The context changed, because among other things, suddenly the presence of a crusade fleet to report back to is no longer a guarantee, and your willful blindness to that fact does you no credit.
Modern warrants grant explicit permission to trade with xenos. 30k warrants are more desirable because their conditions are generally far more permissive, and you can reasonably assume their wording is more along the lines of "May trade freely with any such polities as seen fit".
You're making a false association, because you don't have wording for any 30k warrants that includes the word 'xeno', because you don't have any wording for 30k warrants at all. Your 'implication' is baseless horseshit and you know it.
>>
>>97351717
>asserts baseless horseshit
>accuses others of baseless horseshit
This general only has a few IQ points above the the 40k general.

I had two show up in my DW campaign. A Deceiver shard disguised as Trazyn the Infinite lured the kill-team and an Imperial task force to a rival dynasty's tomb world under the pretense that they could find valuable pylon components to send to Cadia. In truth, the Imperial force was a distraction to draw away the Necron occupants and the Eldar keeping the world quarantined, while the Deceiver got to work on unshackling the Nightbringer shard buried within.
>>
>>97351910
Oh, look, an utter lack of defense for your prior statements. That couldn't possibly be because you're just trying to get a rise out of folks - it's not as if you've been abandoning your position in favor of an at best tangentially related one every single post, or anything silly like that.
>>97349937
>The Funny
This is some serious goofball shit, which could work great in a goofball group - basically, know your audience. Personally I could see it as a fun one-shot or very short arc, perhaps even as a very occasional recurring NPC. I think it'd wear on me if it was the whole campaign, though. You don't want the joke to get stale. Again, highly audience-dependent.
>The Villains
Classic, there's a lot of ways this could go. Road to hell like anon mentioned, where they can act to the highest moral standard they like - but, if they do things the easy way (just this once, we swear!) they gain power, or persuasion, or evasion, or some tangible benefit that just barely pushes them over the edge to success - but it's always at a cost. Hand out tiny little faustian bargains like candy. If they don't take them, what's the harm? The offer's there. The offer is ALWAYS there.
For every boon they accept, maybe they take -5 to Willpower saves against one specific daemon (a surprise tool to help us later), or maybe one of their subfaction slips just a tiny bit further away from the so-named positive aspects of their god. You've got a lump of grease in that skull of yours, I'm sure you can figure out something more narratively compelling than I.
>>
Are there any deep, dark, secret communities out there that play Black Crusade? I've always wanted to play a cackling villain, but I never see any campaigns anywhere.

It's crazy to me to think that in a hobby where the only barrier to using old content is... nothing... so many people justbhave accepted the idea that they have to use the latest edition. These are books bro, absolutely nothing forces you to use the new ones as long as you can access old pdfs. It's like with DnD, I just never moved on from 3.5e. I occasionally play older editions but why would I ever use the newer ones? I just don't need it. It's not the same style of game so I just don't play it and I never will. That wotc releases content for it means nothing to me. Might as well be a brand of barbie dolls or expensive watches for all I pay attention to it.

It all comes down to the mentality of old=bad, and this applies to pretty much anything in life.
>A 90s second hand car? Nah, I prefer to spend fifty dollarydoos on the latest unreliable EV slopmobile because it's big and modern!
Normie shit, really. Problem is when someone actually wants to play an older edition but the only people around him who play 40K are of that mentality. Even if you convince them to play they'll start bitching about muh balance, stratagems, abilities for every single unit, wargear being too hard on their deep-fried brains, not being able to play their named characters every single game, etc..

Then why not just have magic follow its own measurable and observable laws? The scientific method would be perfectly applicable to such a scenario without needing an elaborate backstory about how magic is artificial.

Never. The foundation of the genre is on dying Earth post apocalyptic sci-fantasy.

Welcome to the Old School Renaissance General, the thread dedicated to first-decade D&D, its faithful modern clones, and content created for use with them. Later editions (2e and newer) should be discussed elsewhere.

Broadly, OSR games encourage a tonal and mechanical fidelity to Dungeons & Dragons played as intended by its creators from 1974 to 1983 — less emphasis on linear adventures and overarching metaplots and a greater emphasis on player agency.

If you are new to the OSR, welcome! Ask us whatever you're curious about: we'll be happy to help you get started. We also have two excellent beginner guides created by Anons with feedback from the thread that you can check for help:

Canonically Jabba has a presence there because Gardulla (the female Hutt you can see behind Jabba in TPM) created the Boonta Eve on Tatooine using Damask's money in order to slowly try and gain power from under Jabba's influence, but he took over it which is why we see him presenting in TPM. Presumably the Boonta Eve is more popular than the Malastare championships
It's all in the Plagueis book
As for the hyperspace thing, it's in a spur of the Triellus Trade Route which is the biggest trading route in the Outer Rim, but the main popular part does not go through Tatooine

Well that, and I thought I remember reading somewhere that Jabba also wasn’t exactly “welcome” in polite Hutt society… I think he had a reputation for being more lecherous and deviant than was considered socially acceptable within Hutt society.

No, combat in modern DnD is an unfun tedious slog with zero tension or meaningful tactical choice (unless you're a caster). I'd go as far as to say combat is the worst part of the game because the roleplaying stops for an hour to get through a solved mini-game that other systems can do in a fourth of the time.
