>>97234802>>97234965>>97235526I judge not what the peasantry do to get their kicks or survive. I will judge their insides though, and if they make for some good artwork for my manse. Some even double as a drinking fountain but they're too much work to maintain and my guests don't typically enjoy such meaty appliances. It's a modern day tragedy, that's what this is.
Hey guys i was looking at myself in the mirror last night and i think i saw a wolf-like shape behind my refelection. Do anyone knows what that
>>97236845Son of a bitch, there goes another one. And on Christmas, too. Shame.
A year ago I was still your goth girl next door flipping off every man, woman and child dressed as Santa on my way to the club. It's Christmas and I ain't merry. Boyfriend on high alert, women out there squeezing the simps' bank accounts dry, the mansion became this Tim Burton movie with dolls in dresses patrolling like toy soldiers.I finally got the date with the smoking fetishist.Boring black BMW. Prehistoric frock coat. Fuck his Cologne and whoever sells it, it'd get any woman to smoke herself to death. To quote my boyfriend, it got worse.Four fucking hours of smirking, scoffing, sneering, blowing smoke in this gen Xer kine's dumb face, dumping ash on him down every corner of NYC. Having the color of my hair and eyes, and my cold, pale skin praised, my black furs smelled... This shit is tame. Tame by ex-Sabbat blood doll standards. Tame by my standards. Uncreative. We got to his place where I had him lick ash off my shoe, made him thrust his cock into grey donut-shaped clouds, burned him with my cigs. Still tame, but better. Got my ashtray really turned on. In the end I masturbated while smoking on his bed and looking away from him as he jerked off on his knees. As soon as he came, the guy wanted to schedule another night right away, and unholy fucking shit how bad did I desire to pull an Assoluta, and reject him to raise the stakes, but he paid extras on top of extras I ain't even asked. Before I got out of his car I said: "If I told you this is my first time doing this, would you believe it?" Hook, line, sinker, extras. "Next time I make smokey bacon out of you." I flipped my "Santa."What did I buy Boy Toy with my first taste of success? I clapped my hands twice, staff delivered him a bouquet of black&red roses. My man laughed. He's been laughing for ten good minutes now. He rarely laughs. Is there a connection with Venus' sire having the opposite problem?I take it all back. It's Christmas and I am merry.I hope all of you are merry too

>>97238288I'd say so. Protection from Evil says that it blocks any attempt to exercise mental control over the creature, and Command Undead is stated to be "under the mental control of the evil cleric". >>97238303Pg 159 of the PHB says otherwise
>>97238306Looking at the wrong section, because it procs on the same mechanics as Turn/Destroy.The situation you are creating is this: could you slap this on a mindless undead to prevent the necromancer who raised it from commanding it, as it works on the same basis? All told, you would be better served taking this to your DM, because there are arguments for and against. I would exercise discretion as 'No', because Turn mechanics are generally their own thing divorced from many of the generalities of the system.
>>97238306thanks, I thought it was probably something like that.>>97238334>The situation you are creating is this: could you slap this on a mindless undead to prevent the necromancer who raised it from commanding it, as it works on the same basis? Also something important I haven't considered. In your opinion what would be necesarry to protect an undead from rebuke/command attempts? I know theoretically Death Ward would work, but that can only target living creatures.
How would you approach using Utterances as magic item Command Words? My own first instinct would be having a modest DC 10+CL Truespeech check required to "just" activate it as a magic item independently of the Utterance from the "conventional" magic having much looser tolerance and some Circumstance bonus for knowing the corresponding Utterance, so relatively light training towards it all but guarantees the "base" magic item effect to avoid wasted actions. Then a function for Truespeech (and Spellcraft?) checks (DC 20+CL+2xUtterance level?) with a table for stuff like reducing the DC by constraining to a singular option within the Utterance or increasing it to work with the Utterance-altering feats.Probably bundle with items designed around this like a Command Word-based alternate scroll or potion to pair with Metamagic Catalyst. Maybe some Perfect Map Wondrous Architecture like Portal-to-Portal Redirect with a Conjunctive Gate Command Word that acts as a password for convoluted teleport puzzle dungeon design or using the Utterance-repeat on Master of the Four Winds to retrigger something....Strikes me that a good "Magnum Opus" for this setup would be an Intelligent Magic Item (thus allowing Evolving Mind) with the "defining" feature of creating a copy of itself as a Permanent spell effect then slapping the copy with Ritual of Renaming to move the "pointer" for the "real" version to the copy, so it's rendered one-of-a-kind because attempting to recreate this alongside what it's to facilitate (probably exploding it with Rebuild Item immediately thereafter) just triggers this effect no matter where in existence you are or what countermeasures you attempt.
>>97238701I would look at turn resistance.Turning is actually not that 'good' in terms of action economy, and there are a handful of ways to increase your turn resistance. To wit, if you are against someone with double your levels, why the hell are you fighting them at all? Such a foe would have plenty of faster ways to take you out than relying on turns, and Command ends if the character dies.Is this a thought experiment, or an actual situation you are dealing with?

