Then they should make a containment game for primarch slop and take primaris with them, leave 40k and 30k alone. Everyone knows the primarchs were exaggerated legends before Horus Rising came out and made the retarded decision to take those legends literally in the stupidest ways possible.

Real, lore accurate Gulliman is standard chapter master strength, and kind of sucks at direct combat and tactics, being a logistics nerd and a scheming rebellious politician in the model of Julius Caesar. If he returned from his stasis pod in the modern setting he'd have tried to declare himself the new emperor immediately and caused a second imperial civil war at the worst possible moment.

Prostitution is the oldest profession. It has always existed and it will always exist. The presence of prostitutes and brothels is crucial for making a game setting and world feel realistic and lived in. Otherwise, it will lack all verisimilitude. So, tell us, how have you incorporated prostitution into your game?

Prostitutes are a good source of information and mental health. It is known that a significant of men who go to them don't even want sex. They just want to talk about their problems and they have to do the job of therapists.
>>
>>97815372
A meaningless distinction. It's skilled labor like any other. Building rapport, curating a list of reliable and trustworthy regular clients, negotiating sales, and putting on a good performance.

I saw a documentary once about male prostitutes who take female clients. It was fucking sad. Most of their clients were also prostitutes.

Player characters are also well poised to offer that kind of service for supplementary income.
>PCs are often race unusual for the region, that factor alone makes them in demand even with average looks
>PCs are usually powerful enough to deal with troublesome clients all by themselves.
>PCs usually don't linger in one place long enough to draw ire from people running local business on whose income their might trespass
>PCs should be already well equpipped to deal with minor injuries, disease, or any such negative consequence sustained in the process.
And general thrill-seeking nature of adventuring has implicit overlap with thrill-seeking nature of sleeping around. Might as well get paid for it.

FFG/Asmodee/EDGE still has the license, they did a reprint of all the books with the EDGE logo and they're still reprinting stuff (you can tell because books will be insanely expensive and only available 3rd party and then suddenly they'll be normally priced.)

I think it's more that EDGE is a zombie company with a ghost staff, and they would actually have to hire people to write new stuff, and why do that when they can just rerelease the old shit? I think more people are interested in the original trilogy/immediately after, and those game lines are essentially complete.

>If only we were so lucky
Of course they want to keep the IP running, but I'm not holding my breath for upcoming Mando movie
The Starfighter movie next year is basically a clean sheet, which may be a good idea but OTOH it's again linked to the shitty sequels.

They hired too many idiots, they actively insulted their core fandom for years, they outright refuse to do teh smart thing and use their existing treasure trove of stories and characters. . .
>>
>>97814166
"Star Wars Fatigue", according to Disney's damage control brigade, famous also for calling fans entitled, saying their fan theories suck, and calling them bigots for any criticism against their shitty writing.
>>
To add to all the anons correctly assessing the FFG situation I want to add:
It's basically a completed system. There is tons of material for enemies, talents, vehicles, gear, resolution mechanics etc. and you are hard pressed to add something new in a meaningful way.
Playing as jedi, thief, senator, pilot and whatnot is all covered.
It is so good that the genesys homebrews are more often than not just starwars mechanics with the serial numbers filed off.

Unless you need an official source telling you that the stat block for Kylo Ren or Glibb Shitto is precicely this and that, I don't see why anyone would need much more for material unless you absolutely have to consume.
It's not like the movies introduced particularly new concepts. Vehicles remained the same across the board but with a different paint job .
>>
>>97816940
It's just weird how decades ago anyone could pay royalties to Lucasfilm/LucasArts and a Star Wars TTRPG would be guaranteed money to the point where the royalties would be effectively meaningless.
A healthy IP capitalizes on its opportunities, and big name TTRPGs have never been conscientious where actual game design is concerned; they just want to put that big name out with a fresh coat of paint.
Just look at how many reskins of Monopoly there are, for fuck sake, and that hasn't added anything new in a meaningful way since it's inception almost a century ago.

