I need help with something for a game. How do people know stories about astartes, sisters of battle, guardsman, etc? They don't usually work around civilian areas. Are there comic books, dramas, or whatever? Where do people get their info about them? I want write up stories about a astartes chapter that is in a near by system but how much accurate info would civilians have about the activities of Space Marines?

SoB and guardsmen are far more common since one is a part of the ecclesiarchy and the other is just off-world military service. It is extraordinarily rare for someone to see a space marine and their presence usually means there is something of worth for them to fight or just shit that needs purging. Either way, it should generally not be a pleasant time.

Adding dragons doesn't do anything and would bring into question a lot of what people like about Napoleonic warfare (the infantry tactics and formations that are unlike any other period). If you're interested in the period, by a copy of The Campaigns of Napoleon (David G. Chandler) and The Peninsular War (Charles Esdaile), read them, then buy a copy of either Age of Eagles or Field of Glory Napoleonics and enough Perry or Victrix figures to make a brigade with a few battalions of infantry, a unit or two of cavalry, and some guns.
This thread made me wonder how a napoleonic version of Dishonored would look like. Thats a type of setting that i can see working, with less focus on open warfare and more focussed about urban stuff, the occult and the supernatural. Just not with a victorian steampunk coat, but a napoleonic one.
