True metallic metal - a reflective additive is added to the paint to make it look metallic, usually mica flakes or powdered aluminum.

Non metallic metal - no reflective additive added, the metallic effect is from use of contrast and color to give the illusion of metal.

Mix them up in the unit, maybe do some with the darker green base coat and add in yellow for brighter highlights. Orks are fun like that.
>>
>>97829415
With oil paints you should have two rinse cups. One that you use for rinsing between colors and one (with less spirits in it) that you use as a final rinse when you're done with the brush. Ideally you should get maybe a little tinting in the second cup instead of making the spirits look cloudy. When switching between similar colors (dark transparents to dark transparents for example) I really don't even rinse much, just wipe the brush on some paper towels a few times until most of the color comes off then go into the next one.

Well, you're not going to win Golden Daemon with that, but it's a nice, rich red with a decent amount of shading to it. Hardly awful. Get some black into the joints and recesses to make it pop, maybe a tough more highlights on the edges, and you should have something pretty neat on your hands.

>Roll for the Galaxy. You're still building an engine but there's so much going on that the illusion holds up better
Roll and Race both end too early and unexpectedly. They are some of my favorite games but they have the "never really get to run your engine" problem where just as it comes on line the end condition is also present. That said the reason Roll is better/good is that there are a handful of ways you can chase an engine and the starting conditions really give you a base. Explore done properly is designed to let you tailor your empire whether it be yellow planets or military, it's all viable and makes each game feel different and interesting. And not that the end condition isn't necessary, usually another turn would be a huge VP swing we just always feel kind of blue balled when it's over.

Splendor is just oh you got 15 because you drafted the brown gem, wow.
>>
>>97830142
The people who hate splendor completely ignore hate drafting and the very essence of duels/battle royales
>>
>>97828641
I didn't like RDR (too long, not really COIN like imo) but I played Shadow Moon a couple times and enjoyed it a lot. There's a lot of tough choices around putting out disks, where, and taking them back plus all of the gumming up the works with card manipulation. The art is really nice too. Worth a buy if you have a group of 3 that aren't pussies.

If they would have made RDR with this art style, included a short and medium scenario, and made CORP and RECLAIMER less combat focused (ie like Syndicate in CL) it could have been the best COIN ever made.
>>
>>97830142
Roll for the Galaxy expansions modify this. The alien orb expansion gives 15 points per player or 15 tiles as the end condition. There has to be a balance but a group could also house rule and say that they want to see what 16 turns feels like this game. You know that could be interesting. Maybe even have two or three scoring rounds and add them up? I had this discussion a lot about It's A Wonderful World. That game is tight and leaves most people feeling like they need one more turn. I do agree that there needs to be a balance but for myself personally I like feeling the pressure of knowing I can't waste one turn. I feel like I'm generally expecting the end conditions of most games I play but I realize that not everybody is tuned into that while they are focusing on playing. I will also say that I felt like I enjoyed Roll for the Galaxy a little more when it was shorter without the expansions. The expansions are cool but some games can drag now.

Since there's someone here to explain meta rules and drama, what the fuck is up with this fishfag guy? And the entire brigade of people who spend more time posting about what is and isn't OSR than actually talking about OSR? Especially in the thread that's less narrow than the actual OSR thread.
>>
>>97830343
/osrg/ outlawed all 2e as off topic, hence the rebirth of /todd/. Anyone who was against this is accused of being an ACKS fanboy who got laughed out of /3eg/ and is purportedly why 2e isn't allowed in /osrg/ anymore.
>>
>Announcing reports is a bannable offense tho
Yeah except that's not what he was doing retard-kun, he wasn't declaring his own report, but saying people should report you for your absolutely feral hog tier behaviour.
It's the difference between me saying I'm going to fuck your wife and high fiving you as I walk out the room after she had the only pleasant night since you married.
>>
>>97830343
They use that fishfag term as an excuse. Hell I have seen them call no less than 5 different posters fishfag.

