>>96754138Owen's deck is confirmed for the obligatory Liberator support in BT24, and there just so happens to be a Dragonkin-type mega that plays a huge role in Time Stranger that will probably get a card. Additionally, although every level of Aegiomon's evo line besides Elecmon is a Shaman, I think there's a chance that the Aegiochusmon forms might have rule box type support, with Red likely being a Dragonkin. Mostly because there's only the one other Aegiomon card, which won't be enough to carry a proper Aegiomon deck. But mostly, Owen's getting his direct support.

Got around to listening to the new HtP. You'd think with all the moaning about it in these threads that they had Fatigue recant his white heritage while flagellating and submitting himself to Filipino bulls. All that happened was he was forgiven his part in the expedition since he didn't know the full scope of it, and was told if he wants to be rid of the guilt and shame he felt because of the actions of his family he had to do good works and help those they harmed. It's a very basic WtA plot point, doing the honorable thing even when it's not the glorious thing. If someone killed your father, we can both agree the honorable thing is to seek vengeance/amends. But what if your father kills someone? What do you owe the victims? You can say you owe nothing, it just means you lack honor.
Thoughts on running a dark academia game? What is your take on this aesthetic? Advice?I'm thinking of runing something about ecret fraternities somewhere in Oxbridge, murder mysteries, and perhaps some occult or paranomral phenomena
>>96747324tephra, ecryme, fathomless gears, nightwatch, space 1889, falkenstein, freegliders, iron kingdoms are some examples. In that sense the differential machine isn't a steampunk book. Add dieselpunk rpgs and books to that. The Secret History by Donna Tartt is considered quintessential dark academia. I get your point, but there's more to it than just visuals (and I can show the players some pics). They can picture it in their heads and listen to ambience music and rain/wind/thunder as well. It's about murder, college houses, gothic ambiences, moody atmospheres, secret societies, long corridors and hallways, libraries, perhaps a few ghosts, spells or vampires if players are into that.>>96747358same for solarpunk
>>96738951...thoughts on running a Frutiger Aero game?
>>96747562Jesus Christ, ask me how I know you're an ESL. It's "The Difference Engine," not the "differential machine." Go back to Pakistan. Also, just because something has cogs and steam doesn't make it steampunk. Steampunk is an aesthetic, same as dark academia; whereas cyberpunk or high fantasy are frameworks for storybuilding.
>>96754900>Steampunk is an aestheticHuh. I'd figure steampunk has been developed enough at this point to be able to be it's own framework, like its cousin cyberpunk.
>>96745337It's just an aesthetic. Think gothic architecture, librarians in tweed, early to mid 20th century boarding schools/universities, etc.
If you bought a D&D adventure and opened it and saw a hand-drawn map that was scanned in like pic related, would you demand a refund? Say it was cleaned up a bit more, but was still clearly a scan of a drawing on actual graph paper.
>>96753627Copy the drawing onto clear paper or have some guy on Fiverr do it for you.Looks like it was scribbled by a bored kid during maths lesson. Sloppy.
>>96753702I do have a light table. But these dungeons are large enough that hand drawing those grid lines make it even more likely I'll screw up. Or would you make a mental note to never get an adventure from that publisher again?>>96754153I use blender for ship miniatures but modeling a whole map in 3D would be too much time to be viable compared to just doing 2D digital art.>>96754632Copying it onto clear paper won't do anything to make it more useful for an adventure. The grid lines are necessary to make sure someone can actually map it out on a battle grid which people use for D&D now more and more.I try to make my lines straight but it's hard on such a small scale. That's where I wonder, if this is even worth it or if I should just bite the bullet and do it digitally.
Just get a copy of Inkscape (it's free) and use the grid and draw line functions.Attached pic took maybe 6 minutes and once you've created something it sticks around so doors are easily duplicated and moved around the map.
>>96749262I generally like handmade things more, so the first one. My only complaint would be the handwriting. If you're making a module OP (you probably aren't), it's safer to go with a digitally made map, but it's up to you.
>>96755058>If you're making a module OP (you probably aren't), it's safer to go with a digitally made map, but it's up to you.I am trying to yeah. >>96737261>TQEverything I could say has already been summed up in >>96738400, >>96740166 and >>96745625. I enjoy Infernals who revel in the power of their titanic, inhuman patrons even as they chafe against their overbearing desires. I enjoy Infernals with a defined nominal role and purpose in Creation, that they are free to revel in-actualising the nightmare of the Anathema-or through heroic effort subvert. I enjoy Infernals who are in the process of becoming more demon than hero, something greater than the broken Primordials, and ultimately something more alien from the human experience than the Metropoli that Alchemicals grow up into (and I will never stop shitting on 3e for eating crow by taking the L by having Metropoli be a thing. I don't care what kind of mental gymnastics you do, by definition building scale Charms are in fact an Essence-gated flat power upgrade).Naturally this mean that everything I've heard about 3e Infernals disgusts and disappoints me, and I will not acknowledge anything about them as canon.
