with dark skin pays for his meal with several unfamiliar coins, before brushing past you on his way out the door. He wears a vest made of soft leather over a loose cotton shirt, and has a long sword in a sheath strapped to his back, ready to be drawn at any moment.
>A young girl greets you animatedly and offers you menus. She asks if any of you were interested in buying some of the potato and rabbit stew that is currently cooking, or if you'd like rooms for the night.

He'll be very depressed and full of sorrow as always and order a coffee. Noticing that he's allowed to smoke in this place, he's going to consume half a pack of Lucky Strike in two hours, grumbling against "faggot democrats" all the time. If she is hot, the smoking woman will remind him of his dead wife and will spend the morning staring longingly at her. If there's a counterpart of the Soviet Union or communism in this universe he finds himself in, he's probably trying to beat the shit out (or even outright kill) "those filthy reds", and the only justification he will give to the guards will be "I fuckin' hate them."

I've spent the last year, studying, and designing a custom Arthurian set, originally intended to be based on Le Morte d'Arthur (like how P3k was based on Romance of the Three Kingdoms).

However, as I continued to study, and look into different (and some obscure sources) this turned into a much more wider net.

This set, which is no where near finished includes
>Welsh Triads and The Magnibong
>Pre-Vulgate Arthur traditions
>Vulgate/Post Vulgate/Lancelot cycles
>some English/Welsh fairy tales
>and even a bit of the Victorian Arthurian revival (especially for art).

I avoided the Italian and German romances entirely, and tried not to include weird outliners except when needed. Outside of art, nothing is sourced from the 20th century or onward. Also all art is public domain.

I'm mainly posting here for feedback. Some will be art recommendations, flavor text (especially sourced) will be always welcomed.

Welcome to /wbg/, the thread for the discussion of in-progress settings for traditional games.

Here is where you go to present and develop the details of your worlds such as lore, factions, magic and ecosystems. You can also post maps for your settings, as well as any relevant art. Please remember that dialogue is what keeps the thread alive, so don't be afraid of giving someone feedback or post whatever relevant input you might have, cunt!

"Innocent girl gets used as a weapon" is actually inspired by the original Mobile Suit Gundam, specifically Lalah Sune, a young sex worker that was groomed by Char and Zeon to be a psychic super-soldier. Her close emotional connection with Amuro, the protagonist, and her tragic death at his hands made her something of a hit with the melodramatic audiences of that era.

And we've been plagued with magic space psychic girls since.

>Realistically what would life in a world of superheroes where your ability is defined by your bloodline be like?
Well, for a start, bloodline powers means secret identities do fuck all unless your entire family tree keeps that shit secret, so masks are out.

Also means supervillains would be pretty rare for the same reason. You aren't gonna have people start trying to crime when their powers are basically a fingerprint unless they're immediately willing to live on the run. There's a difference between running after you get caught and running in the first place and people willing to do A aren't necessarily going to be willing to do B.
