>>97280411Funnily enough, I've made that plate chart. And no, as far as I know, it wasn't proven wrong. In fact, I even saw it circulating on plebbit, and not even the AP fanboys there seem to disagree with it. If anything, there were more cases of AP paints dissolving/pulling under white spirit/oils, including plenty of them lately (~6 months range), and a lot of debate about it, too (you can google army painter + white spirit + reddit) Imo, it's a real problem and even redditors, who are traditionally the #1 victim of AP marketing, are noticing.
>>97280411at equal sperg levels it would me more rational to trust the man that made the plate than another just sperging about it without his own plate, more so when you take into account that the plate anon made it because a discussion was already in progress with several 'other' anons having problemstldr: >>97280350 >no rational reason to buy AP if you have access to AK or even Vallejo.
>>97280318Different people like different paints, a lot don't have much preferences either way at all, and we have one guy in particular around here who would apparently get a brain haemorrhage if he didn't sing AK's praise as Pure and Perfect Divinity in a Bottle every time paint is mentioned. In reality GW, AP, AK, Vallejo... just get whatever has the specific hues you want, the rest is either a matter of specific paints vs specific paints instead of range vs range or too marginal to really matter. So don't think it's a big deal what you get, just get something from one of the common choices and start painting.
>>97280464>>97280470Yeah that's what I figured especially since I did look it up on plebbit and there were a couple posts with people bringing up the issue. I'm more inclined to trust /wip/ anyway, especially since anon actually put an effort into testing it.

What was your first game of 2026, anons? Earlier today I played Arnak for the first time, 2p game with my wife. I quite enjoyed it, thought we wouldn't get to do all too much seeing as there's only 5 rounds of 2 worker placements each, but there was enough to do with card actions and misc. free actions. I think I'll get the expedition leaders thing soon. Also looking forward to playing with 3 or 4 people to see how it differs with numbers of location tiles and competition for sites.

>>97278728you can order it, it's POD in dtrpg or whatever
>>97278092how do you run an osr-adjacent game without magical healing?you might want to check out Cartel (the pbta Narcos game) or the 100 Bullets comic for inspiration, it's like a modernized digestible take on the era without the kids on bikes trope.
>>97279021>how do you run an osr-adjacent game without magical healing? In ItO games you have 1d6hp that recovers with minimal resting but all attacks hit. Damage above your hp is taken down from your stats. Functionally what is called "HP" is actually consumable AC. If your stats go down you roll under your new lowered stat and if you fail it's a crit. I don't recall how it goes in ItO but in this one crit damage means you're down until someone takes an action to help you. People went down and up all the time. Any hit has a high chance of downing you, anyone can pick you up, you are constantly more and more likely to go down with any hit. That aspect went pretty good, the players had multiple options and tried things I doubt they would in other settings/systems.The mechanics for automatic weapons are also pretty good and in-line with the system. You roll a die for each target and everyone gets the lower one. That means each new target probably lowers the damage, but after a couple rounds all HP is spent so any damage could be critical and get them out of the fight. It was a decent one shot. I just wish I had some better way to make players adapt to a different genre. I recalll 100 Bullets being more grunge than glam. I wanted that Phil Collins playing over a shoot out kind of vibe, the closest players got was wantign Push It To The Limit playing all the time. But I read like over a decade ago.
>>97279136>I don't recall how it goes in ItOSimilar but deadlier. Failing a critical damage roll means you're out of action until someone else gets to you and you have a short rest to restore HP. If no one gets to you in an hour you're dead. Sounds like the Miami 86 helping each other up is faster and fits the fleshwound action run and gun vibe. Combat in ItO can get very deadly very quickly if enough party members get hit and taken out of action. Tends to result in TPK or a few survivors running away in my experience. Might try the 86 method next time.
I'm looking to run Dead Weight for Mothership as an introductory one-shot. Does anyone have experience in tracking/progressing time as the ship falls apart? I'm particularly aware that as written Renato’s body breaches the reactor two hours after the incident. I'm leaning to have this occur about halfway through the night, with the activities needed to jettison the pearl artificially eating up in-game time so the climax at the seventh hour comes at a faster real team pace. However, having the player's work up until that point undone is a bit of a risk.

>>97280327...do beastmen have a childhood?
>>97280362Lots of examples they do. Even excluding the human born ones, the Doe's are well established. It's actually likely beastmen as a whole have a lower infant mortality rate, but a much higher teenage/young adult mortality rate. Their children are pretty damn well defended, and the doe's are highly valued. They have like a super trad wife family style, though I don't think its monogamous in any way.
>>97280362Beastdoes/women do exists, and not much in known about them, but it is suggested they care for the young until they are strong enough to fight for scraps of food and partake in hunts themselves.

If you could choose the set of core classes (in the PHB/core book and ideally the rest of the classes are designed around them) what would you choose? They don't have to be identical to their current incarnations. For me its,>Ranger, absorbs a lot of the fighter but keeps the independent survivalist schtick.>Paladin, Divine warrior with special abilities but no spells>Rogue,Sneaky stabby martial, basically as he is now>Wizard,>Druid,>Cleric,Default to being lightly armoured wandering friar tuck type character, but with options to put on some armour and bonk.

>>97229027Doesn't really matter. What options players have available to them isn't particularly determinative of the quality of the game. Rules are 10% of it, but 90% are the energy and fun you bring to it. Either ruleset can be just fine, as long as you and your table are into it.So really? Whatever you've recently found that inspired you to go "oh shit I could a run a game off that."

>>97275563Sort of, but not quite. He was already wandering around Ansalon in service to Kitiara and Takhisis before he encountered Laurana at the battle of the High Clerist's Tower. She either reminded him of his elven wife and it was instant desire for her, or instant desire for revenge on elves using her. Kit's plan is to present Laurana to Takhisis and get as a reward the Crown of Power. In return for his assistance Kit agrees to ask that Laurana's soul be given to Soth, though at the same time Kit promises Tanis to release Laurana into his care. Takhisis agrees to give Laurana's soul to Soth but of course that never happens. There's a bit of a scuffle and it turns out that Laurana is protected the the gods of goods so Takhisis couldn't do it anyway. At the end of that scuffle Soth says Kit has amused him and as an undead he might wait for her, which might be the moment that he pivots from Laurana to Kitiara.
