Have you played the brawl challenge, and if so, which commander?

I haven't had to give up on a deck in so long, I actually don't know.

Can I get some help with something please?
I decided to get back into Arena but couldn't remember which mail I used for the last time I wanted to "Seriously" get into it.

I've played Arena twice in the past, each time with a different mail but I can't remember which of the two was my last play and loging into both I can't find enough clues.

I do notice something weird tho:
One account has outright more events than the other. Why is this?
I have my suspicions of the mail B being my most recent profile because I completed all color challenges there but that's the one with just six events.
>>
>>97233193
>One account has outright more events than the other. Why is this?
B is a noob account. You haven't completed Sparky's challenge on it, so the other events are locked.

This is a second OSRG, seperate from the main osrg thread, where you CAN talk about 2e, retroclones, and any osr content you want.
This is different than the regular osrg as due to rampant trolling from a handful of bad actors, discussion is impossible.

>What are your favorite monster synergy encounters?
I'm the anon who posted >>97227844 earlier. I'm still liking the idea of were-whatevers serving as mounts until combat starts/a little after. If things get dire for them they may infect already injured minions. The drawback is that the new were-creatures would be basically guaranteed to be feral.
For a different idea I like the idea of a desert encounter where a bulette is after the party. Like the movie tremors there are some rocks that are safe spots to stand on. Unfortunately there is a monstrous bird that has started hunting with the bulette. When they stand on the rocks it tries to push the party members off and onto the sand. If someone is a Halfling or other small race, they risk just getting carried by the bird and dropped far away from the rocks. The bulette and the monster bird tend to split meals evenly, if someone gets caught out from the party they will do their best to catch that person.

The other responses to this have put in some options. It's a setting and not a system, but Qelong is a setting based on fantasy Cambodia that is currently being fucked up by a war between wizards that is happening adjacent to it. An artifact from their war worked its way there and is causing all sorts of problems. I'll be honest, I don't know how good it is, but it is a source you could look at for some ideas.

You ask me, the Dreadnought and Xyston a bigger offender than the Supremacy. The latter for being a boring design and the former for being boring and stupid.
The Supremacy is at least something we hadn't seen before; a mobile shipyard base (and a far star destroyer).
>>
>>97232961
Well, yeah. They certainly can't destroy stars, so that's the only other interpretation that makes any sense.

Though it seems like the Empire uses "destroyer" in the same broad, meaningless way that the late-20th century American navy does, where basically any surface combatant counts as a destroyer.

▶What is Kingdom Death?
Kingdom Death is a tabletop miniature brand stared by Adam Poots and operated by himself and his Team that later spun off into a miniature based bored game funded by two very successful Kickstarter campaigns.

▶What is Kingdom Death: Monster?
Monster is a Nightmare Horror cooperative boss battler/miniature hobby game for 1-4 players about hope in a strange world of bizarre monstrosities and perpetually darkness. Players take on the role of survivors that band together to form a settlement, fighting monsters, crafting weapons and gear, and developing their civilization to ensure survival from generation to generation.

Prologue Narration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNLc8dHv0Ac

The Game is broken up into 3 phases:
1. During your Hunt Phase your band of survivors traverse the world of KD in pursuit of their quarry.
2. After successfully tracking your quarry you will begin the Showdown Phase, where you must fell these horrific creatures in order to acquire precious resources.
3. After the battle, your survivors wander home with loot in hand to begin the Settlement Phase. Arm yourself by developing new weapons and bizarre structures to prepare for next year's hunt.

I will say its mostly just been bad luck. I am a statistical anomaly with how bad my luck is with and game involving dice. Also our first two runs we did completely blind and did not meta, per say. I do feel we are much better then when we first played.
>>
>>97233035
Gotcha. Well, I wish you better luck in the coming year, then.

Also, another thing I forgot to mention with SotF, is that per Poots directly the "you must keep this result" part of the text only means you can't go back to the original result, not that the new result can't be rerolled. Also, SotF rerolls on multi-die rolls such as SotF intimacy will reroll one at a time, not both.

