Make a lot of $50-$75 decks since my lgs always has newer players. Once made an Edric deck that ended up going undefeated for a few weeks before I sold it to someone. 1-2 mana flying/unblockable creatures cheap counterspells and 5-6 buff spells that make a board go from ~6 power to lethal.
Kid I sold it to was upset it didnt win anymore after he replaced half the 1/1s with random simic goodstuff

Sup /tg/, wanna talk about Slavic, Steppe, and Siberian myth in TTRPGs. There's so much cool shit, from Cornflower Wraith to Bolotnik to the Hungry Ghosts. But it feels like this stuff is barely explored. What are some good resources as reading for my setting?

The entire Hill Cantons series, less Misty Isles of the Eld but ymmv on that one, are aimed at eastern euro weird fantasy. I rather like them but haven't had players express as much interest in that area of the world so we haven't used them.
Slumbering Ursine Dunes is a pointcrawl, Fever Dreaming Marlinko is a city and What Ho Frog Demons is a hex crawl that all link together.

The people who "own" this shit are sick and tired of it, and thus ee no value to export it
The people who treat it as exotic stuff meanwhile have nothing to draw from, unless they can read Cyrillic.
Truly, a huge mystery why it has low-to-none exposure
>>
>>97184950
>The people who treat it as exotic stuff meanwhile have nothing to draw from, unless they can read Cyrillic.
Cyrillic is not at all hard to read if you already know Latin (and vice versa). Both are derivatives of Greek, and neither have changed very much. Biggest hurdle is learning Russian or any other Slavic language if your mother's tongue is English, because it is substantially different.

/v/ related but play this game, Black Book is an amazing in depth dive on Komi-Perm folklore and myth. You play as a witch and its very hands on with the supernatural but it littered with information on Permian folklore made by people from there and it doesn't go into typical Russian folklore stereotypes.

Indeed I am also fascinated by Siberia and its very hard to find someone doing justice to it. There is an aspect unfortunately that both due imperial Russia doing obvious colonization methods and urbanization and overwriting it with orthodox Christianity and then the Soviets being hostile to folkloric traditional practices, has erased a lot. It is redundant to say it, but Permians, Chuds, Komi, Nenets and other Uralic peoples are NOT ethnic Russians, they have their own language, they had their own religion and completely different pattern and way of life compared to the sedentary Slavs.

I feel like this edition has alot of objectively bad things about it and is absolutely where the alot of worst qualities of current editions showed up. But I feel like I prefer playing this edition compared to a lot of previous editions and 10th edition. Its a weird transitional period where there's still a lot of the old units that haven't been legended yet while still having the fucking Primaris lot. Its strange but I don't feel like I'm missing out on much staying on this edition and playing with friends casually instead of going back to playing the current edition.

Wrong
>>
>>97186108
8th + indexes was probably peak confy 40k.
>>
>>97189772
8th Edition started to take a pretty hard turn towards the second half of the edition when the campaign books started coming out every month and marines got their second codex along with the 6 other marine supplements. 8th Edition and Indexes were one of the best ways to get into the game.
>>
>>97186108
I liked indexhammer, before the usual James Workshop power creep bloat
>>
>>97186108
Main issues were powercreep and how bloated the rules quickly got. Strategems were probably one of the worst things to happen to 40k. rather than using universal rules to make each faction stand out with strengths and weakensses, it added a new element that often made games obnoxious as most factions could just hard countered by certain factions entirely because of one strategem.

Stop being brown

File: Premodern.jpg (345 KB, 1150x1007)

I don't know how the premodern guys still think this is acceptable. Every other deck that is played more than 100 times in the last 6 months is somewhat fair with a 45-55% win rate. Meanwhile there's the tier 1 decks that aren't burn and goblins with a 59% or more win rate on average. Enchantress and Replenish are especially egregious. Other than the very tiny minority of decks that can just stop its combos on the spot consistently or beat them before they can get their combos off consistently, it's all green. All more than 60% winrates.