>>97226437Don't bother trying to make a character that "realistic." You're playing a fictional fantasy character in a fictional fantasy game. Make it a mix of characteristics from characters you like. This applies to male characters too btw.
>>97228386>That encourages a highly pragmatic, practical lifestyle and outlook, as well as either discouraging empathy (because you don't want to think about the feelings of the orcs you're killing), or simply doesn't care about it most of the timeBased on my experiences with combat soldiers who routinely are exposed to life-threatening situations, there's also a 100% chance that the adventurer would be a massive slut. Not because they're a woman, but because basically EVERYONE who gets into that situation, where you could die in any day and you know it turns into a massive slut when they're somewhere safe. You end up just living for that day and barely considering the long view, if at all.But it's not ok for a man to depict a woman as an invertate slut, even if it's a logical consequence of the situation she finds herself in.

>play small race>stack AC as high as you can>pick the Mounted Combatant feat>sit on the shoulders of an exposed party mate with comparatively low ACWhat's the best way to implement this idea at various levels? Because of a difference in wording, this concept doesn't work in the 2024 rules, but fortunately, most reasonable tables still use the 2014 rules.
TTRPGs are a social game first and foremost. That means there's unspoken rules that vary from group-to-group, but a common one is "acceptable breaks from sensibility" in the name of game experience or table cohesion. It's the kind of thing that keeps the bitter rivalry between the Elf and the Dwarf largely to amusing banter and not outright PvP. It's an innate instinct: nobody likes to spoil the atmosphere, because that's a large part of the appeal of a good game (alongside the freedom). That being said, there are also times when the group's course of action is patently retarded and you can't meaningfully push back on it without feeling like you'd cause a big fight over nothing (and then feel obligated to keep comrades away from the consequences), or something a character cannot abide has to be "sanded over" somewhat, or you as the GM don't want to cultivate the feeling that you're antagonizing your players by hitting them over the head with "you murdered someone because it was convenient and didn't even take measures to cover your tracks" or whatever unhinged misadventure occurred because something about the player position of the table cause human beings to lose IQ. Have you ever had that feeling? I think I see enough greentexts to think it's common.
>>97236791Players might leave the tavern. They are interested in Boblin. Boblin is now either a minion of the important wizard or afraid of the important wizard.
>>97236850>As the players try to leave the tavern and exit the door they find themselves surprised to see the same exact scene before. Try as they might no matter how many times they go through the door the same sight stands before them and the Wizard stares at them.
>>97237225That's just railroading unless being trapped in the bar and finding a way out is the puzzle.
>>97238503You're right. The wizard definitely cannot have any agency or make decisions which influence the players. This situation is definitely railroading and not a consequence of the PCs actions. Nothing in the game should be able to take actions which affect the players without the PCs consent. How silly of me. Thank you for the correction, anon. I shall mend my ways forthwith.
>>97228087>How often do you feel you have to cater to party retardation?Depends on the group, when I play with retards it's only 80% of the time.If I played with better people I think we could get that down to a 20-30%, even if the party was made entirely of perfect players I don't think that number would be a zero, we're all retarded sometimes, even the Ref.>I think I see enough greentexts to think it's common. Two errors with this by the way, greentexts as a concept are innately exceptional stories, no one wants to read or remembers the vast majority of sessions, because most go normally & even the majority of good or bad ones aren't to the level of good or bad that a greentext post needs to be. Most are highly specialised to that group of individuals too, it's the result of multiple sessions of build up.The other problem is that you think most greentexts are real.

