I want to make a character who specializes in gathering information. Basically I want to know everything and everybody, or to be able to quickly learn about something or somebody when that isn't the case.I'm not sure how to go about it. Obviously with a design goal as broad as that, this is not the kind of character that I expect to be fully realized straight out of chargen. Face skills seem like a nobrainer starting off, but what would be the best thing to focus on after that?Also Shadowrun thread. The character is for 5e using basic priority chargen.

Question about 5e weapon mounts: exactly which accessories on the weapon still count? Like say it's an SMG installed on a motorcycle. I don't see why a silencer or gas vents wouldn't apply, but a shock pad or a personalized grip don't make a lot of sense. What about a laser sight? Would a smartgun work, and if so would there need to be a smartlink in a camera connected to the vehicle, or would the user himself need one? Would the mount being remote manual affect things? I can imagine a personalized grip maybe working for manual operation. I doubt there's any official rules on most of this, but is there an agreed-upon community standard, or is it just whatever your GM will let you get away with?
