Venus you seem to have your childer desperate for affection, you've trained them well. -Kakophoni
>>97198640I mean, that's the basics. For a whole lotta people, the basics are everything they do, and they do okay at it; look at like most of Cammie middle management, Princes and such, and you'll see them center whole centuries of unlife around survival, acceptance, money, power and influence. You could settle for that.Or you could have some sort of bigger things in mind! I've no fucking clue what kind you're into, and I won't scry for it without asking, but there's as many grand reasons to persist for a thousand years as there are people, y'know? Wanting to find a way to cure some living thing you've ghouled of its affliction, to let it live forever without the need to be your slave, or wanting vengeance against somebody who's as immortal as you, or wanting to right some sort of really big wrong. My vamp-dad, who I don't think deserves a title as fancy as 'Sire', was into occult studies, before a bunch of werewolves tore him apart. Your new family seems to lean towards focusing on the Kindred 101 kinda things, which's fine enough. Frankly speaking, people tend to live longer if they don't get up to anything bigger. But if you do, and you really want it, best not forget about it, babes.>>97200590>You seem to be doing some sort of cartomancy.I got a special deck of Tarot, yeah. Has there been any official adaption/depiction of dragon riders in 5e, or really any edition at large? I know gith ride red dragons, but they dont come across as some symbiotic alliance like in Eragon.
I wrote a Monk subclass for 2024. Thoughts? Not entirely sure all these spells have been updated for 5.5 yet.Monk of the Empty WindLevel 3: Windborn Stride: Once per Turn you may jump up to 30 feet by expending 10 feet of movement. If you use Step of Wind you may instead jump up to 60 feet by expending 10 feet of movement.Level 3: Wind Control: You gain the Gust cantrip. As a Magic action you may spend 1 Focus Point to cast one of the following spells without Components. Gust of Wind, Warding Wind, Air Bubble.Level 6: Master of Winds: As a Magic action you may spend 1 Focus Point to perform one of the following.Wind Wave: A line of roaring wind 30 feet long and 5 feet wide emanates from you in a direction you choose. Each creature in the line must make a Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes Force damage equal to three rolls of your Martial Arts die on a on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.Wind Burst: A rush of gale force winds erupt in every direction from you. Each creature within 15 feet of you other than you must make a Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes Force damage equal to three rolls of your Martial Arts die on a on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.Level 11: Fleet As The West Wind: As a bonus action you may spend 1 Focus Point to double your Speed for the next 10 minutes.[cont]
>>97201225Level 17: Avatar of the Empty Wind: At the beginning of your turn you may spend 1 Focus Point to become an incarnation of the empty wind. gain the following benefits for the next 10 minutes.-You may fly at your Speed.-You have Advantage on all Dexterity Saving Throws.-All Ranged Weapon and Spell Attacks have Disadvantage against you.-You can use your action to create a 15-foot cube of swirling wind centered on a point you can see within 60 feet of you. Each creature in that area must make a Constitution saving throw. A creature takes damage equal to three rolls of your Martial Arts die on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. If a Large or smaller creature fails the save, that creature is also pushed up to 10 feet away from the center of the cube.
>>97201195There's the Drakewarden subclass, but that's kinda wimpy and you don't even really get to ride a dragon until around level 14, if I remember right.
>>97201225Caught some errors.>If you use Step of Wind you may instead jump up to 60 feet by expending 20* feet of movement.>Master of Winds: As a Magic action you may spend 2* Focus Point to perform one of the following.

>>97200342The existence of trannies is an existential threat to an orderly society, and so they must be opposed whenever and wherever they start to exist. Like the anon up thread, he shouldn't even be comfortable admitting he was diagnosed with dysphoria. Being comfortable enough to admit that is one short step from acknowledging dysphoria as anything other than a mental illness, and from there its a guarantee that people will validate the dysphoria and that leads to the tranny epidemic we have now.The ONLY way to suppress this degeneracy is to hammer down any actions or thoughts that might lead to trannyism before it ever starts. It must be stamped out immediately, and that's worth getting mad about.

