>>97364980Liver rook takes are good unless you've got something else available. Generally if I could get a check in a move or two I would hold the knight but without the foresight to follow up you're just missing out on a free rook. Under 1000 elo I'd say take the rook unless you're happy to choke a game while you learn more. Oddly, puzzles can be good for this kind of thing as well.Looking at it (god I wish we could pause these) you could have also checked with Bf7 then moved your queen up but black would likely have taken Qxh8 and recovered material without a solid follow through. It's hard knowing how good your opponent can see into the future.>>97374646>lichess>full of classless faggots>must be the Russians againFunny, I don't see this happen on chess.com. >>97398186If I am brutally honest there are some models I like from PGI though there are others I don't. My main criticism is that a fair chunk of their designs are way too fat and their hardpoint system ruins the aesthetics of many designs but did like some of their takes on some of the unseens.
>>97397665A Bradley is not light. A Bradley does not punch above its weight. It is a heavy IFV. A premier piece of warfighting equipment. It would best match to high tech slow lights that hit hard.>ClanAdder, Cougar
>>97397665Not sure the analogy is right but I'd say the Raptor for the IS. Not the best protected thing in the world but extremely well armed for something its weight and being an Omni can bring its own BA support without slowing down. Arctic Fox I'd say also falls into this category but I am not too fond with a lot of the configs.Clans you've got a choice of the Kit Fox, Adder or Cougar depending what config you go for. They ain't the fastest designs but they can pack a punch.
>>97398380I am going to be a pedantic faggot. He said the M3 which is the Cavalry Fighting vehicle. It only has 2 scout dismounts. Its not really a transport. Aside from being short ranged your suggestions seem pretty on brand for an M2.
>>97398294I'm guessing that anon is referring to the completely unexpected performance that the Bradley had during Desert Storm. Absolutely no one from either side anticipated it to be capable of engaging and absolutely annihilating entire battlegroups of tanks. The Russians, former USSR satellite states and everyone else who was buying their equipment shit themselves reading over those reports. They had expected it to perform something near the BMP and finding out they could actively seek out and engage armored formations was every bit as shocking as the performance of low weight Clan mechs was to the Inner Sphere.

Nonblue player here,I've been trying to brew this guy I've been having a lot of trouble. It feels like he just dies too easily and is too hard to flip for too little payoff. Does anyone else feel like he should have had 4 toughness and only needed you to draw a second card? He already has 0 power and his abilities are all kinda weak except the ult.

>>97397538I love guns far too much to actually make use of it but I can see the appeal. Bows are quieter than guns, are legal to own almost everywhere and have reusable ammo. However, I imagine you'll still get laughed at if you're the only merc at the function with a literal caveman weapon while everyone else has smartlinked gats that blow the wall out.
>>97395753The anime was nice advertising, but it didn't fix all the bugs and update the game. The game was undercooked. It needed another month or two worth of bug-fixing time. Also, the console versions were not really up to snuff. CDPR should have just made it a PC exclusive or only released it for consoles after they figured out how to optimize the game better. They obviously got better at optimization at some point since the thing is running on a Switch 2 now.
>>97397953They won't be laughing at 5d6 HEP damage
>>97397538Cool if you lean into it, being "the guy with the bow" is fun. But as a serious alternative to guns? Not a fan. I file it under 'Gimmick' like the guy who only uses swords, or fists, or explosives, or poison, etc. But you could hypothetically strap any sci-fi gadget to an arrow and do something cool with it. Just off the top of my head:>Microphone arrow, listen in to target from afar>Sensor arrow, get HUD info on the room it's in>Explosive arrow, obviously>Poison gas grenade arrow>Strobe arrowBasically anything you can pack into a fistful you can design into an arrow, or sometimes duct tape onto it. Welcome to the Old School Renaissance General, the thread dedicated to first-decade, Gygaxian D&D, its faithful modern clones, and content created for use with them. Later editions (2e and newer) should be discussed elsewhere. Broadly, OSR games encourage a tonal and mechanical fidelity to Dungeons & Dragons played as intended by its creators from 1974 to 1983 — less emphasis on linear adventures and overarching metaplots and a greater emphasis on player agency. If you are new to the OSR, welcome! Ask us whatever you're curious about: we'll be happy to help you get started. We also have two excellent beginner guides created by Anons with feedback from the thread that you can check for help: >n00b DM's Guidehttps://pastebin.com/EVvt6P0B>n00b Player's Handbookhttps://pastebin.com/XALkXkV0 >Troves, Resources, Blogs, etc:http://pastebin.com/9fzM6128 >Need a starter dungeon? >>97398401Yeah that's the direction I'm trending. More of a typical S&S explanation.
>>97398060Reading this module and it seems great so far - in fact I’m wondering if a description of a hypothetical downed ship in the 3.5 Dungeon Master’s Guide draws on this. For anyone that has run Expedition to the Barrier Peaks 1) How easily is it adapted for B/X and 2) I feel like showing the illustrations when instructed kind of gives the game away very quickly. Does anybody have any ideas?
>>97397995The game Worlds Without Number was supposedly inspired in part by BotNS, but that's a system and not a setting or module. Fomalhaut is a setting with science-fantasy aspects, but it's very dissimilar from either Vance or Wolfe, and is more like a cynical orientalist pulp setting – Harryhausen's Sinbad movies and Lamb's Khlit the Cossack stories come close, I think.Anomalous Subsurface Environment is a never-completed megadungeon set in a postapocalyptic sci-fantasy wasteland, but again it's less Wolfe and more Gamma World; Mad Max meets Mad Magazine. These are the closest things I can think of offhand, but to be honest, I think you'll struggle to find anything that replicates Wolfe's baroque strangeness.
>>97398493>I feel like showing the illustrations when instructed kind of gives the game away very quickly.Yes and no. If you read the descriptions and look at the illustrations of the various items, you'll probably notice that they're deliberately created to trick people into misidentifying them on the basis of their familiarity with Star Trek and such, so they take the devices' functions for granted and zap themselves in the face with lasers. The illustrations showing the players that they're clearly onboard a flying saucer are part of the setup for these other illustrations with which to mislead them.
How does it stack up against Gammaworld and GeneStorm?
>>97394496It is something that D&Drones refer to as a feat tax. If you can take it you do and are a fool if you don't. Every package that can take Boxing should say some thing like "Athletics Program - Boxing and 3 Physical Skills." Because everyone who takes it will take Boxing.
