That's actually something I've been looking for for quite a while, a system that would allow me to play some kind of NTR slice of life game where NPCs have some level of autonomy to surprise me. Love the idea of exploring and finding out about bits and pieces of what's happening. I I have done some tinkering and discovered that the Genesys system was fed into the later versions of ChatGPT. I was able to get it to explain the system, understand the dice roll mechanics, suggest dice pools based on situations, and even propose interpretation of dice roll results. Still developing it but very promising so far.

I ran with it last session. Its at its best when you're cracking an unattended NET without a runner or demon, as the ICE strictly cannot detect you until you hit their floor. If you slot Cloak you have as good odds of stealthing them as you would have slotting Speedy, but on a success you can just ignore them. They're completely inactive. I dodged a Killer using it and it made the other combat floors on the run doable.

If you break stealth... well boo hoo you're now just running like you would before, only you've taken less damage, you have less chance of having your programs broken and if you roll really hot you'll manage to go all the way to the bottom without having to roll a single attack roll.

I definitely recommend runners have more than one Deck prepared to try and sneak, but good Runners were already running at least two decks or planning for an equivalent.

It is, though I would say as a Ref you shouldn't always have Demons always call 911 so to speak. They're written to be rather myopic and are probably busy doing their control node job; so unless they're being prevented from doing their tasks or its specifically a high security net where a Demon (or runner) specifically has the job of watching it, you probably shouldn't deploy the rent-a-kill-squad as soon as someone touches the NET.

Another good excuse is cost. If you already have 2 control nodes, adding a third means going to a medium size net and that 7th floor adds +29,000€$ to total cost (all floors now cost 5,000€$, so the first 6 increase by $24,000€$).

And this is headcanon (unless Rache's guide to the net mentions this) but because red netrunners treat the net as VR instead of going unconscious and jacking in I claim that netrunners observe the world more slowly, based on net actions (2 net actions twice as slow, also this doesn't mean they can dodge bullets because their body doesn't react fast, so if anything being hurt irl and feeling the pain twice as long is even worse). So a sysop plugged into a massive corporate net would feel like their 8 hour shift takes 16-24 hours, so instead they only jack in every few minutes (like an office employee shaking their mouse so Microsoft teams doesn't out them for being afk). Another excuse was that smart offices have multiple systems (nobody wants security hacked because an attacker accessed the Bluetooth thermostat) so the sysop is slowly switching between them.

I sorta read the new rules and already forgot them, personally I'd just make a hardware that let's a player cloak once, NPC's roll once, and that settles it until they bump into the player. Less rolls the better.

Not that other anon, but a uniform anti-Magic and anti-Mundane save doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Various things might let you deal with a specific martial maneuver, like dealing with a feint is probably more of a mental exercise than a physical one, similarly dodging is obviously more of dexterous activity than a physical one. Similar ideas can be applied to magical actions taken against you.

Nat 20 worship is a dangerous path that an enormous procession of commentators have torn into before me.

The final problem I can see is this encouraging a bunch of special pleading for every action in combat. That's not necessarily the worst thing, but that entirely depends on if you have the social gravitas to shut down stupid/awkward shit the instant you see it.

Why are some people so afraid to run games?
I bought a beginners box for Star Wars: Edge of the Empire, on a whim when I was visiting a comic shop around 2012 or 2013 and had my first ttrpg Experience the following weekend as a GM.
Since then, my players and I had a great time and most of them started running games on their own.
So why the fuck do I see so many idiots online, mystifying the job of a GM? It should be easier than ever to run games today (yes even online three out of four games are totally fine, if you filter out the obvious morons).

That the point of the game is to simulate an actual play show like Critical Role (conversely the PHB tells players to learn to play from those), that your job as a DM is to make your players happy by casting Detect Thoughts and coming up with character arcs for their characters, that you have to be a fair referee and simultaneously to ignore rolls and game mechanics when they don't make for a good story

The top deck right now is white/red and the follower alternates between blue/black Kaito, green/white rabbits and then the various faggotry control decks. Then you get to Vivi (which is actually a best of 3 deck it doesn't perform in standard best of 1 that the majority of people play).
Monowhite life gain is characteristic of lower ranks where it is by far the most dominant deck which is why your dumb ass keeps running into it. Play monogreen poison or green/black poison to get out of the lower ranks, then once you're past 90% Mythic you can try something else.
The best ranking deck is artifact printer btw. but that requires a bunch of rares.
