all minis feel *off* in proportions for me, like the torso/hands/head size ratio, the sleeves are too bulky, etc.

Yeah, the game pretty much tells you that you aren't gonna keep ahold of anything outside of what you carry & even that is gonna be thin. Any treasure you gain gets pissed away drinking & whoring & living your life to the fullest, what does it matter if you lost some fabled treasure? You can always go on an adventure & get some more!

One cool thing is the alchemical creations & "petty enchantments". One such thing is reinforced clothing (which I used on my cloak) which makes it stronger than normal. If I remember right one of my other party members had an unbreakable glass club too which was cool until we used it too seal a big double door (he never got over having to leave it behind either, constantly talking shit about any other weapon he used even a magic dagger)

It's one of the reasons I took the spell Artifice of Yag, so I could conjure whatever I needed, whenever I wanted it, also Slaves of Dream & Darkness for sudden minions, distractions, fake creditials, etc.

Lol, Empireaboo mad as per usual. Newsflash Gordo, the good guys do always win and the bad guys do always lose, it's a fairytale in space. By the way, I don't mock you because you like the Empire, the Empire are cool, I mock you because you *don't* like the Empire, you're just too much of a fucking coward to collect WW2 Nazi armies like so you obviously want to.
>>
>>97262215
I don't get your schizo rant
My point is you need the villains to be a fucking threat to make victories look important. If the Empire always loses then it makes them a total fucking joke and the OT becomes pointless cause the Rebels would have won anyways. It's why George made the Empire win various times in the OT: they take over the Tantive, they successfully kill Ben, they win all throughout ESB and both Yavin and Endor are barely victories with tons of Rebel casualties. Lucas knew how to make the Empire threatening, Henry doesn't
This is the exact same thing we all complained about with TCW, the Republic always wins and the CIS always loses which makes the war a fucking joke.
>>
>>97262208
yeah just like that. I think the ak has almost enough greebly details as is, it just needs some fantastical aspect to it to help it blend into the setting.

This is different than the regular osrg as due to rampant trolling from a handful of bad actors, discussion is impossible.

Welcome to the Old School Renaissance General, the thread dedicated to first-decade, Gygaxian D&D, its faithful modern clones, and content created for use with them. Later editions (2e and newer) should be discussed elsewhere.

Broadly, OSR games encourage a tonal and mechanical fidelity to Dungeons & Dragons played as intended by its creators from 1974 to 1983 — less emphasis on linear adventures and overarching metaplots and a greater emphasis on player agency.

If you are new to the OSR, welcome! Ask us whatever you're curious about: we'll be happy to help you get started. We also have two excellent beginner guides created by Anons with feedback from the thread that you can check for help:

The Hide in Shadows change looks related to the Combat Backstab interpretation, if you can't move how the fuck are you backstabbing and since you now CAN move while in hiding, they probably nerfed the Move Quietly to make it fair.

But fuck if I know for sure and I'm not getting paid for defending whatever stupid shit Finch et al thought cute to play with so whatever.
>>
>>97259820
Hide in Shadows isn't a requisite for a successful backstab, however.
>>
>>97259820

This is funny, because Gygax in the DMG says the Hide in Shadows (in OSRIC only Hide) is one of the most abused ability by players. What Finch do? Make the ability more powerful

Bronze Age collapse

I just painted my first minis ever. I'm painting 15mm Germans and Americans. It looks meh. Besides the stupid skin tone which I will fix after buying some more paint tomorrow, what can I improve? (The base isn't primed yet, ignore that)
>>

>Which obscure conflict would you like to collect miniatures for and get a game going?
Dunno really, more interested in good rules rather than particular eras which tends to push me towards popular eras with more attention from rules writers. Sam Mustafa's Aurelian is on the cards down the track though, and I'd love to run Over The Hills and Far Away but that would be a big project readying it.

anyone know any cults/my mini factory makers of 30yw/english civil war era miniatures? Thus far Atlantic Games has a pretty solid line of renaissance era stls, and I've found the odd miniature arquebusier character on cults, but not much else.