So in short:
- Anybody present can reroll any die. During settlement phase, any survivor can reroll anything. During hunt and showdown phase, any departing survivor can reroll anything. I assume this counts scouts too? Haven't played since GC came out like I said but it seems to fit the pattern.
- The same die can be rerolled as many times as you're willing to throw rerolls at it.
- When rerolling a multi-die roll (such as SotF intimacy or an attack roll), each reroll only affects one die.

It is easy mode but it's how Poots says it works so I guess that's how it is.

>What is Trench Crusade?
An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.

>What Trench Crusade is not
TC not an excuse for you to discuss IRL religion, history that didn't occur in the game, culture war shit, or discord bullshit on /tg/. Keep it on topic.

>What's the QRD on the background?
The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.

To steal from another wargame I've played, one of the factions can 'Evolve'.
Each unit has two things they can 'evolve' into. By default the player can evolve one unit a turn, but some abilities let them try to evolve more.

For example, their chaff unit has two evolutions
- Kill self and turn into a bunch of resource for the rest of the warband
- turn into another unit type, but keep the same hp

and another unit has these evolutions
- gain 1 HP and armour, attack deals significant extra damage under some conditions
- gain 2 HP, their other ability increases the damage and push distance a bit.
>>
>>97231876
Heretic Legion and its variants. They are by far the most straightforward faction. No weird gimmicks or special mechanics. Great for learning the ropes and then moving on to more complex factions.
Speaking of more complex factions, New Antioch definitely takes the cake in that regard. It looks like it's a simple, long-range, heavily armored faction, while in reality its anything but. Investing in armor is useless when playing it, it doesn't have great melee capabilities, and it excels specifically in close-quarters ranged combat. On top of that, you also need to master activation economy and it's fireteam special mechanic. It really has a steep learning curve and a tall skill ceiling on top of that. It's great and I personally love it, but it may not be for everyone, especially newcomers.

Sorry to disappoint you, but there's no AI involved. But I'll be charitable and spell it out because this thread is full of actual retards. It's NOT about wanting a strong, capable partner or not. It's that you closeted faggots specifically want a partner that is bigger and stronger than you. A woman can be strong, capable, etc, without having to be your superior. But you lust after a partner that makes you feel weak by comparison, someone who handles physical problems that you can't, someone that literally overshadows you. That is some super-faggot behavior.

The only middle ground between GOAT and Modern YGO (that actually has a decently sized community and is often played at locals) is Edison. The entire format is dirt cheap besides the 1-of Trap Dustshoot, there's not a single deck that completely wrecks the competition and you don't even need to play Synchros if you're okay playing stun.
>>
>>97233192
The real issue is not the fixed cardpool. It's the players being very attached to the idea of playing with a fixed banlist that didn't even addressed some problematic cards at the time. People could always just come up with some custom limitations from time to time to prevent things from being stagnant, but no, they want to be as faithful as possible to the historical format they are trying to replicate, but after the strategies have become standarized and decks got optimized, the current competitive enviroment is a whole different world from what it was at the time.

It makes historical wargames truly egregious because literally nothing has changed. I was going over Haoran's build and felt like Haoran's hidden technique doesn't really do much for the cost. My idea to beef this up is thus A gift to Haoran from her late mother, The Metal-Devouring Web Arts are outwardly an low earth-grade cultivation technique but through careful cultivation and experimentation the cultivator can weave the metal-devouring web arts through their life essence giving each subsequent thread a measure of "life". This would allow a high level practitioner the ability to make intelligent thread constructs and more complex creations. I don't know how strong they would be. Maybe higher level treasures dictate how strong they are? It would in essence let a practitioner make an giga terracotta army given enough time. This might even be a part of the reason why the Xun are so lenient with Haoran, expecting to be able to capitalize this later. I would expect only elders and maybe her dad to know the extent of this power, Haoran would be ignorant but suspicious as her mother practiced the same technique and was able to do greater things with it than she can.

What do you guys think?
