Sometimes I use "The big wash" where I borderline pour it on. It can make a cream cloak into a yellow one better than any layering.

Other times I do gap filling with milliput after the basecoat and wash. It's easier to see gaps like that. Then I just paint over it and wash it. This also lets me do arms in assembly better

Painting on contrast and then painting that with medium while it's already on the figure to make it flow good and become a wash. This works wonders on shields

To do straps and webbing I paint black, then white on the top, then wash really heavy black on the sides and top, then white again.

I cut integrated bases off and only base after a figure is fully painted. I also fully build and paint each base before gluing a figure on.

Sometimes I wash a colour with the exact opposite shade to make it duller instead of mixing paints. This works well.

Technical paints can be washes if you force them to be.

Need some advice, I'm starting my very first campaign in a few days. The DM has played with a different group for a few years but all players have little to no experience.
I built my dude and am now wondering how much effort I should put into backstory and the flavor side of things. I made him pretty a pretty generic sword and shield fighter on purpose to keep things simple. Like a mage with it could rapidly advance their magic, but not necessarily their martial prowess.
I want to avoid spreading my jumper's skillset too far and prefer specializing, but if you can become a master of anything in a few weeks/months that doesent really make sense.

It just felt so aimless for very long periods of time and then when something actually happens it's usually started and resolved in the same episode.
The idol gets more screen time than the main heroine it feels like, and I really didn't like her. Lots of episodes meandered and didn't really give us any deeper insights into the main characters or the plot. Main girl is cute and a good partner for the main character but their romance plot only starts in the semifinal episode.

It just feels very empty at points, and not in a slice of life way. Nothing happens and we don't get to interact with the characters that matter as much as we should.

If it were me I would focus less on the super-of-the-week early on or at least focus more on the main characters and their interactions as they go about it. Cut the idol completely. Focus more on how MC likes main girl after the trauma episode so that the conversion doesn't come out of nowhere with zero impact.
But at that point it's a different show in a different genre, so I'll shut my mouth and accept that I was looking for something else and I'm just complaining that I didn't find it. I do think it durdled around too much on irrelevant things and didn't give enough attention to the things that mattered though.

I wonder, in order to update the Technocracy to the current era, what would have to change? For one I think it wouldn't be proper to call it a Union since its not socialist enough anymore. Maybe the Technocratic Syndicate/Corporation?
Also I assume New World Order would focus more on memetic warfare and weaponize influencers? The Syndicate would be based around stuff like blockchain and be the Convention most likely to defect the Technocracy and join the Traditions due to their new rebel nature and Startup founders (going the Virtual Adepts way?)
I also think maybe Iteration X would be more powerful than when Ascension was first released. Void Engineers would definitely have Elon and SpaceX I guess?
What other changes would you introduce, anon? More cyberpunk stuff?

Use Phoenix Command Hand-to-Hand or Sword's Path Glory. They handle this and more through modelling of wound channels in a computer model of a human body with lethality and penetration resistance values assigned to different tissue types. It's a much more elegant way of handling this issue and eliminates pretty much every weird result you've ever seen.

Crafting is not a major issue in my system, because wealth doesn't translate directly into power. Player characters only need vast amounts of wealth if they want to improve their social standing, if they like the idea of engaging in businesses, buying warships to become privateers or something similar to that.
