How's D6 for solorpg?
>>96826159>>96826168Thanks.That's a nice source of inspiration.I was planning to resculpt my Rebel Agent to give it a more feminine figure.I also got the Imperial Officer/Agent box and was planning to kitbash/sculpt the officer into Ocho from Visions and make the agent some sort of Storm Commando. I'll post the result when I get around doing it.>Legion Point ChangesI really don't know what to expect to be honest.People keep clamoring for Aqua nerfs, but I think just making the Heavy 5 points more expensive might be enough. I don't think CIS has really any underperforming unit that could use a buffFor Republic I think Clone Infantry heavies could use a small point cut, and Commandos/Delta could do with costing around 5pts less.As a Rebel Player I think Sleeper Cell are now well costed, but the Landspeeder M-45 and Unhinged Droid will get hit with the nerfbat. I'm not sure how they could buff Rebel Commandos and Wookies. I can't see them make commandos even cheaper, it would be weird for commandos to cost less than Corps. I think for Wookies they'll try to give them a wookie-only upgrade to try and fix them.Imps are where it gets tougher. I doubt they'll touch corps, they'll want to see how Imperial March and the Customs affect things. ISF have the same problem as Rebel Commandos, but they could get a 10-15pts cut without stepping on corps' toes. I doubt they'll reverse Range Trooper nerfs, but they should, at least until the new objectives are released. The Inquisitor will probably get a 10-20pts cut to match other Force user buffs last updateFor Mercs, I think Cad Bane could use a 10pts cut and/or making the gauntlet free. Likewise, SC Maul could get a 10pts cut. What I'm most curious about is if they'll show the Squadron Leader, Kraken and Rex upgrade cards. I hope other factions can get their own named characters as Heavies for units that could use more options.

I remember playing 1e back in the day and wondered if 2nd edition is worth anything?
>>96830601>what did he mean by this
>>96829909The difference is that 1e had the gods removed, while 2e had them at a remove. The pantheons in 2e didn't pack themselves off to their Godrealms and live in perpetual stasis as protection from Fatebinding. They stayed in close enough contact with the world that their cults continued for hundreds or thousands of years, but also somehow never evolved over the generations. The supernatural world has explicitly always been just beneath the surface in 2e, instead of fading memories and very rare divine vacations.
>>96830898>The pantheons in 2e didn't pack themselves off to their GodrealmsYes they did. Gods tend to stick to the Otherworlds because Fate will alter them otherwise. That's kind of the basic premise of the setting. Gods stay behind the curtain for a lot of reasons, so meddle in indirect ways. >They stayed in close enough contact with the world that their cults continued for hundreds or thousands of years, Through incarnations, scions, and other intermediaries. They're not often galivanting around the World as themselves. >but also somehow never evolved over the generations. They tend to take steps to not get Fatebound to Hel and back, but they're not entirely removed from time and basically all the portfolios tell you a little about how they exist in modern day. >The supernatural world has explicitly always been just beneath the surface in 2e, instead of fading memories and very rare divine vacations.Yeah, because there isn't a masquerade. Obviously people know it's real and there when it's not hidden ancient truths.
>>96749470Look at it this way: Storypath also runs Aeon (the super-hero game). Nobody talks about Aeon because it's a shitty system for a supers game. Scion is a supers game where everyone shares the same origin ("I got my powers from a mythic pantheon"). So is it worth anything? Well, Mutants & Masterminds in any edition is a better super hero system than Storypath, so I'd say "no".
>>96831642>Mutants & MastermindsI heard 4e came out but never got around to giving it a look. What's it like?

>>96833618At a $100 budget I think Kraven like >>96833546 mentioned might be a good choice. It's pretty simple to build, you kill your opponent's monster and run cards that say "whenever a creature dies you get something of value", pretty self-explanatory theme and not too hard to build on a budget.Norman Osborn/Green Goblin might also be good and simple to design (you draw cards, discard big creatures and then reanimate them) but it might stretch your budget more.Cosmic Spider-Man is also very simple but building a 5 color manabase on a small budget can be tricky.
>>96832071It's already happening in a non-Time Spiral set. Exile will soon just be another graveyard.

