>>97709291Like I dunno if it is that guy, but I suspect alot of the most annoying /tg/ posters are also the most annoying Reddit/Discord posters.
>>97709277Honestly, I don't see the point in EMPs at all in RED.For 500 eddies, the enemy throwing an EMP at you could buy 5 frag grenades. Taking 6d6 damage is more crippling than 2 pieces of cyberware being disabled (Unless your character has all their limbs replaced, and their eyes, etc) Even then the effectiveness goes down the more ware they have, yeah you hit their toxin binders and Nasal filters. Not really stopping them from shooting you, though. Same goes for the players, being able to deal 30d6 over five turns is way more useful than a single EMP.
>>97709450What the EMP disables can be extremely important and how many people you can hit with the same EMP.Surprise a bunch of Strommers with an EMP and you can gets some juicy hits; the Ref would be a huge asshole to actively choose only ware that is irrelevant for the combat (and, mind you, most NPCs don't have the pile of ware that PCs have padding out their lists, so a second EMP/microwaver/etc will increasingly climb the list. Also, Armor Piercing is fine if you're trying to kill someone; less good if you're trying to take them alive or unharmed.
>>97709450>being able to deal 30d6 over five turns is way more useful than a single EMP.When you put it like that...>>97709499>Second EMPI'd rather the players do 60d6 damage over 10 turns.
>>97650596How my table handled this is I mini-GM for our Netrunner. I basically get a heads up if our GM needs an architecture. Gen it fast a day before and when it comes to initiative order I'll pull the Netrunner's player aside on their turn to speedfire through all their actions while everyone else is taking their turn and I take mine quickly if needed.Saves our GM from having to also learn netrunning and keeps the pace, also helps the netrunner knows the fucking rules.
Legitimate question: Do the few male Howling Banshees there are get a flat chest armour plate or do they just get the standard breasted plate and wear it though it's hollow? I think the latter would be cool to keep the outward image of a bunch of vicious female super soldiers killing people. Because if a dude joins them to begin with it's because he exhibits the finesse and precision they want, so the guy would already be acting kinda feminine, no?I don't know where I could look into to get an official answer to this inquiry
>>97708932>If you had the chance to create an Eldar video game, what would it be like?Doesn't matter. It will be very much the same game as Guardsmen game, a very short one.

>>97709881Because they spent 260 years as bureaucrats hyping their Sengoku-era deeds.
>>97709827I'm a big fan of using the Dual-Weapon Warrior archetype on bombers. It grants you access to Double Slice (which allows you to make two Strikes with two melee weapons held in different hands, both at your full attack bonus), then Dual-Weapon Thrower, which lets you do the same thing with two thrown weapons. This relies on the Double Brew class feature that alchemists get at level 9, so it's something you'd build towards, but once you've got the requisite feats your combat rotation becomes:>Double Brew to creature two bombs.>Double Slice to throw one bomb at your full bonus, then the second with a -2 penalty (since it's not Agile) rather than the -5 you'd normally take. You're effectively spending your remaining action each round to enable Double Slice and make your second Strike +3 more accurate than it would otherwise be. It's the best thing I've found to spend that action on as an alchemist. Also: I'd absolutely recommend Demolitionist for bomber alchemists in a Free Archetype game. Bombers require a ton of feats just to remain basically functional in combat, making them desperately feat-starved. The fact that Demolitionist contains not one but two of those must-take feats (Expanded Splash and Directional Bombs) means that you can offload those two to your Free Archetype feat slots and free up some space for more alchemist feats. The downside is that you get them later than you otherwise would, but I think it's worth it. It might be too late for him to do this, but putting off those feats until you can get them via Demolitionist at levels 8/10/12 is probably the best value you're going to get out of your FA slots. You could also go Demolitionist earlier, but that locks you into taking some of the other, less useful Demolitionist feats due to the Dedication rules. There's nothing you really need in the archetype any earlier than Directional Bombs at level 8.
Hey so been wanting to play in a Romance of the Three Kingdoms inspired game that I could use to run such a setting, starting from Yellow Turbans and going through it. But haven't found any ttrpgs for the setting, any suggestions on games I could use for this? Also Please no gurps or fate recommendations as my group just don't mesh with those systems.
>>97709791Why not Legend of the Five Rings? If you're looking for something more historical you'll struggle a bit.
>>97709919desu my only worry with L5R is that besdies being super engrained into the way of the samurai is how heavy it leans into the mystical for magical powers and stuff which I guess isn't out of the norm for ROTK but yeah. Was hoping for semi historical.
>>97709945GURPS might be best for that.
>>97709948my group has tried to use gurps in the past and it straight up did not mesh with us at all. it felt too disjointed and with a trillion rulebooks but none of it ever goes more than skin deep. I also asked for anything other than Gurps or Fate.

