We've reached the point where GMs are now producing AI slop responses both in and out of character.
>>97223419NTA but I know both my GM and my fellow players, and I have no worries whatsoever about them using AI to generate responses, backstories or such. We've used AI to generate art for games on occasion, though, and I think that's one of the few things AI art is currently actually oretty good for.

>>97223329This standard of writing is an order of magnitude more competent and readable than the majority of people could ever put out. I'm glad that AI-generated text is going to become the bare minimum standard, and that one day in the not-too-distant future, I'll never have to read shoddy writing again.

>>97223411We place objective markers before deployment map, yes. We just also place objectives where there's not going to be any instant-victories if the right deployment map is rolled (early on we had too many games end immediately because we place 2 objectives in immediate range of where a DZ ended up being, and only 1 in the other with another 1 in no man's land). The center point of the objective can't be in the Deployment zone but the 3" area that you score within can. So yes, they are technically in no man's land but not in a meaningful way.To me it sounds like you're not really playing against shooting lists? if land raiders are "far from guaranteed" from getting killed. I'm losing a Spartan and half or more of the cataphractii inside turn 1 any time I deploy it in view/get 1st turn and move it forward. I've lost a Spartan and Typhon in turn 1 before.

>>97223577How do you envision him doing that? He was in a worse position. Even their own legions weren't 100% on board with their plans and required culling. A lot of rebellions were just local forces desiring independence or smaller warlords taking the opportunity to forge their own little empires, rather than being loyal to Horus. Him taking out the one thing that held the Imperium together was better. Considering the Emperor is both keeping Terra from becoming a daemon world and protecting humanity from becoming daemon spawns, taking Him out would've been way better for Chaos than a systematic war of conquest on all fronts. Without the Emperor and Terra, the Imperium would fracture and whatever empires rose to take its place would not be as unified.

>>97221870It was prequels if done by someone that thinks Star Wars sucked, aliens are stupid, space ships are dumb, and the series should just be a thinly veiled vehicle ton complain about politics. This is a second OSRG, seperate from the main osrg thread, where you CAN talk about 2e, retroclones, and any osr content you want. This is different than the regular osrg as due to rampant trolling from a handful of bad actors, discussion is impossible.
>>97223415It's almost entirely bullshit and relies on "sources" that are even more bullshit. It's so fundamentally wrong on so many basic points that it's almost laughable how you think it could trick anyone who even is vaguely aware of the genesis of the OSR. You'd genuinely have to be a complete idiot to think it's even moderately convincing.I've seen Flat Earthers come up with more believable documents, complete with dozens of official looking citations, and all just because they think it would be really funny to try and dupe gullible people and to demonstrate how easy it is for people to believe what they want to believe. And, here you are, being even worse than them, because you're not doing it for laughs, you're just a dumb cunt.

>>97223126not that anonI used to play go, but it's just slow as hell compared to chess. You don't have 4-10 move checkmate tricks there, or the equivalent of 1 minute bullet games. I used to dislike chess and prefer go instead, because I only knew about classic time controls, until I discovered internet chess.
Why did 5.5e drop the ball so hard? Everyone I know who likes 5e is staying with 5.0e. And more than a few of them have moved to 3.5, OSR, or other games entirely. Is WOTC just stupid?
>>97223312Long term sales. Design turns too many people off. 3.5 was not capable of holding itself up without MtG money backing it up. That's why we got 4E. The fact that it repeated itself word for word in Pathfinder, with late release experimental material prior to PF2 resembling that game far more than it did PF1 and then a total break from PF1, is proof enough.
>>97223270Nta but it's not stupidity but misdirection and maliciousness. 5e was making bank in his own merits... if it wasn't a product of a subsidiary company of a bigass corpo. In that context your product doesn't have to make enough money to sustain itself and make also a cut of it as profit, it has to GROW INDEFINITELY. The inane buzzwords vomited by corpodrones (like "supercharging the brand" and similar shit) translated in human readable language roughly mean "we're going to try and jump over the sharks with this bullshit, if we fail we can still make a fuckload of money by selling the sharks leftovers as chum for fishing", so basically the product success is a bonus that allows for more daring bullshits, it's not expected to necessarily work but to allow for extracting as much profit as possible even from failure.
>>97222929I blame microplastics in people's balls and brains, my ex-DM was whining about gay puertorrican orcs and I told him "you know you can make up your own stuff right? Even if you're following a module you can tweak whatever you want, nothing is set in stone" and I saw his mind being blown in real time
>>97223452I don't know about the actual extent of this gay shit in terms of actual game content (because i don't run 5e slop to begin with) but even if it is only illustrations i would personally find at least mildly annoying to encounter that shit every time i open the goddamn book i paid good money for, enough to make a throwaway joke/whine with my friends.>inb4 paid? >>97223568Yeah the push to sanitize certain races or make the game "friendlier" is annoying but it's all avoidable in the end. I can create a world where orcs are savage niggers (like liberals say they are) and no one can stop me

can I get some tips on making this homebrew item?Passive Shield - WornHP: 40 BT: 5 AC TARGET: +6 Hardness: 6A shield that is fitted directly on clothing/armor, requiring the user to strategically turn their body to take blows with the shield. Instead of requiring a raise shield action and a shield block reaction, this shield will automatically block incoming damage depending on the incoming attack roll. As long as the attack roll of the incoming damage is equal or under the sum of AC + AC TARGET, but above or equal your AC, the shield will block the damage, as if you had performed the shield block reaction. You can not use Raise a Shield with this item, and it does not give AC bonuses. It's for a PF2E total conversion into a mecha action homebrew system where the player has to fill one of their weapon slots with it, so don't worry about how it fits on a medieval setting.