>>96833675What about the Spiderman in his standard costume are they good? Also the cosmic Spiderman why is that one tricky to build?
>>96832516I generally have an idea for a theme, playstyle or mechanic that I wanna pursue when building a deck. It doesn't have to be optimal for the commander, but I do try to make it work well enough. For example Jon Irenicus:>I can gift nasty shit, but then I also have to deal with it myself at some point, it might just get blocked and opponents will wanna take me out faster>Or I just gift them unblockable creatures, which generate card draw pretty reliably>Then I can also slot in a bunch of value equipments to get more triggers off of them potentially>And for control cause I barely have any board for my own, I can use force to sac effects as my gifts are kinda excluded from themThe rest is just filling the deck with cards that fall into those categories plus ramp. It's one of my weaker decks, but nice to play against beginners.

I didn't mind when missiles were still expensive, but ever since the WWII pack, they've more-or-less rendered surface ships worthless for their point cost? I haven't seen a single table bring anything except submarines, aircraft carriers, and destroyers in years. Are the devs ever going to make the naval battle component of the game playable again or what?
>>96821100It's typically estimated based on what their reactors could refine, plus a hefty dose of bias from the researchers about which nations they enjoy (compare FAS vs IISS).>>96821403>1e drones: an expensive way of bombing a few guerillas without the media penalty>2e update: drones are now super cheap and kill everything>3e update: drones are autoblocked by jammers>4e update: fiber optic drones counter but you just know swarms are coming up in the next patchCan we get a little balance please?
>>96820941>Powercreep always ruins every game.capitalism. capitalism ruins every game. otherwise they could freeze in time and be the same game forever, like battleship or checkers.
There is no hope for the naval system. Currently.Ships used to have to get close but now they can kill each other without ever getting into torpedo range which makes entire builds useless.Go missile or get tabled. Best hope is that the new lasers include some autoblock for missiles. Then surface stuff will be fun again.Speaking of no fun shit, planes fight without ever entering the map. All the airforce engagements at the last tourney consisted of two assholes rolling dice in silence in front of an empty table before yelling "GG RTB" then leaving the table. Might as well do rock-paper-scissors.Ground is the only fun area. Drone update broke a lot of the meta but smart players are finding ways around it. Really excited to see what comes out of this in the laser update, maybe my tank build will be viable again
>>96818323Nah you are stupid you jut aren't using enough ships. If you equip your ship with missiles you can BTFO most dangerous things on the table ferly quickly and then follow it with the classic Naval Bombardment strats we all love.>Muh but it costs a lot of pointsWell thats the point it can dominate the table. Era of spamming cheap chaff is over.
>>96820941I don't really care for nukes gameplay-wise but at least they have a lot of potential to unfuck the lore. Every major special character for the last few editions has been an unlikable asshole and there's no overarching plot anymore beyond pointless grimdark. It'd be a good way to clear the board and come up with something new.
Everywhere I've looked people only want to run asynchronous play-by-post. Games advertised as live text get a dearth of responses compared to PbP and voice. Players even feel entitled to tell you they've lost interest because it's not one of those formats. Was there some revolution I slept on? Years ago you used to be able to find something. Now an entire summer went by without a single game showing up. God damn it feels like this whole hobby died out of nowhere.
Even when i did play games where I had to mic up i would still shitpost in the text channels. I run a live text dnd 13e game on sundays. I get alot of forigeners and mmo chatbar enjoyers. Live text filters alot of people who are there for attention and socialization instead of the game and pbp is timeslot agnostic. I keep my players in a voice channel, we all mute mic and play dungeon synth archives beacuse at one point I had to stop 2 zoomers from being in a voice call during the game lol. Sometimes we pregame and postgame in voice. I enjoy gaming with people before when I know a bit about them, where they from and their real name that kind of thing. This filters some people out but our group is stronger for it.

So how the fuck do round robin campaigns work? Taking turns GMing short games makes sense, but how does anyone make that shit work for long term campaigns? How do you set up plotlines when you've got one arc and then the next one is being run by a totally different person with completely different ideas?I just finished a campaign for my group I've been ForeverGM for, so I'm interested in trying something like that so I can actually play for a while. But other than just doing completely unrelated short games or one-shots, I don't know how you'd make that work.
>>96828923>How do you set up plotlinesPresumably you don't. Just play the game instead of trying to write a novel.
>>96828923>Run a hexcrawl>Run a dungeon crawlGee, that was hard>B-but plotThen you run one-shots, simple as that.Check out Broken Compass, it has half of the game designed around the concept of keeping the party and general plot idea, but switching the GM/players every time people feel like it.
>>96828923I'm forever GM and we started a no GM game. It's pretty fun. I handle all the world building and set dressing, the other two do book keeping.
>>96828923Why would the GMs take turns running different plotlines? If you take over you continue with the running narrative.
