>>97396284The centurion prime is legitimately insane. EW(2) is absolutely nuts, couple with their reaction and hes borderline unkillable.Their inductii are really good, the legion trait is very solid, grave wardens are good. Deathshroud are niche but better than in 2e. Im not sure what more you could want from them. They dont haver anything outright broken about them, but theres nothing weak either, just solid fundamentals and some occasional spice.

Finally got my Friends to pick up TTS over the steam sale. Going to give them a gothrough of Agartha when I can get the time. A few of them played a couple of years ago before jamboard died but things have changed so much that we'll all be relearning a fair amount of stuff. It is somewhat odd to realize that there are now old players who have to be caught up with rules changes. Actual factual Agarthan Grogs, of a sort.

>>97392148Dumbass
>>97392148The Roman Empire was not "founded" you retarded midwit, they didn't all just suddenly start calling themselves an Imperium. They literally kept referring to themselves as a Republic after Caesar took power and after Augustus succeeded him. Because both Julius and Augustus structured the Empire as the Republic 2.0, where the Senate would still do the majority of the governing, the courts would still settle all the disputes in the provinces, and the Imperator was nothing more than a permanent version of the previously temporary Praetor title. If you're referring to Augustus's civic reforms, he mostly targeted the rotten bureaucracy of Rome, kicking out the corrupt slime that were running its institutions and its temples. He did not make radical alterations to the Senate itself. There was no need.

>>97394688>>97394725People hating on the art are just nerds who are still assblasted from playing against a stasis deck 15 years ago.
>>97394725Symbolism of WHAT?
>>97387267Wait, you're right. The Anubis, the Pierrot, the literal scale it does all represent balance. But the artist was thinking balance = stasis because everything within a stasis is as it was exactly when put into stasis, thus it's in a perfect balance. The issue with any of these symbols or even the entire scene representing stasis though is that none of it feels like it is static, the scale will eventually tip, the pierrot will eventually clown, the Anubis will eventually eat the heart or do god shit. Balanced scales aren't a good example of stasis because we know scales are meant to be used. Or basically as others have said, the artist was a fart huffer.
>>97386938I rather like the art on this card.
>>97395215Balanced scales are not moving hence they are in stasis.

>>97396780That wouldn't even be so bad if it was donr consistently. It's just that some locations have the kinds of numbers that make sense in a premodern world and some don't. In Halta's case it's the disparity with the Linowan that's the biggest, though not the only, problem.
Oh neat they do talk about agriculture in the 1e Halta bookAnd in 1E Chanta is only over a million people, not two million
>>97396507Hygiene is pretty easy to imagine, they probably have a specific location to do their basic necessities, and let gravity do the rest.Similar to the head of old sailing ships.
>>97396832Yeah. for whatever reason 2E's writeup for Halta bloated the numbers, or at least the population of Chanta, even further.
>>97396838Shitting over the side just feels so unmagical.Which is weird because I also don't like how it means they can't really use their waste products, which is a level of realism the game probably doesn't need. It's just in medieval times people collected piss and shit for things, so they should here too.Toilet paper shouldn't be hard, bidets from little tree spigots, toilet plants with "plumbing" separate from the rest of the tree? I just don't know lol. Whatever the plumbing is though it can't be metal cus, well, that'd be so out of place imo.

>>97394851The owlcat game actually has a lot changed from RT. The whole class system, those in-combat abilities, etc. are owlcat's thing. Wounds and characteristics don't stack that hard for instance.
>>97394851>I played the Rogue Trader vidya which seemed really crunchy. The mechanics in Rogue Trader vidya have almost nothing to do with how the actual tabletop works, other than attribute names, d100 rolls (which also don't work exactly the same) and some loose inspirations it's a 100% different system. That being said, FFG games ARE fairly crunchy, so if that's a concern for you, it's a fair one
>>97394864>>97394883>>97394896Cool well I think I'll keep reading IM then. Thanks guys!
>>97374728The fact that SoB orders are much less atomic than Marines and much more rigid and identical in look is one of the great reasons that makes the former waaaaaaayyyy harder to turn them into YourGals than the later into YourDudes. In addition to the fact it's way easier for the average hobbyist to tinker with the larger models. We need more lore and visual diversity for minor orders.
>>97394306Most of their lore is recanononizing squat lore, the real problem is too many of their models lack good design. Their vehicles look like Tonka trucks, their power armor is generic, and most damning of all, they don't have beards.
Any experiences with this? Any recommendations for it if you have played it?
>>97396547>directly stating I expect the approach to the goal is garbage is "defending" the systemNo, I am simply interested in honest assessments instead of knee-jerk Thing Bad.
>>97396521If your game design focus was to be as big a Jew as possible, your mechanics are probably shit. And like most Modiphius products, that's true here.
>>97396752>If your game design focus was to be as big a Jew as possibleAre you genuinely incapable of seeing any line between the rules content of the system and how it is sold?
>>97396723Survival could be interesting game play, but, in the scope of table top, the interesting thing is risk/reward management. Things like>Should we try to take the bandit camp, even though it's risky?>Should we keep travelling through the night to get away, even though it's dangerous?>Should we press on into the next settlement, even though it will stress our supplies?>Should we go one level deeper into the military complex, even though we are low on healing items?Fallout 2d20 doesn't do that. It's solely interested in recreating the explore-fight-loot-craft loop of fallout 4 and 76. The way it expects GMs to accomplish this is rolling up a stream of random encounters locations with random loot. It leads to a gameplay loop where players aren't making interesting survival decisions, they're going "let's keep going because I need 2 junk and 3 duct tape to make a scope that will give me a tiny bonus on my shooting."If you think that relentlessly exploring randomly generated scut encounters so you can collect junk sounds like an appealing ttrpg scenario, you shouldn't. You should want better things for yourself. It's fucking shovelware game design.
>>97396796Are you genuinely incapable of understanding why people wouldn't want to support a company, even spiritually, when they are so completely anti consumer as to sell an incomplete game? The core book is marketed as the only book you need to play the game, and then you find out that a competent integral to the design of the game isn't in said book.

So my DND group was kind of disolving, 2 out of the 4 players left because of life issues (one got a job abroad and the other one is dealing with life), to keep playing we incorporated 2 new players with not so much experience but avid watchers of Critical Role. One of these player conditions was that we incorporate x cards to the game, she says that it makes it much more comfortable for her to know she can avoid unpleasant story elements having this tool. I started to read a bit about it online and is this something you guys have used? In my 20 years playing I've never used this.
>Character wants to explain their queer upbringing>X card it>Character attempts to resist rape>X card itI don't see the issue
>>97363372>>97363378The mistake was not vetting people who get to sit at your table, the only people at mine are those i know and get along with and know others at my table get along with. I never had to use X cards because of that.>>97363508It's just used by bad faith actors who want to co-opt other people's table where everyone else is having fun. If the only person who isn't getting along and having fun is you well the problem might be you not the other people.
>>97393888Theater also attracts narcissists. Outside of Shakespearean or period acting which attracts nerds and autists most mainstream theater is full of narcissistic retards that are all about their own success. A lot of the "professional rioters" we see in the US are also theater kids.
>>97379627A lot of west coast nerds are into the bdsm/poly scene because they don't get sex otherwise so I'm not surprised. A lot of nerds are also gay so all the gay sex culture is coming into mainstream rpg stuff now too. The whole consent shit is for hypergamic homosexuals and women who emulate homosexual male culture as a form of empowerment/equality.