My opinion? Ban
>Parallax Wave (Game ended for creature decks just because opalescence is in play. Also makes it really easy to protect enchantments against wipes. Just exile them all onto waves, let the abilities resolve, and then bring them all back in after the wipes resolved)
>Parallax Tide (Degenerate play patterns. Not good for the format. With wave it's even worse)
>Argothian Enchantress (Lets green draw way more than blue, the color of card draw, ever could)
>Survival of the Fittest (banned in legacy for a reason. No reason it should be legal in this format)
>Mox Diamond
>Serra Sanctum (Just academy but for artifacts, the only one that is generally easy to deal with is cradle)
Format fixed. Can still run quite a few cool combos and strong decks. You just can't go ez mode and overwhelm your opponent as much just because you paypiggied for OP cards or proxied them.

Agreed on the Parallax interactions amd something from Enchantress. Survival is fine, Mox Diamond is fine. Sam Black always has tonnes of interesting brews; I think the format is better when people focus less on competitive decks and just play stuff that interests them. I'm surprised Moneyball isn't higher; I would've thought the huge amount of discard would position it quite well against combo.
>>
>>97186951
I'm inclined to agree. The parallax bullshit is a few steps above the rest of the format in power level. For those who played back in the day: were the parallax enchantments also super strong back then, or were the interactions not as strong?
>>
>>97186951
Survival was banned in Legacy because of modern-frame interactions, particularly it was banned because they anticipated it would be broken with Vengevine. It was only a tier 2/3 deck even at the point it was banned. There's no reason to ban it in Premodern where it's an interesting and skillful tier 2 deck.

The Parallax interactions are stupid and should be gone.

Enchantress isn't nearly as strong as that chart would have you believe, you're taking way too much from some 60%s on small sample sizes.

If I were to ban one more card after the Parallaxes, it'd be Dreadnought. Win %s are not that high because decks are running hate specifically for Dreadnought, it's the only card that has that sort of maindeck impact.

>>97190087
Parallax's were errata'd to work the way they're obviously meant to, and then was unerrata'd long after they were relevant at a time when WotC wanted more cards to do what they said on them. By that time, they were too slow for Legacy and weren't legal elsewhere.

>take soulless Primarishit model
>insert classic Forge World MkIV SOVL
>??????
>PROFIT!
And the best part is, because the precedent established by Games Workshop Group v. Chapterhouse Studio explicitly protects compatible third-party accessories, there is nothing GW can do about it but cry and exclude them from their subsidized events.

Shadow of the Demon Lord has the cult of the New God which is monotheistic and dominant in it's world, having steadily pushed aside the faith in the Old Gods. The old gods still exist and are venerated but their power has waned due to having lost many believers who worship them.

I just have this cheap picrel set, which I think might be better for this use case (the dspiae ones are surely better for actually scribing) but you can use them to shave surfaces flat if you use them sort of like a woodworking block plane, or like removing a nub with a chisel.
It's the same as shaving it down with a hobby knife, but you move along the plane of the tool instead of side to side so you can get into much harder to reach areas, and less risk of going too far.

My best friend when I was 9 was forbidden to visit or even speak to me because I showed him my brothers 1st ed AD&D cards in '93. His mom tried to get me expelled from school, my parents had to bring my brother back from college to explain to a room full of teachers and guidance counsellors what dungeons and dragons was.
When she failed to get me kicked out, his mom went on a harassment campaign against my parents for the rest of elementary school, with things that included spurious police reports and weekly, sometimes daily, harassment phone calls to my mother, which involved screaming and swearing down the phone at her.

Damage-wise, Fighter and Barbarian. Fighter for insane spikes, Barbarian for strong consistent damage and tanking to go with the "lol lmao you ded son" bodyblows. Technically Gunslinger is also up here thanks to stuff like the Combination Weapons ruling and Stab n' Blast, but I think they are still missing some form of overtuned 2-handed combination gun for such. You can replace them with Operative if you want to count Starfinder classes.
I would also want to say some form of Swashbuckler up here to, thanks to how easier it is to get Bleeding Finisher up nowadays, but I lack data on that one.

For casters, they are all pretty equal on this regard? I think Imperial Sorcerer have the highest DPS/easiest to build for? Witchwarper also have clearly high damage as well.
