He has a harem by which his army of half-blue warriors are created, but his current favorite girl is supposedly the sister of a city lord who employs the players and they're hired to rescue her. Neither the dragon nor the players know the damsel in distress is actually an ancient succubus sent as an emissary of an impossibly old chaos sea beast, and her enslavement to the dragon is the only thing keeping the current rise of demons, undead, and wild magic across the sands from becoming far worse.

I think no one but practitioners should know exactly HOW magic works (and I mean the specific effect desired by the magic-user) and no one should know WHY ir works (but different traditions and cultures should have their own beliefs and explanations). This should be enough for the players and GM to inform the roleplay.As a game resource, spells should be rare enough to be special but available enough to be considered useful.Another aspect I very much enjoy is increased randomization of effects. Should a character choose to relinquish control of the effect (or forced to do by circunstance), shenanigans ensue, which is always entertaining.
