Foul Spawn/Hell Spawn are an interesting monster race given that they have multiple forms similar to insect races, but they have no societal structure and their forms are randomly determined rather than inherited. Assume that the BBEG is an adequate challenge and difficulty for your setting and party (whether it’s Exalted or DND or Rogue Trader or whatever, and the villain is always the right difficulty level for your party whether you’re lvl 1 or lvl 20 or a weenie or a Solar, the scale is perfect).

Basically is this guy a problem you and your crew would want to fix in whatever game you’re playing.

If he isn’t, what would it take to make him be a problem? A bigger bounty or reward? A personal friend that got turned into a harem slave?

That's such a group dependent thing. I noticed it Five tribe. Got a group where we play by feel, quick and dirty. Not instant snap decisions but noone thinks about his turn for more than 20 seconds. The game is really fun that way.
Then I played it with a different, more competitive crowd and the game was agonizingly slow and exhausting, and overall soured me on the design. Sure, you can say it's the players fault and the game wants to be played in a certain way, but I can't tell from just looking at it. Eg. Agricola would be shit if everbody just wings it.

Really, your milage may vary and tbis variance in experience is inherent to most mid-heavy games, but really, just give me a comment box in the rules or something so I know how to set the tone and get the best experience.

Lookshy is a large city-state, anon. 109K is a large city in the Age of Sorrows - not one of the largest, but sgain, it's in the fucking trees. A city with 100000 inhabitants up in the trees is one hell of an achievement. Halta as a whole would still have a couple of million inhabitants, making it a large nation by most standards save for those of the Realm. I think that you considering a totsl population of, what, 2-3 million and a capital city of 100000 inhabitants unimpressive shows just how completrly the lsughably bloated numbers in Kingdom of Halta have fucked up your perspective. In a world with the technological level of Creation, those numbers would make for a fairly important regional power even if we were talking about a more conventional ground-dwelling civilization that has an easier time with agriculture and travel. For a tree-dwelling civilization those numbers are all the more impressive. For Chanta, specifically, 100K is pretty much exactly where I'd want its population to be - it'd be a major city, it'd obviously tske some suspension of disbelief to buy it, but in a world as magical as Creation I could manage that degree of suspension of disbelief.

What I want definitely fits the setting. Whitewall's one of the major powers of the North and one of the great cities of Creation - it being bigger than Chanta, but not bigger than Halta as a whole, doesn't seem like a problem on any level. Neither does Halta having population comparable to the Haslanti League. In fact, Halta and the Haslanti having comparable numbers seems just about right to me. Linowan, too, are perfectly sensible, with population of Rubylak being counted in tens of thousands rather than hundreds of thousands. Halta in 1E and 2E is grossly out of scale with its surroundings, and what I'm suggesting would make it a better fit, not a worse one, for the rest of the East.

Yes, anon. Haslanti's fuckhuge area-wise and respectable population-wise, it's got major cities, it's technologically advanced, it might not matter that much to be a big deal in that part of the world because Far North doesn't have that much going on, but it's still a big deal. Haslanti are also more active and therefore more have more of an impact outside their own borders than the Haltan are.

Anyone know why Thanquol is in the very first Skaven army book, years before the Skavenslayer book is published? Was Skavenslayer actually put out first in some other form before the actual book? Seems weird to have Thanquol even be a special character before the book. His entire backstory in the army book basically just tells you the plot of Skavenslayer, which seems like a weird thing to say before the book is published. If you think he's bad now, you should have seen some time ago, when for one or two years for some unknown reason all of his trolling comments would be left up, while every comment talking negatively about AD&D 2e and even most infographics about O/A/B/X/D&D would be deleted on sight. After playing both the original Shandalar and the 2016 update version I've come to the conclusion that magic was just more fun in 1995 when it was more loose and relaxed. The kinds of decks you go up against in the 2016 version are so much more ruthless about shutting down every play you make that the only way to compete is to be an even more obnoxious dickhead and make sure they never get a chance to do anything. Every victory was bitter and spiteful in a way that I never felt with the older simpler Magic cards.

For all of this game's flaws theyl period after this is when they learned a lot of lessons that I think genuinely made this game better- the Lorwyn/Time Spiral era of the game was much more enjoyable then anything that came before, with varied and interesting decks, all card types actually being viable instead of creatures being dogshit, the rules being polished and the miserable shit that made the game dull being toned down to a minimum. I genuinely don't know how anyone can feel nostalgia for shit like Stasis decks, for Owling Mine or Circular fucking Logic.

lots of smaller CCGs have sims with full automation that are literally just community projects hand coded and maintained by one or two volunteers. mtg has an order of magnitude more cards in eternal than any of them, but with wotc's resources that's not an impossible task.