Both Kroot and Eldar are canonically present in that corner of a galaxy
>>

You can say "die xenos" and pull a gun on both of them the second you meet them if you want to be a puritan. But radical inquisitors also do exist and have dealings with xenos all the fucking time
Like with any regime, official doctrine of the Imperium of Man is one thing, but shit the authorities do to keep things running behind scenes is a different thing altogether. Presenting this is good and gives the setting more depth
>>97261386
Loved RT and alpha for DH was solid as well, so sure
>>
>>97262005
You played the alpha huh, not as shonky as RT's alpha and release? I'd like to think they've learned from the abysmal state that game released in.
>>
>>97262460
I did not play RT alpha, so no direct comparison here, but for an alpha release and an Owlcat game, I'd say it was rather fine. Sure, there were some occasional bugs or things that needed more polish, but honestly I mostly just encountered some glitched animations, definitely nothing gamebreaking and I played for around 18 hours total. Characters got stuck in wall twice, but saving and loading fixed it.
That being said, Owlcat games tend to be so autistic mechanically with dozens of different effects affecting everything at any given time, that sometimes it's a bit hard to tell whether something is a bug or an intended aspect of something I'm not aware of at the moment, especially when playing for the first time
>>
>>97262503
I didn't play RT around release myself either, but heard some real horror stories. Good friend of mine even claims he was on the forefront of finding solutions to horrendous gamebreaking bugs, since while most others had given up trying to play the game in such a state he was powering through and using that cheat software constantly to make things work. Sounds like they have a solid basis to work from after RT though, I have solid hope for the release of DH.

Previous Thread: >>97090196

Welcome to /un0/, an RP thread for playing a World of Darkness/Chronicles of Darkness Hunter. For any OOC questions about WoD/CofD, check the official general. >>97224887

Rules:
>We are acephale. There is no storyteller, we are not a quest.
>This thread is based primarily but not exclusively in the nWoD/CofD game Hunter: the Vigil. However, Vigil is defined by being highly setting agnostic, with a system for creating entirely custom monsters that do not exist in other WoD/CofD games. Thus, you have significant freedom in what you want to play and what you want to hunt. Feel free to play a member of the Society of Leopold, or a member of the Lucifuge hot on the tail of a Lasombra.
>Namefagging is encouraged but by no means mandatory.
>Keep in mind that even highly experienced Hunters typically only have fractured pieces of the puzzle, and every table has their own canon. The night is dark and full of misinformation.
>/un0/ is conceived of as an experimental end to end encrypted program that is very hard to compromise, retains very little data and purges that data regularly. Please play an actual Hunter.
>Spoiler any OOC discussion.

Happy hunting.
Unless this thread somehow takes off like a rocket, this will be the last un0 thread for the foreseeable future. Towards the end of the thread, please give your feedback in regard to these shorter, limited run RP threads.

Funnily enough our invitation to the England gathering does have a crow on it. Apparently it'll be multiple day event, there'll be a costumed ball and everything. I'm not entirely comfortable with them asking me to bring the chair though.
>>97245407
Well I didn't mean to assume, I had just remembered from earlier Fed discussion. Perhaps they might be less careless employers, I don't know. Best of luck with your kraken hunt, the submersible looks useful but dangerous.
>>
>>97260252
Oh that is definitely pointing to the Abbey. I hope you are well off, they get picky about their dues. Sounds like the chair and the party is, perchance, leading to an execution to top off the ball. That or a hunt involving the werewolf. One can never be too sure unless you know the host. I am going to be stricken with envy if it isn't an execution. Positively green with envy, I can feel it.
Also feel free to tell me if I overstep, but could you ask your little friend in the book if they know anything about a rituals of renewal that happen at the year's turn? Everything I found about this script circle translates it as such but I can feel things are a miss and it is driving me up the wall.
>>
>>97259929
>To answer your question - ghouls are slaves to the vampire, doing their master's dirty work.
Shit man, I know about Renfields. Why call them ghouls though? They drink their master's blood, they don't eat flesh.

I still think you're playing this a bit risky anyway. So many things can go wrong and get a promising young hunter killed through no fault of their own.
>>
>>97259929
If you're that deadset on blooding her with a vamp, be sure to be there alongside her.
>>
Speaking of vampires. I'm glad I live out in the boonies and only hunt weird ugly stuff, half of which is the equivalent of a very dangerous animal.

Because I know I'd fold immediately to a sexy she-vampire.