Jolly good time

>Cyberpunk 2020 vs. Cyberpunk RED?
Cyberpunk 2020 is the second edition of the Cyberpunk TTRPG by R. Talsorian Games, set in a (then) future inspired by film noir and the dark science fiction films and books of the late 20th century. It focuses on simulationist gameplay and lethal near-future combat.

Cyberpunk RED is the latest edition of the Cyberpunk TTRPG, set after the devastating Fourth Corporate War. It focuses on more balanced, streamlined gameplay and is currently supported by R. Talsorian Games.

Never say never. You just can't see them because they're inside screwing each others' brains out with stated consent and with pre-sex contracts filled and sign in triplicate. Some writer will get a hold of this art and go "This is capital of the gay resistance." You need to open your mind to exactly how much they can fuck it up.

NC2045 is shaping up to be a great sourcebook, which is a good thing since I've had high expectations for it from the jump (the 2020 sourcebook is god-tier). I hope it sticks the landing, since I'll be deferring to it for most NC-related matters, if not all.

Any suggestions for systems built for urban fantasy settings? I know there's World of Darkness but I'm looking for something that is more combat focused and less story telling. Monster of the Week has been suggested to me but I'm just not a big fan of PBTA, the systems just don't feel like a game to me as bullshit as that sounds.

Hate to say it, but pic related is probably your best bet if you want something that is combat focused. It's just a shame that it's by Tom Lancer.
>>
>>97815373
MotW is alright if you want to run something looser, but combat is rule of cool and lots of handwaving. You could do an alright Hellboy-style campaign with it, but you only get back what you put into a pbta system, meaning if you aren't feeling it, you won't have a good time.

Unknown Armies is more about fucked up magic and Delta Green is more about being off-the-books agents killing Lovecraft monsters.

It's actually pretty hard to find some urban fantasy games that aren't also pbta though. You might have to grab a generic system like Basic Roleplay (same system used by CoC and Delta Green) and fashion something to your liking.

I found the writing to be lackluster. It reads like a Disney Channel original series with simpleton characters and villains too comically villainous to be taken very seriously. I like dragons, but I wasn't willing to go past the first book. Things may improve after that, but I don't feel like I'm missing out.

Prussian Drip Edition

>What is Trench Crusade?
An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, and it's very Blanchitsu.

>What's the QRD on the background?
The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.

>How do I get started?

>They havent even got Italy and Russia in the game yet and people are asking for Americans lol.

There's an annoying trend of american historical enthusiasts to think that, outside of whoever they're fighting, nothing in europe is relevant on a military level.

WW1? Fought and won entirely by the Americans.
WW2? Also entirely Americans. Sure the Russians were there, but lend lease so it was really us doing all that.
Forget the fact that they only turned up halfway through either war, past all the difficult uncertain bits at the start, and never saw bombs fall on their own soil. Americans are totally the ONLY relevant people to the world wars.

It's an annoying bit of ameri-centrist retardation, but it's a thing, and you can see it in TC.
Because TC is meant to be WW1-esque in time period and culture, and god damnit to them that means there should be americans!
>>
>>97815813
I mean I get it, people like to see themselves in settings that include other real countries, America is the second largest media consumer on the planet, I understand why they would want to play as themselves in the setting where everyone else can play themselves if they wanted to.

Americas/New World could be a new campaign/Frontline for future, but if its done right it wont be doughboys. Think how vikings described "vinland" and how it was a horrific place with wierd animals and people, its not going to be a modern military with knights and aircraft carriers, itll be frontiersmen vs wendigos etc. I can easily see that being an expansion with rules associated with it.
>pick faction from base game

Actually they could not becsuse they're already stretching their manufacturing and supply chain extremely thin and have current products out of stock for multiple consecutive months. If they reduced prices they'd have an increase in demand that they couldn't capitalize on and would just lose money. As a publicly traded company they'd find their CEO getting replaced very quickly.

Once you leave the Shithammer scam sphere it's really not that bad. You can make a 100 figure army with Oathmark figures for a little over 100 USD. Smaller battle games like Pillage or Frostgrave also allow you to spend even less. There's also the big Barons War starter box that you can split with your bro for a measly $65 per person.