Osrg just has a small group of weirdos who think for some strange reason 2e isn't OSR and have a holy crusade about it. They brigade every 2e thread.
>>
>>97830343
Real explanation coming through: Fishfag is a turbo-autist who's on a multi-year quest to topic slide /osrg/ to include 2e (which to be clear it never did), self-admittedly because he thinks it will "own chuds". He doesn't even play 2e and knows nothing about the rules. He got his moniker because he also hates the retroclone ACKS, and had a famous melty in /osrg/ over a story a different anon told about how he found ACKS' economics rules useful in a trading interaction involving fish. The reason he hates ACKS is, again, that he believes it to be a chud game, apparently on the basis that its creator, the guy who owns The Escapist, once refused to fire an employee even though a cancelled porn cameraman called that employee transphobic. I know, it's very weird.

There's an ongoing debate about whether Fishfag is a discordtranny feebly trying to get revenge on the OSR general for outing a different troon several years ago, or if he's just an incredibly autistic troll who's just doing it due to severe brain malfunction and is also responsible for all the anti-Night-Land-posting on /tg/.

Kineticist explodes when it finds anything with immunities, anything with high ac, anything with passable saves, or skill checks of any variety.

I want to shoot lightning from a long spear. Is Magus the class to go if I want to actually hit enemies with both spear and zzap?

Yeah but this applies to pretty much any caster or light armor class in the game

You know you supposed to use ALL your available options as a Kineticist. And if something has all of that at once, the problem is the monster, not you.

Magus is a bit more literal in terms of "hitting enemies with a spear and zzap". But yes, you go to that.

Speaking as an old fuck, a lot of young people don't realize that artists didn't always have websites even in the 90's. What probably happened was Angry Anon saw the 98 copywrite date, didn't clock that it was in Comic Sans and not hand drawn like the rest of the image, and just assumed that was when the image was drawn instead of when it got put on the internet.

I get the urge to be mad at them because it seems like they are trolling, but it's more likely they're still practically (or maybe even literally) a child.

The Ottoman Sultan did adopt "Kaiser i Rum" (Emperor of Rome) as one of his titles, but they didn't really emphasize it.
>>
>>97826079
I just let them install the tank into the ship and when they land we handwave refilling it as part of their fuel costs
>>
>>97828915
>Kaiser i Rum
Well yes, but Rum was already the name of
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sultanate_of_Rum
the name traces back to 'Roman', of course, through two or so other languages. These were the predecessors, who were shattered by the mongol conquest. They had quite good trade relations with the Europeans.
And yes, 'Kaiseri' is obviously 'Caesar', surprisingly close to german 'Kaiser'.

And they later referred to themselves as 'Osmanlı İmparatorluğu' literally 'Osman Empire' when tehy had achieved dominance over most of Araby, North Africa and Egypt.
The root there is also clearly 'Imperator'.
But this is still not really larping as Rome, or any continuation of Rome.

The one who did do that, even though it absoolutely was not a continuation, was Charlemagne.
He clearly read up on what history he could get a hold of, and used the image of a new 'Roman' Emperor.

The XP buy system for making fights was the best thing about the game, from the DM side.
It was easy as hell to put together varied enemies on the fly.

The fact that every enemy also had a specific role and tier made extremely fun and intuitive to make encounters.

speaking of things you wouldn't necessarily brag about
humans sweating making them uniquely suited long labor in hot environments would also not necessarily being something to brag about, hell you could even have allies be kinda disgusted with it especially if it turns out most aliens have far better sense of smell than us, but it would still makes humans pretty valuable when you need a bunch of engineers who can keep your poorly cooled engine going 'round the clock

Seriously, a lot of stuff like the whole endurance/persistence hunting meme has the exact same energy as the guy who wrote the Yasuke book, it's a lot of nonsense or outright falsehood pushed by a handful of people and then parroted because it sounds good.
>>
>>97830587
>>97830637
oh no I'm well aware that notably wolves and horses also sweat extensively, and as a result are exceedingly high endurance, and even that milk is in fact a modified form of sweat so we know being able to sweat it's ancestral to mammals

also I'm entirely aware of how much a meme persistence hunting was, our endurance was not a sole factor, but it did let us pursue wounded prey for extended periods to make the true gamebreaker of ranged weapons even more busted

that said full body perspiration is not common among non-mammalian vertebrates and even among modern mammals it's not a widely adopted strategy since extensive fur coverage does reduce how effective it can be
And it keeps bearing in mind that even though we're far removed from it for a lot of people, humans biologically remain savanna specialists and thus being able to cross long distances while keeping your temperature under control is still something we would be better at than aliens evolved under widely different conditions

speaking of unusual traits, there's a good chance aliens wouldn't have milk or equivalent to it, which in turn could be considered our "really weird" trait and without the specific context of nurturing and behavioral adaptations for it, us letting our babies feed from our bodies directly could easily be considered disgusting

