I use death's door mechanic and it's so much better I don't think I'm ever gonna run 5e without it.
tl;dr your failed death saves remain until you complete a long rest (and even then you can make healing slower by each long rest healing 1 death save), at 0 HP you have disadvantage on attacks and ability checks but remain conscious, you roll death save when dropping to 0 and whenever taking damage at 0, nat 1 does nothing special, nat 20 heals you to 1 (thus removing the disadvantage temporarily). Effects that stabilize instead heal from 0 to 1 HP. I happen to run permadeath right now, but if I didn't I guess revive spells would have no material component (or cost less) but remove failed death saves. Also, each source of save bonuses only adds no more than +1 to death saves and death save bonuses can't exceed +5.

No, I semi-intentionally omitted it but I guess it would be easy enough to have all saves against effects from them while at 0 HP be rolled with advantage. Speaking of extra exceptions I use, the disadvantage from being at 0 HP doesn't disqualify from sneak attacks.
Anyhow, you could probably even drop the whole debuff at 0 hp thing anyway, as the genuine threat of dying makes the players prefer to avoid the state anyway.

Nope. Again, it could be an interesting optional rule though to make them avoid staying at 0 HP. But it would clash with some of the magic items I've introduced, which interact with the death's door state (being at 0 HP), for example giving extra AC at death's door or flipping the debuff, so that staying at 0 HP actually gives you advantage on attacks.

There is a real solution to this. It's not expensive nor hard to obtain, but it's not quick, either. Read books of literature. Not comics or manga. Not fantasy novels. Not scifi. And read. Not "stare at a screen." Not "listen to someone else read it to you." A book made of paper that has been printed on.

Real literature. Pick and author you like. I recommend Thomas Hardy but whatever. Dickens, Hemmingway, Jane Austen... whoever. Someone prolific who genuinely writes well and at a high level. Read through their catalogue. It will physically rewire your brain. Your IQ will go up. Your immagination will expand. Your language skills will improve. And picking one writer to stick with for a few thousand pages will help reinforce those improvements.

Theory:
Fireblade's post-combat shakes aren't PTSD or stress related or a whatever% adverse side effect to cyborg brain rewiring use only as prescribed.
Instead they are the result of Umiak experimentation and bio-tampering which also resulted in telekinesis, the exact opposite of the power they were hoping to instill (they wanted to make a farseer OR create something loyal to them I think).
Fireblade's brain chemistry is part Umiak because they know best how to work with that bio template and the rest of her brain and body behaves erratically when the nerves for telekinesis start pumping bug juice into her brainpan.

While rooms the characters will be in for long stretches (like the bridge of the bug ship, which the characters seem like they'll be on for like 100 pages) he'll 3D model them. An invasion is a pretty big problem. Also note that Traitors don't have chapters, they have warbands, which are almost infinitely less organized and usually consist of whoever the hell the man in charge can bludgeon into following him.
If I had to make a guess, though, I'd say a very particular type of Word Bearer, one which lands on-planet, conveniently fails to mention his treasonous behavior or attitude toward the Emperor, and basks in the adulation of the local populace that one of the Emperor's Angels has arrived. They will then slowly convert the populace and undermine authorities, or convert the authorities and sacrifice the populace, or whatever the hell they decide to do with a planet. Probably try to fortify it against Imperial forces, likely as a staging point for future actions.
