Moloch's Fun Park Edition>What is Trench Crusade? An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.>What Trench Crusade is notTC not an excuse for you to discuss IRL religion, history that didn't occur in the game, culture war shit, or discord bullshit on /tg/. Keep it on topic.>What's the QRD on the background? The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.>How do I get started? All the files are free online:https://www.trenchcrusade.com/rules/Comment too long. About necromunda...is there anything close to one box army in a similar way to the one box team in BB or some kill teams? Or would I need several of the same box?
>>97229341if you have a bits box with a few weapons and you're ok with magnetizing or snapping of arms every few games to put in better weapons, a single box is all you need.

This is a highly niche question, but: what's the best TTRPG anthology you've ever read, and what made it good in your opinion?
>>97229406In the context of games, what is an anthology?
>>97229412Something like a collection of different games intentionally created/presented together (as opposed to e.g. incidentally packed together in a Bundle of Holding, or because they're all variants of the same game, etc.).
>>97229406You mean like 200wRPG Anthology? or like "Seven wonders RPG" anthology?
>>97229445I had something more like Seven Wonders in mind, but I guess something indie from completely different creators (e.g. from a game jam) would also definitely count.
>>97229438So why would someone just read them, as opposed to actually playing them?

>>97226602We mostly talked about mothership, which had enough hype to get enough people playing it a bit. The rest is a lot harder to get into beyond very basic dungeon outline or room content advice and even then mechanical distinctions in a lot of nsr is all over the place so the discussions get very vague and abstract. >>97228577It pretty much was a master stroke of marketing. The OSR was getting a bad name thanks to the BrOSR, and Shadowdark was an OSR game that would prefer being called OSR-adjacent made by a lesbian woman who somehow avoided putting in any colors at all, let alone rainbows. And, it promised the OSR-feel without the antiquated mechanics everyone hates. That's like promising cake that helps you lose weight.

>>97225739>Where in the 2ed rulebook does it describe the consequences of being on fire? It's not under psychology.Special rules for flame weapons in the armory book>In 2ed you can't fire through other models in the same unit, right? I couldn't find the exception.nope, no exception, although large targets can be sighted over smaller models. In practice it rarely matters because of the severe firing arc restrictions, and because sighting any model in an opposing squad is enough. You also wind up splitting fire a LOT more in 2e than you'd think. Losing split fire entirely was actually one of the bigger complaints when the edition change rolled out. Letting you fire through models in the same squad was partly a quick-fix for that. A whole bunch of the tweaks in 4e were trying to get around people using precise unit placement and range fuckery to "snipe" exactly the models they wanted out of an enemy unit, as well as prevent the defender from playing shell games with wounds to avoid losing specific models.

That seems like the most working example of maybe having a monstrous creature daemon in a unit of regular sized models.
