It's far better like this since most fancy deck boxes have a compartment for dice, meaning there's a lower chance of cheating since you can just pull them out/store them as needed.

This all can take centuries which is fine as it helps the slow, subtle transformation to occur, establish itself, and hive fleets don't have faster than light capabilities anyway.

Also, you're all assumed to be youths (unless you're the Mentor playbook), and your personal mess is defined by the two opposing principles that your character values, but hasn't made up their mind about, which is very thematic for characters in Avatar.