Has there been a reason given why the power 9 are in the client but not craftable? It was my understanding with the Explorer -> Pioneer change that it is the intention to turn Historic into Legacy and Timeless into Vintage or am I wrong in that assumption?I got a severe autism attack and now I have to play through MtG in chronological order ;_;
>>97238555oracle of the alpha conjures the power nine into your library is why.
>>97238555First of all, nice trips. Now then,>It was my understanding with the Explorer -> Pioneer change that it is the intention to turn Historic into Legacy and Timeless into Vintage or am I wrong in that assumption? You are wrong. Entirely different formats. Historic has a lower power level than Modern, let alone Legacy. Fetches and most relevant free spells are banned. Timeless is closer to Vintage, but they likely won't be adding the power 9 any time soon because they'd shake up the format too much.
>>97238596There are also some other Alchemy cards that create one of the moxen respectively. Also Tropical island is in the client but I forgot what card conjured that one up>>97238605Very disappointing that they would rather create a new 'pseudo vintage' format instead of supporting the existing one. With the recent Power Cube draft I hoped they would move more towards completing the meta.

>>97238622The average MD player is likely legally retarded like you observed. I'd suggest picking up a White Forest+Azamina+Diabel core in person so you can better practice playing a non-linear deck against more competent opponents trying to interact with you to build better sequencing habits.

>says that thinning paint isn't needed>post a picture saying the paint looks fine>chunkiest shit ever known to menis this guy blind?
Are you painting abstract geometric shapes and not miniatures? The only problem you'll probably have is pigment not being applied uniformly and the fact that your paint will dry very fast on your brush. Are you painting miniatures? You know, from Latin "minimus" implying the existence of small details? Thin your fucking paints.
Looks good to me
You know, I’m surprised there aren’t consumer grade 3D auto painters yet. You put a model in - it 3d scans the figure, then you select paint shades and area on a computer, and then it mixes and paints to desired effect.
>>97234752But only using a GW brand autopainter and paints though, right? If auto painters came out some autist would be checking to make sure nobody used 3rd party paint (or god forbid, painted by hand models!) at the next tournament.
>>97234557>miniatures>You know, from Latin "minimus" implying the existence of small details?Miniatures is from Latin "miniare" meaning "to paint red".

What kind of fantasy monsters are you into? I like original abominations, standard humanoids/mythological creatures/giant animals are boring to me.
>>97228543I like where this is going. Other thoughts:>Large-scale farming would be difficult; smaller communities would likely have "village hunts" whenever a monster showed up, while larger communities would probably have dedicated slayers, either as traveling professionals or an actual military>Doing anything in the sea would be dangerous, as larger monsters could be anywhere and damage ship hulls fairly easily while being nearly impossible to defend>People will find ways to make use of monster corpses and byproducts (eat monster meat, use monster slime, concoct monster poisons, show off monster trophies, etc.)>Settlement defenses vary based on what monsters are endemic to the region (e.g. defense against burrowing monsters requires building on solid stone foundations)>Specialized equipment would exist for killing or deterring specific monsters very effectively (e.g. alcohol-based "thinner" bombs for throwing at oozes to dissolve them to death by reducing their viscosity, large portable bells/gongs for ruining the hearing of creatures that rely on sound, etc.)>Societies would progress slowly since it would be difficult for a country to reach a state of safety and security where it could support scholarship and research; once such a country emerges though, it might progress quickly due to all the innovations associated with funding warfare research>For living monsters, they'd need to be able to reproduce fast enough and on few enough resources to be a consistent threat; humanoids would exterminate them within a matter of centuries otherwise through violence and starving them out (this part is irrelevant if monsters spawn through magical means)>If undead exist, most cultures would have funerary rites that destroy the body (e.g. cremation); most undead would come from bodies humans couldn't destroyNone of this considers any magic that a society may or may not have, or that monsters are anything other than innately hostile to human life.
