yeah, and it fit beastmen as a thematic feel wonderfully.

Doombull and minos are incredible in combat. They're just straight better ogres, at the cost of being higher cost. Minotaur champions can win against many character choices in challenges, but not lords unless the minos are on the charge. Doombulls are close to vampire lord tier combat, but don't get mounts so they lose a lot of utility. If you want a unit that is both the hammer and the anvil, minos do it. They are just so expensive, and they're pretty easy to tarpit. I'd also say they are a bit too susceptible to cavalry, but at least they can fight back if they get charged.

Which is what confuses me, we agreed it wasn't a real game, just us trying to understand how things work, since by default, the game sounds really, really tough.
>a starting character can get killed in one attack by a halberd
>any kind of attack can get lucky and oneshot the character

How do you justify a "pest race" like goblins or rat people in your setting? Why wouldn't the dominant species make a concentrated effort to eradicate them if they were a problem?

In my current setting, one of the main forces of magic is Rhymes. It's some kind of poetry/art/narrative magic. Users of Rhyme can make things happen by saying something, for example they can make someone somewhat immortal by remove stanzas related to their death. Fae are innately related to Rhyme magic, and specifically a subtype of fae are goblinoids, creatures that have naturally gimped fates. Some goblins don't die, they just fade, some goblins are never born. Some goblins appear only in the mornings. It is said that a whole mob of goblins usually accounts for a single total goblin.

So, while it's possible to exterminate goblins, it's not very practical to make much of a fuzz over it, as they can just spawn out of nowhere.

Dog breeding is/was a competition between the rich on who could own and curate the most interesting collection of dogs. It was mainly a war between eugenicists
If goblins were hyperadaptable to the point their features completely changed within 3 generations, goblin breeding would not only be a plausible pastime, but a useful knowledge, for creating goblins tailored to specific tasks. (Although like in real dog breeding, it would likely devolve into mass incest and pointlessly specific goblins that are shiny or have breasts that touch the floor)

If, for some reason, wealthy buyers sought only female goblins, it is inevitable that mutations that favor the female sex would occur, and possibly that the gender ratio would skew

Sex goblins actually make more sense then rock goblins or any other goblin subtypes
They should be made mainly of femboys and submissive females

Thanks. To keep more connections, I tried to keep it so Yecheng is formally still a part of the Xun, and thus the records of him are not erased, only of the clan from which he originated before he married into the Xun. So the kids might have a vague recollection of who he is and remember him from that time, but likely wouldn't know the details of what happened back then. Dependig on how sheltered they were, they might know that because of Haoran's father, her mother was executed and he was exiled. Except for the youngest ones, they might recall meeting Yecheng back then, but because of his punishment and rapid aging he suffered from it, he'd be hard to recognise even then.
As for the age of Yecheng himself, the last time I tried to gauge what's the realm the Patriarch would be at I remember it ended up in some big discussion without a conclusion, but going with the option that he's like Blood Condensing tier, Yecheng would have been at that too but earlier stage, so he's probably in his mid 100s (he'd have been around the younger side of the range for his realm back then, given the hidden cultivation and talent, but he dropped to the level of the rest of the cast and 15 years passed since with no progress, so he's far, far above the ranges in the pastebin for his current level).
Also, considering they have a 22/23 year old son, wouldn't 40 the lower sid eof the range for Fengqi and Yi?
Linghao was 7/8 back then, so he likely wouldn't have remembered Yecheng, but as to how much he'd know about what happened is mostly down to his curiosity and his parents. The crippling likely targeted the soul too so that Yecheng can't be simply healed, so that might damage might be visible under the soul sight. And no, no Xun blood unless we count metaphorical blood on his hands.
>>
>>97252153
Yes, Liang Ba wouldn't be someone that mattered back then, more of a witness. However, since I've mentioned that a formation was used against Yecheng, and Liang Ba uses formations, he might have taken a part in that. If he learns that Yecheng is still alive and targeting him, he might remember how powerful he was back then (only to get dissappointed/relieved to learn how far Yecheng has fallen). Given his Int 5, I'm tempted to say that Yecheng has eidetic memory, and might actually recognize a footman he saw that day.

Thank you!
Holidays have been very busy, so I've taken the last 2 weeks off, but I've been wanting to work on the "econ" campaign, and I'm right now thinking of turning it into a proper old school hex-crawl. Something that might be a bit closer to a roleplaying game or perhaps a solo game. Some rules to generate job opportunities depending where you are, how many game maps you have to get through to get to your objective, stuff like that.
Unrelated, but holy shit this capcha is dumb. Am I suffering from cognitive decline or is everyone else also not understanding the fuck is up with the pairs?

I have wanted to play RPGs for years and posted on /tg/ for like a decade, but have never found someone to play with. Finally my kids are old enough to play with me, but the problem is, I don't know HOW to play. Like, what is a game supposed to even look like?
All the rulebooks I've read go over in depth the character creation and mechanics, etc. but none really paint a picture of the structure and flow of the game and what it is supposed to look like.

Where do I start??

Here is where you go to present and develop the details of your worlds such as lore, factions, magic and ecosystems. You can also post maps for your settings, as well as any relevant art. >Anyone do disabled people on their settings?
Before you decide to do disabled people in a setting, you need to first ask yourself if that even makes fucking sense in the first place.

If magic or technology is progressed enough that people can heal or make up for any disabilities, don't. It makes no sense for people to be disabled in a setting where magic can heal grievous wounds or animated skeletons are running around or people are running around with grafted or robot limbs unless that magic/tech is cutting edge experimental and/or expensive as fuck (and if it is expensive as fuck there needs to be an in universe reason for that).

If your setting has that sort of shit that would commonly mitigate disability, then if anything you should be leaning into that shit for worldbuilding purposes. Don't try to shove disability into a world it doesn't belong.

Or stick to shit like dyslexia.

If your world is relatively mundane, then I guess it's fine to do disability, but historically treatment of the disabled varied wildly from execution, to abandonment, to exploitation, to care. Depending on time and place, the disabled were just as likely to be found on a sledge with their family as dead in the street.