>>96737261>TQ: What's your vision of an Infernal? Not the kind that's coming or that was written in an old edition; what is the Infernal your heart desires?I liked 2e's "people who just fucking flubbed it" idea but if that's gonna make people go "I don't wanna play someone who sucks" then I think a better thematic element for Infernals is people in situations where they would have prevailed if they got an Exaltation but just...didn't. Because there's only so many to go around. I like the idea of the Yozi's laughing and commiserating with the Infernal-to-be, going "yeah, sure sucks, doesn't it? Fuck the gods and the Exalted" and offering them the Infernal Exaltation as revenge. Infernals being Exalts bitter about the concept of the random jackpot of celestial Exaltation sounds like a fun concept.
>>96754896I just cannot imagine Malfeas showing enough empathy to see a bit of his own misfortune in a loser, as opposed to wanting to weaponise that loser's thwarted rage. Malfeas at his lowest and most debased is still the Demon Emperor, the idea of him sympathising with a mortal-with a potential reincarnation of his kin's killers-is as absurd as how they rewrote the Shoat.
>>96754979>I just cannot imagine Malfeas showing enough empathy to see a bit of his own misfortune in a loser, as opposed to wanting to weaponise that loser's thwarted rage.I definitely agree with you there. I just view it less as, say, Malfeas actually legitimately empathizing with them and more going "oh good, this person will agree with my fuck-the-gods agenda if I tell them that the UCS left them out to dry". The fact that the Yozis are dogshit patrons that Infernals are all but expected to flip off so they can go do flaming hell skateboard tricks on Immaculate corpses is like one of the major things that makes them different from basically all other Exalted (besides, like, Abyssals, I guess, but even those are still more likely to earnestly believe in the death philosophy and stuff), so making the relationship *start* at shaky pretend-sympathy sounds good to me.
>>96754873>(and I will never stop shitting on 3e for eating crow by taking the L by having Metropoli be a thing. Got any ideas for Warhammer factions you'd like to share? Fantasy, 40k, AoS, whatever; if it's Warhammer, it can be posted here.
i made some WHFB races long ago.Now with ai i can add image to themThe Olm-Hulud are an amphibious race living in underwater caves. Most of the race is composed of Newts. Their body is skaven-sized, supported by a massive tail. The tail is their main means of locomotion, making them similar to small nagas and freeing their legs to function as an additional pair of arms. The use of four arms allows for interesting options in combat, such as dual-wielding spears. Their skin is white and extremely light-sensitive. Olm-Hulud skin secretes hallucinogenic substances which they skillfully use. They have incredible regenerative powers, allowing them to regrow entire limbs.Newts reach sexual maturity at the age of 20 and usually live until death by old age around 140 years. However, some newts undergo a ritual called "the Shower/Baptism" which triggers a metamorphosis. They turn into a more adult salamander form; their skin darkens and thickens, with decorative stripes and patterns developing on it. The regenerative properties are lost, as well as their gills. They grow bulkier, tougher, and stronger. The process is extremely traumatic to the Newt, and their remaining lifespan is halved as a result. Usually, the Shower is used when a colony is facing danger, and Newts sacrifice their lifespan and suffer great pain to be able to protect their home. Other times, the Shower is used as a punishment for criminals.
>>96754931You can tell the social standing of an Olm-Hulud by the whiteness of their skin. The higher the status, the less time they spend under the sun and the paler their skin. The noblest Newts have no pigments at all, making their skin and internal organs transparent. When coming to a battlefield, most of those arrive covered with linen strips to protect their sensitive skin, making them look like mummies. Some mages instead use arcane protections. Such practitioners resemble moving statues of glass on the battlefield. One of their holy relics is a Slann mummy which they worship to the level of having names such as Vladislann and Miroslann. Yes, they are supposed to have a slight Slavic influence. They use bone weapons with the names of the bone parent written on them. Due to hunger, many lay in stasis. They have sacred underground plants that grow without light and provide sustenance to a small group of Olms.
Another is the faction of KOGAA group of mutated humans and chaos dwarves decided to abandon Chaos and settled in the north of the New World. They are inspired by worst characteristics of ninja in fiction: use of poison, body mdifications and human experimentations, bloody feuds. They are few in numbers but like to use experimental tech similarly to skaven, which explains why they never expanded as a faction. After escaping the rule of Chaos they settled in rainy regions north of Lustria. People divided into clans and there was a lot of infighting, as well as wars with Lizardmen and Skaven. The clans were composed of mutated humans but most tried to start eugenics programs and select only memebers of the clan with particular traits. After centuries clans had a stable phenotype, similarly as Skaven diverged from the beastmen.
