Kobold Press used to do a little magazine called Kobold Quarterly. One of their issues had, I kid you not, an article titled "On the Care and Keeping of Gelatinous Cubes". It was filled with all sorts of optional rules for keeping, feeding, and caring for a pet Gelatinous Cube, of varying sizes. It requires no levels, only some gold to set up your pen and feed/care for your Cube.Hobbyists, who call themselves "Cubists", often have little mini mazes for their Cubes to roam around in, along with things like various dyes to use, and little baubles you can put inside your cube for decoration like glass balls enchanted with Continual Flame, and they even had a skill check you could make for getting the objects to come to rest exactly where you want them inside the Cube so you could do things like arrange a star map.The height of the Cubist world, of course, shapes. They had special compressing devices you could have installed in your little mazes, and once you lure your Cube there with some protein slurry you can do things like make them very long rectangular "cubes", along with rules for how often you had to do this for them to not lose the shape. The most prized of all, however, was the spherical Gelatinous "Cube".
>>97291517>it's gooey all over, anon.>its a cube of goo.Clearly not, clearly there's some stiffness to it like jellyOtherwise things inside would just fall to the ground instead of floating inside, that only happen if the density of the goo is high enough to support weightWhy would you think it's gooey like a high flowing liquid?
>>97291815goo isn't a scientific term, dude.
>>97291830Which is kinda funny given how he managed to get the role of density almost perfectly backwards while he was at it.
>>97291830Says who?
>>97291896I'm on 4chan and we are discussing fantasy creatures and their made up consistency, I'll use any words I want, disregarding their real life appliance. "Weight" means nothing when talking about a body in liquid, a whale "weights" nothing underwaterNot, a skeleton inside a gelatinous cube? That has weight. And it's very clear it does because he's floating inside and not falling to the ground.Exactly like I said. You cannot explain how the skeleton remains inside the cube while the cube moves, if not by assuming the inside of the goo being somewhat high densityWhich raises a question, how would a low density gelatinous cube look like? Probably like a thin acid mist.

>>97284206What's the deal with Kontraband? And do you find the system works better with coop, as introduced by Kontraband?I love stalker but not sure if I could get my friends to come along... Yet
>>97284413Definitely worth getting. Even if just for the expanded POIs. If you're only playing it against other players then you don't really need it. Kontraband really just expands upon the survival/looting mechanics. It does shift the focus away from combat a little, but when you do have an encounter you can very easily get your shit pushed in if you're unlucky. That being said, if you're playing it solo and have a squad with a good balanced set of gear/skills its actually easier than playing coop and relying on your teammates to do the right thing.

>>97291061Grabowski, but he and subsequent writers fusilladed the message.
>He was looking into a great chamber, whose walls and floors were of stone, and whose mighty roof was upheld by gigantic stone columns, strangely carved. Ranks of feathered black warriors lined the walls and a double column of them stood like statues before a throne set between two stone dragons which were larger than elephants. These men he recognized, by their bearing and general appearance, to be tribesmen of the warriors he had fought at the chasm. But his gaze was drawn irresistibly to the great, grotesquely ornamented throne. There, dwarfed by the ponderous splendor about her, a woman reclined. A black woman she was, young and of a tigerish comeliness. She was naked except for a beplumed helmet, armbands, anklets and a girdle of colored ostrich feathers and she sprawled upon the silken cushions with her limbs thrown about in voluptuous abandon.>Even at that distance Kane could make out that her features were regal yet barbaric, haughty and imperious, yet sensual, and with a touch of ruthless cruelty about the curl of her full red lips. Kane felt his pulse quicken. This could be no other than she whose crimes had become almost mythical—Nakari of Negari, demon queen of a demon city, whose monstrous lust for blood had set half a continent shivering. At least she seemed human enough; the tales of the fearful river tribes had lent her a supernatural aspect. Kane had half expected to see a loathsome semi-human monster out of some past and demoniacal ageOh, Nakari really is proto Raksi.
>>97286867What are your hopes for new Exalted content in 2026? I hope we get more 3e fiction, be it a comic like picture related, a novella, or otherwise.

I'm not really sure about new content but I'm always happy with new whatever. If I were to ask for something then I guess it'd be more demons and NPC's to play around with. Especially now that we have so much content and more years of experience to work with making cool npcs. Say what you will but I actually liked those Devil-Stars that were posted.>>97291061A big part of solars is that them being great didn't stop them from losing due to hubris. I've spent the last year, studying, and designing a custom Arthurian set, originally intended to be based on Le Morte d'Arthur (like how P3k was based on Romance of the Three Kingdoms). However, as I continued to study, and look into different (and some obscure sources) this turned into a much more wider net. This set, which is no where near finished includes>Welsh Triads and The Magnibong>Pre-Vulgate Arthur traditions>Vulgate/Post Vulgate/Lancelot cycles>some English/Welsh fairy tales>and even a bit of the Victorian Arthurian revival (especially for art). I avoided the Italian and German romances entirely, and tried not to include weird outliners except when needed. Outside of art, nothing is sourced from the 20th century or onward. Also all art is public domain. I'm mainly posting here for feedback. Some will be art recommendations, flavor text (especially sourced) will be always welcomed.Comment too long. The final 'mundane' creature. I have two outliners left I'll show later, but this is the last of the finished non-legendary creatures.
>>97291943>There is banding.... I don't think "have a card with this one keyword that or die" is good design. The turn this drops it's an immediate 8 swing and thus 8 1/1s. If you have a banding creature you'll need to sacrifice it, otherwise, you'll probably have to put up your entire board in front of it. This is basically an Emrakul in comparison to the rest of the set
>>97292052I mean its a big green beefy legend. It will require some answers to deal with. Also Rise was one of the best draft sets ever.
>>97292059>I mean its a big green beefy legendlegends should not be egregiously pushed compared to the rest of the set. how are you managing to independently repeat the exact mistakes of every UB product
>>97292068No, you're completely right, but this is the legend. It literally took all the heroes of Britian to stop it. This card is just staying true to the lore.
why are many creators so afraid of making a setting with napoleonic wars era technology?
>>97290696>It was translated in 2022 or afterwards it seemsIt 100% wasn't since I played it in English on Steam before then. That said, its more of a puzzle game than strategy. Every map is designed with an intended solution that's mandatory in most cases if you want to get all the side objectives.

How do you justify a "pest race" like goblins or rat people in your setting? Why wouldn't the dominant species make a concentrated effort to eradicate them if they were a problem?
It's fantasy dawg
In WEG' D6 Fantasy orcs, goblins, ogres and bugbears are created from other humanoid races. The most handy and large scale method is just burying humanoids to a cursed ground, which causes them to deform and rise again as mentioned evil races. They can also be created by corrupting humanoids through magical torture, and through evil races raping other humanoid women which results in offspring of evil race. This is all mostly done by evil wizards who want obedient minions who do their bidding as long as they are given something to hurt or smash on regular basis.