Friday night is the best time for run a TTRPG. Your family and non-gamer friends expect you to be available on Saturdays. On Sunday-Thursday everyone is dreading work the next day. Furthermore, Friday games also filter out Magic players which is a win.

Should female bards be art hoes?
Is this what they call a puckee thread? Also bard shouldn't be a class.
>>97709884Hasn't it been a standard class since 1st Edition?
>>97709884You think it's bad in DnD? Consider that The Witcher has bards, both the Polish and the American one. And they just sing songs, no magical powers or anything.
>>97709892Prestige class, actually.
>>97709947That's basically the "bard" in the recent D&D movie, he has a lute and sometimes hits people with it.
Can a martial based character be the BBEG?
I accept your concession :^)
>>97699742>Okay then they aren't BBEGs.That other anon is kind of missing the point with his real world comparison. Nobunaga could be considered a real world BBEG but he probably wasn't that more skilled than the average soldier when it comes to fighting. For a purely Marital BBEG to work you'd need a ton of support for him. People that protect him and genuinely believe in his cause. His kingdom would need to be designed to prevent scry-and-fry tactics, he'd probably have casters putting up dozens of contingency spells, and would be loaded with magic items of all kinds. Honestly a BBEG Martial should be a threat in the same way old DnD Martials were, it wasn't their personal fighting ability though that was very good but the people that followed them.Sadly with the way that DnD is setup there's just no way to have the Martial BBEG be a credible threat on his own. Even if you gave him the Sword of Perfect Anti-magic he's always 1 round away from being just a guy if someone manages to take it.
>>97705171>Sadly with the way that DnD is setup there's just no way to have the Martial BBEG be a credible threat on his own.Exactly. In fact, with the way magic works in D&D, it's hard to take a campaign in it seriously at all. The magic is more ridiculous than in Harry Potter.

>>97709342Sadly i dont own one. I undercoated black spray and then heavy dry brushed caliban green, then a lighter green then warpstone green. Then with brush painted the plaster a cream color. Plan is to next dry brush the cream ushabti bone, go over all the cracks with a wash and then fix all the spillover ontl the green and give a final gaussblaster green highlight for the edges on the green walls. The orbs i will redo and work up to a flashgitz yellow instead of a green just to make it abit varied. Also paint some of the bits a gold or canoptek metal color. Without airbrush its taking forever!

What's the point of social skills? Evil people can't be reasoned with, and good people don't need to be. And even more than that, GMs never let you resolve a situation just by talking it out because that's anticlimactic. And, you know, if you want to say something, you can just fucking say it. Social skills objectively just don't do anything. So why the fuck do game designers keep adding these shitty trap options to their games?
>>97628802For people who can't roleplay. They just make a dice roll to see if they can successfully interact with another being. Also so people can bitch about a system not promoting roleplay by expecting people to actually roleplay instead of rolling a dice
>>97640253You must be evil as hell, because you are not being reasonable at all.
>>97643866you'd be surprised though, Sometimes people can just walk in if they look confident enough and they have the right name.if they say they're mercs trying to sign up for the cause then they'd likely get in and then be able to filter into the processing area. if they get lost and it's not too suspicious they could play it off. once or twice.i got into an evil lair pretending to be the musicians hired by the cult for a ritual. did help that my bard was an illusionist with enough circus training and instruments that he made it look real.

>>97709060NTA but its very strange. If the beastmen try to head to head fight they lose super hard. Orcs are basically same stat line but have armor. They also have heavier unit in general. But beastmen absolutely annihilate them in speed, maneuverability, and tactical options. And beastmen monsters are really fucking good. It's a toss up based on charging. But I give it slightly over to beastmen due to their magic being more useful and option, their ranged being way stronger, and ambush is amazing. Orcs have way way more staying power, and will almost always grind out against any army.

>>97709346Yeah, if you want to say your race is superior you just find ways to do it, contrived or not.Like IIRC the victorians on an hand did say that human hairlessness was a sure sign of superiority from apes and primitives were (supposedly) way hairier than us... but the europeans's beards were a sign of nobility, because it's like lion's manes.
>>97709346Depends on what Elvin believes were and their version of the creation of the setting. It could just as easily be seen as humans being the “superior” OG and elves are some later knockoff creation (which might be how Elves originally saw themselves, them being the “true” children of the world and the younger races as a pale imitation)
>>97709463The Victorians were weird in a ton of ways and a constant source of inspiration for world building.

Welcome to the Old School Renaissance General, the thread dedicated to first-decade, Gygaxian D&D, its faithful modern clones, and content created for use with them. Later editions (2e and newer) should be discussed elsewhere.Broadly, OSR games encourage a tonal and mechanical fidelity to Dungeons & Dragons played as intended by its creators from 1974 to 1983 — less emphasis on linear adventures and overarching metaplots and a greater emphasis on player agency. If you are new to the OSR, welcome!
