>>97706894Lovely looking banner.
>>97708842GW devs cant be arsed to learn the lore so it is endlessly retconned
>>97704220It's a dumbed-down version of Epic 2nd ed, which is one of the best Epics. it's not bad, the quality of the inspiration shines through GWs best attempts to shittify it. and if you like it, it's pretty easy to just move on to the community maintained version of 2nd after your demo.
>>97697485quite the opposite. to date it's the only non-sportsball 28mm game they've made that doesn't suck.
Where is the go to place for Blood Bowl results from past tournaments/leagues?
When did fantasy stop being grounded to become DnDslop?
Specifically regarding "boomercore" or "zoomercore", when (and in what demographics) it became popular is more important than when it was made. Something can be both "boomercore" and "zoomercore" because these do not describe traits of the relevant media so much as aspects of generational identity. Especially with adaptations, sequels, and remakes being released for different generations.
>>97710237So what would LOTR be? That was always big, it got bigger with tourist from the movie but it was always one of the biggest fantasy books of all time. Same with games like Legend of Zelda. Each game has always been big.
>>97710212Well if you look at what I have said, it doesn't matter. (Though I did bring up that I found it funny that people were pushing that the Witcher and Elric was the new shit even though they are older than the examples Warcraft and He-Man.)
>>97710304Yet He-Man was popular among boomers, while Witcher wasn't and only became popular when younger demographic appeared.
>>97710364The Witcher was big in Europe especially Poland. It blew up worldwide and outside of just those wh read fantasy after the game came out, but it was still a big series in fantasy.

>>97710132when was the last time you bought a board game? which one was it?
>>97710334If we count group purchases, my group bought Clank Legacy 2 (it was shit) on 15/05/25. If not, my last purchase was Hegemony on 21/04/25. Haven't even had a chance to play it yet. So I mean I'm almost there if it's a challenge. There's nothing I plan on buying in the near future either.
>>97710346Based anon winning a game he didn't even play
>>97710378It's the only way I can win games.
Hey so been wanting to play in a Romance of the Three Kingdoms inspired game that I could use to run such a setting, starting from Yellow Turbans and going through it. But haven't found any ttrpgs for the setting, any suggestions on games I could use for this? Also Please no gurps or fate recommendations as my group just don't mesh with those systems.
>>97710224I like it. The book is beautiful, it fits the low fantasy wuxia genre incredibly well. My one gripe is that when they translated it from frog to english there were some minor translation issues - but it's not big enough to actually effect gameplay. The yin yang die mechanics take a little bit of getting used to if you're used to games like dnd but are thematic and fun. Essentially you have two d10, one is yin one is yang - to roll for a result you subtract the higher from the lower to get the result which ranges from 0-9. When testing a skill you add your ability and skill to the yin yang result to get a final result. If your yin and yang are the same (except for 0) you've achieved a critical success and regain some chi. If your yin and yang are both 0 you critically fail and lose some chi.Combat can be a bit esoteric but it feels like a movie like Hero or Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and encourages movement and flexibility.Mass combat (from the Art of War book) is ok but the individual heroics definitely are the main focus of the game.
>>97710280Hrmmm I see doesn't sound so bad. Have you run much of it? If so I'd love to talk with you more to learn more of it so I can better learn it for my group.
>>97710285I've run it a bit, but I'm not an expert. As much as I hate the rpg.net forums some dude ran a campaign there like a decade ago that explains everything pretty well. I dunno if you can find it on the internet archives.

So we're getting God Gundam. Are they baller enough to do a deluxe set with Ultimate Gundam? Brave enough to give us Fuunsaiki? Surely if they release God they have to release Maxter and Nobel. Can I get Master Asia, not even in a suit, just kicking things?
Here's a harmless comparison: afaik, the starter set contains as many Okawara designs as Battletech's current starter set.
Was excited until i see 3 mobile workers at different sizes and a fucking battleship in the game. Look like they treated this as a board gamify version of SRW instead of small scale gundam. Can't wait to see Big Zam and Neon Zeong being only slightly taller than a MS...
A friend wants to teach me Magic: The Gathering in a few days, but the catch is I want to mess with him. I want to know enough to know how to unexpectedly beat him while he thinks he is merely teaching me. I know nothing about the game beyond very basic ideas of what each color does. My friend tends to gravitate towards blue and knows the game very well in general like a walking dictionary. He said he wants me to play a black and white build of his. However, I may be able to change it up because I might be able to convince him to let me look at his cards and pick a different deck of his.My questions are:>How can I learn the game well in a short time>How can I surprise him by winning?>If I can change the color(s) of the deck, what should I change it to?>Is there any particular cards/builds/strategies that you use to beat very knowledgeable players?
>>97685449Jund is a grindy, power-hungry and ruthless deck, reminiscent of the Jund shard from Alara. It aims to simply play the most objectively powerful card it can, always. Very little synergy between individual cards. Nothing tribal. Rarely combos, just the best card in your colors for that slot in your deck."When in doubt, Jund 'em out," means exactly that. If you're not certain, fall back on Magic fundamentals--powerful cards, aggressive creatures, efficient removal, and build a deck that has no dominating matchups against anything... but also doesn't stray much behind a 55-45% win percentage either.
I'm also new to the game can someone explain what "untapped islands them out" means
>>97673769What you end up playing anon?
>>97695161It got pushed back. Still trying to learn.Does anyone know how I can learn or create OP combos?
>>97704591Just google em. If you know the general range of sets or blocks you'll be playing you can narrow it down a bit.

I wish I could win things. All I ever get is stomped like a little bitch. How do I git gud at mtg?
>>97709691Like I said>""we had some things noted on what we wanted to do on this plane. We made Tarkir that eclipses the same niche so we just moved the things we had developed for one plane to the other. And because they have so much in common we will not touch mongsend""Now we have context of DEI. But it doesn't change that Tarkir is not Mongsend and nor it changes that Mongseng exists.
>>97710259Not anymore, since the Planechase card existed pre-Tarkir they couldn't just wish it away, so it technically exists separately but will never be used. Does not changed the fact that the Tarkir block was meant to be set on Mongseng but was changed for woke DEI reasons, making Tarkir the first woke DEI set (as if Alesha didn't give that away).Bottom 5 plane.
They need to rename the Mogg goblin now since mogging is an incel term.

Should female bards be art hoes?
>>97709892Prestige class, actually.
>>97709947That's basically the "bard" in the recent D&D movie, he has a lute and sometimes hits people with it.
>>97709963Yeah weird he didn't do any bard abilities other than being the face etc.
>>97710343>>97709963I got so excited the one time he walked in singing and some guards gathered around him and trusted him cause I thought it was a use of Friends spell but no? It was like an illusion thing done by the wizard or something?Dumb.
