Hard disagree. Selendis is a nobody, yes, but Vora gets a ton of character and even more if you read the novels/comics/short stories Blizzard released.

Personally, I'd like to see Terran Stukov, he was my favourite growing up.

On a different note, here are possible characters:

Terran:
DuGalle (unlikely, I feel, as he never had a land unit, but there's Mengsk)
Duke (Sige Tank version, or maybe Marine, I doubt BC)
Duran (Ghost)
Kerrigan (Ghost)
A. Mengsk (won't be a BC, I wonder what he'll be)
Stukov (Ghost)
Raynor (Vulture)
Tychus (Marine)
Mira Han (Vulture maybe?)

DESU i would not go with either, Vet breachers are already REALLY expensive. if you are going a full 10 man, power fist on SGT, and 4 cutters, thats a lot of points, that 75 points in those 5 weapons alone. I would just give them either chain axes or chain swords and use them as ablative wounds for the las cutters to 1 shot things.

Do you have the other staples in that list like Lightning Storm, Triple Tactics Talent, Triple Tactics Thrust, and Forbidden Droplet? Something like Droplet for example would win this duel on it's own if you opened it.

So here's the thing, the deck you're going up against isn't a meta tiered deck, there's tons of these kinds of wombo combo decks like this but they die to so many staple cards. I know it sucks to hear because of how UR inflated things are in MD, but if you had that 1 Maxx C, 3 Fuwalos, and 3 Purulia in your deck that Syncho bullshit deck literally would not be able to do anything if you drew those cards

In general in Yugioh as you climb the ranks you see more midrange and control strategies. One of the absolute best decks right now is Dracotail and it's like, one of the most mid range decks that has ever existed in YGO

This is also why limiting special summons doesnt really work as a solution, because there's a lot of really good decks that don't special summon much at all (Dracotail usually only does like 3) but all that is besides the point

In reality decks like the one you faced aren't really that common, you see them at the low ranks because they're a deck an anime protagonist used (for whatever reason like all the anime protags used giga cancer combo decks)
And sometimes you'll run into them and not open the right cards and that's that, but I can assure you if your deck was fully pimped out with all those UR cards in that M1 deck that duel would have been a lot more playable

The most important thing right now I would say is for you to prioritize getting Maxx C, and 3 copies of Fuwalos. Those cards are designed to help stop giga combo decks like the one you faced. If you want to keep playing Ancient Gear then Forbidden Droplet is also super important but there are also slower decks you can play if you'd like
Try to get these bundle deals if you can, they're great for new players to get staple cards

also if you want to play some slower decks I can give you suggestions if you'd want. Sky Striker for example is a control deck and one of the decks in the Legendary Modern set you purchased, so if you wanted to play something slower while also learning about the deck you purchased, that could be a good option.
>>
>>97829897
i didnt see these, thanks for bringing them to my attention; i'll get them now
>>
>>97829391
There's varying degrees of how combo oriented things are. The type of combo you are dealing with in the image you posted tends to end up more common in the lower ranks, as a bit of a quirk of the game.
These decks are often "All or Nothing" where they either go off fully or can't go off at all. Handtraps kill them, but going second board wipes can have difficulty. Though if you do Crack their board, they often expended too much to rebuild a board.
At higher ranks, you see this less often as while some can get very strong when uninterrupted, you can also break them more as they lean towards consistent rebuilding over X number of omni-negates.
You can still get stuck with bad games, but the >>97829402 Ancient Gear list gets better there as it is more tuned to these higher levels.

Gearhead thread but for /tg/

Part of why I like to play ttrpg's is the analog aspect. I prefer to keep all digital things out of the experience. No laptops, ipads, phones at the table. Well, an exception can be made for googling something quick, but other than that, keep that shit in your pocket.

I like to do my gm prep, world building, drawing maps, in notebooks. npc and character sheets etc.on paper.

I really like MUJI stationery. Their notebooks are really nice, and their pens and pencils are amazing.

I recently found some hex paper notebooks on amazon. That was really nice to use to draw some hex maps.

Do you have any neat stationery or other analog "gear" that you really like? Could you share some of your cool items or showcase your note taking system or maps or whatever?

You can make money off it, at least from people like me. Or just some really beatuiful maps. I started because I had the cloth map from Revised Campaign Setting for Dark Sun and really love putting that thing on a table. But I wanted a city map to match and came across the etsy dude who makes these.
>>
>>97809050
Utterly based thread. Good job, OP.
If you want hex paper for maps try to get stock where the lines aren't black but grey.
>>
Anyone ever done a character sheet that really is a notebook? Like putting all the info that would be on the sheet into the notebook. And to use the notebook sort of as a journal of sorts as well?

I think it could be cool as hell.
>>
>>97829724
I've ran a mini-campaign (8 sessions) once where I made like that for my players, it was half investigation, half political intrigue focused. Each player got a small notebook of sorts (around 10 pages) with their faction logo/colours on the cover, a character sheet and city map on the first pages and then the rest reserved for notes.
>>
>>97829724
this is how i usually play. just note the character sheet info in a notebook and then proceed with notes and stuff splitting things between sessions.
It makes it easier for me since i dont have to find somewhere to print them.
I do this with fairly lightweight systems though

Prostitution is the oldest profession. It has always existed and it will always exist. The presence of prostitutes and brothels is crucial for making a game setting and world feel realistic and lived in. Otherwise, it will lack all verisimilitude. So, tell us, how have you incorporated prostitution into your game?

Within this framework, Bruce Lee's struggle against the Guandao-wielding demon in picrelated movie makes a lot more sense. What if, once you reach a certain level of martial mastery, you have to be very careful not to turn into fucking Lo Pan because of your ambition, and find ways to stay grounded and refute the otherworldly truths that you accidentally exposed yourself to? How do you cope with the fact that you will somewhat have to limit your potential in order not lose your humanity, and find a way work around your human limitations with nothing but strategy and technique to deal with the masters that choose a different, ghastly path and seek to either corrupt or murder you? Can your Kung Fu be good enough to survive duels against adversaries that went beyond human limits?

Now, in my headcanon, Beggar So became a degenerate gambler and a drunkard for real as a way to cope with the fact he had to duel eldritch-powered martial arts masters out to get him with nothing but his bare hands for his entire life.