The same thing that every American thinks when they say "I could care less" when they try and express that they couldn't care less about something. Which is that they don't think anything about the individual words they are saying, they're using what is an idiom to them because they've heard other people do the same thing a billion times, even though English is their first language and they could easily recognize the mistake if they thought about it for a moment. You can take this to mean niggas is retarded if you want, but really people just don't think very hard about the language they use.

The Half Celestial part should have an interesting effect on your thoughts, but one you should like. You know how people sometimes feel impulses to do bad things, but with the Good subtype (which I think you should have as a Half Celestial) you instead feel good impulses, and doing anything evil would be as unnatural and unpleasant as an arachnophobe looking at a collage of spider pictures.

>new Terra Hypnagogica chapter is out
>starts with Klaus finding out that Necrium can apparently subvert and infect machinery, subverting robots Mephitior once used called the Hammers
>Ingrid and the Obzan are exploring more vastoplanes, which they've since confirmed to be a type of "proto-plane"; still in their early formation due to the action of organic elements similar to the earliest days of Udraiken - the more primitive their state, the greater and purer the concentration of Fluxium present in them. Obzan further speculate on encountering a "proto-Fluxium", a primitive state of Fluxium with more pure and pristine qualities compared to Udraiken & Orepirrus
>the group gets confident enough to start exploring planes even beyond the vastoplanes
>their first excursion to one of these lands Ingrid in the middle of an endless dark wasteland, featuring only mountainous monoliths and nothing else - no Necrium or Fluxium present at all, not even miniscule amounts of Fluxium
>Ingrid suddenly gets jumped by something with an immense and overwhelming Necrium presence (based on its appearance, it's either an infected Hammer from Klaus's timeline or whatever was infecting them) and it hits her in the face with this
>Ingrid survives (barely) and manages to either destroy or drive it away after a minutes-long exchange
>chapter ends with Noelle & her companion confirming the weirder looks for some of the more peaceful creatures in Udraiken (and possibly the other Planes) is due to Necrium/Viralborgian influence

The biggest things I can take from this jumpwise are a technology-corruption perk for the Necrium background, MASSIVELY raising prices for the Traveler background, maybe a portal generation perk to traverse vastoplanes for piquol sorcerers and maybe a drawback based on going too far beyond the known planes/vastoplanes. Also Ingrid upscale but that's obvious.

I'm gonna use a perk sharing perk to share that perk from Powerwash Simulator that makes people autistic

If an update is in the cards, I would be grateful if you added the option to keep the devils chosen for Contractual Obligations as Followers post-jump. People bringing out random devils to basically use as a Stand is my favorite part of CSM combat, and I'm not really interested in the autocontract part of the perk, even if it is probably more exploitable. For similar reasons, if you have enough interest to change their items, I think a "subordinate concept" group Follower option for Devils would be really cool, similar to how War has Tank and Gun.

Anyone in this godforsaken board playing in groups where power creep is not a factor? For example one person giving preconstructed decks to all other players at the table, or playing with self-made jumpstart or Wizard's Tower decks etc.

Drafting, my dude. I love both booster and cube draft, but I get it's not everyone's cup of tea.
I made a gauntlet of pauper decks some years back, tried to get a spread of archetypes and roughly equal power level. I didn't get the play out of them that I hoped for, but that's due to moving to a tiny town. The couple of times I've played them have been a lot of fun.

That is basically what cubes are for.
One thing I did was basically repackage the some Jumpstart packs since those are pretty easy to slap together for quick kitchen table games.

got links for the pauper decks?

I have been experimenting with Wizard's Tower, and it's great in that you just sit down and start playing, minimal prep. The draft aspect is still there thorough the entirety of the game with the face-up cards. However this format has a flaw where 2 cards per turn floods your hand. On the other hand, if it's only 1 card per turn, things stall fast.

Battlebox seems kinda unfun and Jumpstart requires physical cleanup after game ends which is meh.
