Waifus aren't shitposting and pretty elf girls are not a derail in a thread labeled the Wholesome Elf Thread.

Noldorfag is just a salty little bitch.

The previous thread had people complaining about Deedlit and Lodoss discussion despite it literally being the first replay and the posters literally talking about the character's stats and and how the original campaign was played. Way better than spamming so no one else can post anything.

Nothing in 5e is as broken as the shit that went on in 3.5e. Not even coffeelock.
>>
>>97830392
Most of the really crazy bullshit were internet forum thought experiments though. No DM was ever going to allow Pun-Pun.
>>
>>97830464
The same goes for Coffeelock. Hell, completely-as-intended use of stuff like Silvery Barbs gets 5e DMs weighing the hammers.

>>
>>97831241
I always said I'd never ban non-infinite-combo shit as a DM but silvery barbs broke me. I played in a game where two players had it and as a result no monster ever got to fail a save ever. The only way to really deal with it was massed mooks rushing them in melee, cause when you're fighting 25 orcs forcing a couple rerolls a round isn't gonna help much.

Gearhead thread but for /tg/

Part of why I like to play ttrpg's is the analog aspect. I prefer to keep all digital things out of the experience. No laptops, ipads, phones at the table. Well, an exception can be made for googling something quick, but other than that, keep that shit in your pocket.

I like to do my gm prep, world building, drawing maps, in notebooks. npc and character sheets etc.on paper.

I really like MUJI stationery. Their notebooks are really nice, and their pens and pencils are amazing.

I recently found some hex paper notebooks on amazon. That was really nice to use to draw some hex maps.

Do you have any neat stationery or other analog "gear" that you really like? Could you share some of your cool items or showcase your note taking system or maps or whatever?

Fairy Tale is such a weird game. You hate draft to build a tableau and then flip your opponent's cards to attack their points. It kind of reminds me of six card Golf. I don't know what else to compare it to.
>>
>>97832942
Roll for the Galaxy is the one game in our collection that grew on us the most over the years. Two players only. Takes us less than twenty minutes to play without expansions. Takes longer to put it back in the box than it does to setup. The cups suck but yeah if you're rolling those tiny bugger dice by hand they're a bit small but then again some turns you're rolling like twelve or more dice. It depends on your engine. I wouldn't honestly recommend the game to anybody these days but it will never leave our table rotation. I can't think of any game that gives that us that many decisions to make in such a short session.

/TG/ DEVELOPED A GAME
IT IS PLAYABLE. IT HAS BEEN PLAYED.
EXPEDITION is a ~1880s era, Jules Verne-inspired retro-futurist, underground blood soaked adventurescape.
It is a Skirmish wargame. Two players with their own expeditions, on a hexgrid map, explore & fight each other for victory and profit.

3 versions of the rules exist, 2 of which have been playtested. The main one is 2e, to be found :

Updated the Atlantis stuff on the wiki. I left the Titking's age vague by changing it from 50 years to "a generation" under the assumption that a more in-depth character writeup would be best saved for the Atlan page. My other change was to try and emphasize that the majority of surface contact involving Atlantis was individuals coming down rather than Atlantis reaching up, especially heros and nobles.

It's good to know he actually keeps progressing, but then I read things like 'I have to design and render the entire ship's bridge, again' . . .

>>97828918
Light spoilers, but even at page 291 we're still on the bug ship, so him focusing doing the 3d background for the scene seems appropriate (all the sketch pages have no background at all).

Hopefully it just means a short slowing of progress to get the background done before he speeds up again, but I admit I'm getting PTSD flashbacks to the beginning of the dreaded Shuttle Arc.™

I thought he was using AI for the backgrounds? Atleast for the umiak ship. Which I am totally on board with due to the glacial pace of this comic.

Also, I like to keep landmarks in the margin of the character sheet. It's not a full map, but having a relation sheet for how far away the next town is or how deep into the woods the local hedge witch is does a lot.

Do you think it could be a good feature if the Wild Magic effects were balanced better? It's supposed to be a gamble for action efficiency.

Hmm, maybe I could change the value. Gambit is supposed to be the random part of the class.

ACKSHUALLY I did specify that Eldritch Blast counts as the Cast a Spell activity and that Eldritch Blow counts as a Strike. Should they have different language to make them work?

>Do you think it could be a good feature if the Wild Magic effects were balanced better? It's supposed to be a gamble for action efficiency.
Again, it is a personal deal. I'm not 100% against Wild Magic tables and the like, hence why I say it should be a feat akin to Oracle's Roll the Bones. But the concept is not something that can be all that balanced as a core class feature. If you aren't doing ONLY negative effects to balance out Gambit's potential, then you are very limited in that design space unless you consider the class to be a joke. I can't say it would be UNPOPULAR, I still people gushing fondly about Legacy Ancestors Oracle. I just prefer consistency over chaos unless I get in a good mood or headspace.
>Hmm, maybe I could change the value. Gambit is supposed to be the random part of the class.
It's less about the value more than the mechanics of Eldritch Ward. You are adding a lot for something that probably gonna end up worse than the Shield cantrip most of the time, just to luckshit some extra defense when you get hit. I rather just cut to the chase and luckshit the damage reduction than fuddle around with a shield, even if I like the shield rules of 2e.
>No less than the armors from Kineticist
It's actually much more than Kineticist's. Neither Metal Carapace or Hardwood Armor actually scales up to Heavy Armor or grant the Bulwark trait. Sentinel can't grant any unarmored class Heavy Armor like that. This have armor specialization which is usually a separate feat nor comes at Level 1. And again, it auto-scales up and at a faster rate than innate armor like Scaly Hide or Reinforced Chassis. When I say it is poachable, I mean that anyone with +3 STR wants it and can get it cause it would be one of the freest armors in existence. Multiclass Warlocks may have to wait to L4, but it still would be entirely worth it.

I will say it already does feel like a class that can fit in with the current roster. Occult Kineticist does sound fun.
>>
>>97831574
My idea with Ward is to have a Shield+ cantrip that you can keep raised for +2AC when you get the sustain feat at 12. That's why I didn't add it to Shell like Metal Carapace and Hardwood Armor have their shields. Also so I could improve them separately, but mainly for the later sustain. Will tweak the numbers, though.
Shell is a better Armor in Earth, because why do 5/1 when you can do 6/0?

Anon, the Emperor is a gigantic basement dweller nerd who explicitly hates the warlord persona, he does it because when Malcador found him living in a cave basement during the Age of Strife (working on unfucking humanity's genome) it was Malcador who convinced him he would need to be a warlord and emperor to unite Terra.
