As its popularity has exploded GW will be incentivized to tell more canon/official narratives, but at its tabletop roots it will always come down to being a vehicle for your, the player's, adventures, whether that's through the wargame, the various RPG's, fanfic and quests, or what have you.

oh no I'm well aware that notably wolves and horses also sweat extensively, and as a result are exceedingly high endurance, and even that milk is in fact a modified form of sweat so we know being able to sweat it's ancestral to mammals

also I'm entirely aware of how much a meme persistence hunting was, our endurance was not a sole factor, but it did let us pursue wounded prey for extended periods to make the true gamebreaker of ranged weapons even more busted

that said full body perspiration is not common among non-mammalian vertebrates and even among modern mammals it's not a widely adopted strategy since extensive fur coverage does reduce how effective it can be
And it keeps bearing in mind that even though we're far removed from it for a lot of people, humans biologically remain savanna specialists and thus being able to cross long distances while keeping your temperature under control is still something we would be better at than aliens evolved under widely different conditions

speaking of unusual traits, there's a good chance aliens wouldn't have milk or equivalent to it, which in turn could be considered our "really weird" trait and without the specific context of nurturing and behavioral adaptations for it, us letting our babies feed from our bodies directly could easily be considered disgusting

There's varying degrees of how combo oriented things are. The type of combo you are dealing with in the image you posted tends to end up more common in the lower ranks, as a bit of a quirk of the game.
These decks are often "All or Nothing" where they either go off fully or can't go off at all. Handtraps kill them, but going second board wipes can have difficulty. Though if you do Crack their board, they often expended too much to rebuild a board.
At higher ranks, you see this less often as while some can get very strong when uninterrupted, you can also break them more as they lean towards consistent rebuilding over X number of omni-negates.
You can still get stuck with bad games, but the >>97829402 Ancient Gear list gets better there as it is more tuned to these higher levels.

Lack of handtraps like you mentioned. It isn't mandatory to run them, but they are how you interact with your opponent when they go first. Only other way would be blowout going-second cards or kaijus/kaiju-likes (the Kaiju series, Lava Golem, Sphere Mode, etc).

People typically combine Control(Control) with Stun(Stax) in this game. Purest Control decks would probably be Radiant Typhoon or Sky Striker. You could also run Runick as a Control deck if you forego the floodgates(stun cards). It's a true-blue control deck that exiles your opponent's deck when their effects resolve, where your win condition is to deck out your opponent or make them ragequit.

Slightly less than what you were playing against? That's a Stardust/Synchron deck at a glance, and that deck is characterized by its obnoxious combos.

It would actually make the game nigh-unplayable. Even a lot of weaker and casual decks need to special summon-- including Ancient Gear. Best options to counter that as of now are cards like Nibiru (tributes the entire field after their 5th summon) or Maxx "C"/Fuwalos (draw cards when your opponent special summons). The latter two are more common since there isn't really a context where you want your opponent to draw cards... save maybe for the matchup you were in, where they CAN summon enough to force you into deckout.

Combo Decks are the devil. Decks that combo are not. Knowing is half the battle.

Like the Blooded might refer to "lesser" peoples as stock (as in livestock, you know, because they literally feed off them or use them for their utility). But people are generally more concerned with what the blooded do, not what they say. There are still stories from before the Apex was revived, when powerful blooded did whatever they pleased in their domain, including horrific fleshcrafting and unethical experimentation. So just being referred to with dehumanizing language is basically nothing.

Fera will refer to humans as hairless or baldies, since fera are covered in body hair. But it's generally seen as a childish insult with no real impact or venom behind it.
Lizardmen will occasionally call the other races apes, but again there is no bite behind it.

People got more serious shit to deal with then fantasy racism.

Hell, to the people in Centennial, comments about piss and shit are FAR more offensive to them.

The more I research, sociology, the more it seems like all puritan beliefs, sexism, radical ideas, racism, and wealth insecurity, and gilded attitudes, come from the upper middle classes.The "middle" is where the most intense social friction happens because that’s where people have the most to lose and the most to prove. Therefore, they must perform the most to pretend that they are rich, more moral, more upright, etc than the actual upper classes and lower classes. To keep this status, the middle class became the primary "moral police" of society. They created the "right" way to raise children, the "right" way to eat, and the "right" way to behave, often looking down on the lower classes for being "unrefined" and the upper classes for being "decadent."

Because the upper-middle class often manages the institutions of society (education, HR, media), they are the ones who codify what "good" looks like. If they can define morality in a way that requires expensive education or specific "refined" tastes, they effectively gatekeep the upper echelons of society from everyone else.