I've been on a space kick recently and want to run a sci-fi space campaign as the GM. What are the best systems for a flexible gaming experience without the autistic complexity of something like Shadowrun? I'm looking for a system that can run "magic" (Psionics, occultists, dark gods, etc) and high-tech weaponry and ships and stuff as well as madness mechanics mutations, cybernetics, horror elements, etc. Visiting weird planets, dealing with intergalactic politics, smuggling goods, assassinations, dealing with alien cultures, learning dangerous magic and technology, etc. I also want the players help make the setting so I'd prefer a flexible system that can handle a multitude of scenarios with cool aliens and stuff. I've heard of Traveler, Starfinder, etc, I just wanna know what system(s) I should focus on learning about first. I'd rather not run it in a Star Wars DnD conversion or Feelings and Lasers. This crowd usually plays DnD or very simple games but are open to other games too. Again I've tried Shadowrun and I'd rather a system that isn't over-complicated and just has the hacking take up 90% of the screentime.
Scum&Villainy and Stars Without Number.I use both. S&V for the actual rules and SwN for setting creation (because the "original" S&V setting is too tropey, even though I use some of its factions or rescheme them.
>>97198206The Dai Dark setting do looks fun to run.>>97198491Fucking Shimada Death.
>>97199613>Traveller has sanity mechanics in the Companion, but they are bad, because sanity mechanics in general are bad.The Alien RPG has sanity mechanics which aren't bad. It's conveniently sci-fi, although it lacks weird powers. You can probably graft some from another Year Zero System game into it easily enough.
>>97201149Actually, I'll buy that, I haven't had a chance to play Alien yet but that does seem like a novel and interesting sanity mechanic. Most sanity mechanics are "number goes down, and you are punished for interacting with the scenario."
I enjoyed the FFG Starwars system and in continuation genesys. It has a ton of mechanics for everything sci-fi related you could possibly need since because it has great conversions for Dark Heresy covering insanity etc, rogue trader and the FFG self owned IP twilight imerium.

>>97198887not him but are there any interesting joined ops rules in it?
>>97200414There are no dedicated joint ops rules in it.The book has the lore section, the two teams, and a section dedicated to a campaign system. The latter can be used for a PvE campaign, but it's not really written for it.
>>97200984is the campaign system any good? or just again 5 missions in a mission tree and thats called a campaign?
>>97200993Much better than that, at any rate. Actually has me curious about running one at my local community, though I'm not sure it'd quite work that well for that. You basically have a hex map. Each campaign round (of which you play a number determined at the start of the campaign) you can first move, then you play a game, then you can do actions using a supply point system. Each hex is either above ground (open/volkus terrain), underground (gallowdark/tomb world terrain), and each one upon being explored can have one condition that affects the exploration part of the campaign and one that affects games played in that hex. There are also blocked hexes, which are self-explanatory.Pretty simple all in all. What I personally like about it is that it's not a race to a single goal; instead you play the set number of full rounds, then each player gets awards for stuff like most kills, most hexes explored, most supplies used etc. Makes it more narrative in a way that doesn't impact the gameplay.
>>97201115sounds nice. may be worth it taking a closer look then.

Besides Middle Earth, are there setting with a monotheistic God but has powerful deity like entities who may or not be worshiped?
The example setting that comes with Basic Fantasy RPG has the monotheist Bethite faith and a lot of druidic and natural religions that worship deities that might or might not be just local spirits .There are two competing Bethite sects with very different doctrines and theologies, and I find it pretty funny that clerics of both of them still get get power from their God equally.

Lest you lead others astray through your over simplifications, gnostics very much believed in a creator deity who created material existence only this demiurge was not supreme.
In the oldest biblical texts, Yahweh possesses attributes that were typically ascribed to deities of weather and war, fructifying the Land of Israel and leading a heavenly army against the enemies of the Israelites. The early Israelites likely engaged in polytheistic practices that were common across ancient Semitic religion, because the Israelite religion was a derivative of the Canaanite religion and included a variety of deities from it, including El, Asherah, and Baal. Initially a lesser deity among the Canaanite pantheon, Yahweh likely became conflated with El in later centuries, taking his place as the head of the pantheon in the Israelite religion. El's consort Asherah became associated with Yahweh, and El-linked epithets, such as El Sadday, came to be applied to him alone. Characteristics of other deities, such as Asherah and Baal, were also selectively absorbed in conceptions of Yahweh. As Israelite Yahwism eventually developed into Judaism and Samaritanism, and eventually transitioned from polytheism to monotheism, the existence of other deities was denied outright, and Yahweh was proclaimed the creator deity and the sole deity to be worthy of worship. During the Second Temple period, Jews began to substitute other Hebrew words, primarily adonay ('My Lords'), in place of the name Yahweh. By the time of the Jewish-Roman wars, namely following the Roman siege of Jerusalem and the concomitant destruction of the Second Temple in 70 CE, the original pronunciation of the name of the deity was forgotten entirely.

What makes a setting don't feel generic a.k.a. not DnD?
>>97197889the fuck are you going on about you sped?
>>97191173Unironically correct. The image of "cliche fantasy" where the main characters are all peak human ideal and generally beautiful and (comparatively) ethnically homogenous only existed for a few brief decades between the mid-1950s to the mid-1980s and can't even be thought of as the default anymore, since starting in the late 1980s fantasy portrayals shifted from idealizations to inclusivity and the characters became doughy and ugly to be more "realistic" or with cartoonish physiques like 40k/WoWshit. Fantasy settings being medieval NYC (replete with NYC people renaissance fair cosplaying) has been the default for basically 40 years now. Settings with realistically attainable beauty and non-left wing cultures, whether it's a perky set of tits or a greco-roman style city with a noble monarchy and minimal amounts of freakshit races mingling together are now the outliers and deconstructions in fantasy, whereas muh cosmopolitan multiverse melting pot of "normal" people is the tired generic fantasy cliche setting.
