Considering that several of the original companions are not human I see nothing wrong with it, as long as it fits with the calsses. Technically vampires are not humans and knights have the specific option to be one. As a mage you could also take on aspects of your mentor in element magic. In general I don't think there is anything wrong with it.

The companion section has souls that are elves, undead, and even demons. You don't exactly turn into your soul by default, but one of the swordsman options turns you into a vampire. If you're willing to hide your inhuman features in shower city then go for it. There are other who want to transform into their soul when they get transported so that's also an option.

If you'd be interested I wouldn't mind forming a party. My build is Auvic. We're both Rogues but we have differing skillsets with my build being a social build and yours being an assassin, and I could see the Shower City versions of our characters having the kind of relationship where Lee tries to keep Auvic out of trouble, since Lee seems to have a good head on his shoulders.

I could also see a dynamic where Lee is a good guy who gets isekai'd into the body of an amoral assassin, and Auvic is the kind of person who lacks discipline and lashes out at those around him and is in the body of someone who is everything he isn't, i.e. benevolent, beautiful, graceful, etc. Basically a "good guy in bad guy body and bad guy in good guy body" dichotomy.

It even works if Lee doesn't go to the school, as he would have more of a "big brother with his shit together to look up to" kind of role.

Lucianus will be split between his passion for discovering the new world and the more pressing matters of making sure we don't die. He would try to execute his plan of making a blacksmith either replicate his decorative armor or possibly modify his current outfit to be like it. After that it's time to study the culture, probably in a very creepy way like climbing up windows and taking notes in front of people. Since we did not have many proper interactions yet I am not sure what the rest of the party would do, or even what it would be, but he would at least try to not separate completely, he will disappear to study the odd cultural site or shiny object but he will try to stay in line of sight, you just have to turn around a bit.

I had a small plot point that made runed objects invisible to those not worhy. Depends on the level of Genjutsu but unless it's literally Tsukyomi you can break out by recognizing the Genjutsu and flaring your chakra if it's the total simulation type. That's dependant on the skill level of the two though.

Most Genjutsu isn't of that type and is lesser practical illusions though. Right now it's mostly Yuma that's built to lock you in a nightmare realm, Ichika is more for memory manipulation and Sen is general practical illusions.

Wisps are either the Will'O wisp, in which case they are kinda like ghosts, or in this case since they are relatively low in the progression I would assume they are just magic wisps so they could be elemental. Probably a good idea. We'd just need the exact phrasing. If it's kinda long, we could tuck it into a setting explanation rentry that briefly covers some of the worldbuilding decisions we do. Could even update it as we go to accommodate new discoveries from writefags, like how objects with runs are invisible to most people, even in photographs.

A caring leader probably isn't wrong, but she's not a reckless/suicidal character that's perfectly fine with sticking her neck out. I guess what I'm trying to say is that she'll take burdens upon herself if she thinks there's minimal risk in doing so (she doesn't need to be correct- feel free to play the angle where she's too proud to recognize the risk). If there's significant risk and said risk will be mitigated by asking for help, then she'll ask for help even if that means the people helping her will share that risk... Well, within reason anyway- I more mean that for asking help from the other PCs. It's not like she'd throw low level farmers at monsters to act as a distraction.

Yes and no. I think we've just got a difference in perspective. The bond with our souls increases with exploration, but that in and of itself is rather vague. Is exploration simply sightseeing and distance traveled? To me it's about experiencing new things. Killing monsters in and of itself might not make her stronger (she doesn't expect it to), but the people she meets, the places she goes to, and the stories she learns in the process of killing monsters would all be exploration just the same as visiting landmarks and learning about culture.

...Which is a roundabout and convoluted way to say something, so I guess what I'm really trying to say is that exploration comes in countless forms. I think we'll get stronger no matter how we engage with the world of Gras Paada. Everything from window shopping, to reading books, to hearing some drunk one-sidedly tell his life story, to actual physical exploration... They're all in a sense exploration. At the very least it makes more sense to me that way.

He certainly gains the most, but there's otherwise still gains. In terms of powers, both vampires have hemomancy and can store blood in their bodies in advance, especially so for Tomoe who doesn't need to bite. More importantly though, fighting means making money. Whether the party sells the monster's body parts or whether they collect comission fees in some way, they stand to gain funds, which can in turn be used to buy equipment or otherwise aid in our journey.

Not wrong, but questing seems like it tends to be pretty efficient all things considered- it's typically a condensed bundle of a lot of different experiences... Either way it doesn't matter too much. This isn't a TTRPG and we don't have stats to balance. The whole cast will just vaguely get stronger over time. Trying to argue that one person's method of exploring is more meta and will make them stronger isn't really meaningful.

A power like the No Man's Favor will do that, kek. The long term game plan for Tomoe is to simply accumulate massive amounts of blood. There's no cap on how much blood hemomancy can store, and in theory she can re-collect any blood she loses or performs hemomancy with, so her total is only going to become higher over time until she's essentially a walking lake of blood.

The only thing I'm unsure of is if the vampire's ability to drain blood and increase their physical ability stacks. If massive amounts of blood results in a massive physical boost, then under the right conditions she could get a huge stat buff- mainly any sort of large scale battlefield with a ton of demons to drain. Either way, I'd imagine that everyone is still going to be around the same overall level by the end.

Who else even has the power of Angel Mode, let alone at her level, let alone at her age? In reality though, behind closed doors and when she's alone, she is still despondent over what happened. This has lead her to adopt a practice that she hates in theory, but finds it brings solace, and one that her shinjutsu can heal away the damage. She can react with anger, but not to the extent of the Rage.

Nta, but Itachi was the only one I remember being treated as a genjutsu god yet they all did crazy genjutsu shit. Obito pulled some kotoamatsukami tier non MS genjutsu out of his ass, Sasuke's regular sharingan genjutsu was like tsukuyomi lite, and there's the whole infinite tsukuyomi from Madara. They were all generational talents in general though and I chalk most of this up to sloppy Shippuden writing so I don't think it should be used to wank every sharinganfag to be able to do those things, but I would say any of the sharingan having PCs have some potential to pull out something nasty even if they aren't a dedicated genjutsu merchant. Pretty much. As shippuden went on everyone got stronger, sometimes not necessarily in-universe either. Limitations and the like were generally dropped, especially during the war arc. Sharingan is a strong genjutsu boost though, even if you go purely by points and start splitting it up then MS alone is close to Illusory Arts 3, which is a benchmark for scary shit.

I was not arguing we should, I just worded it wrong. It's honestly a very narrative driven system already, and I am fine with it.

From what I understand from it, it does not really. The blood boost is static, but it's probably a percentage, like 25% or 50%, so the boost does not grow but it does scale as you get stronger because the base is higher, Cruel soul would put the boost from 25-50 to 50-100. With your powerset however the thing is going to be permanent effectively, as long as you are fighting a demon or human and they bleed. It does not say the boost lasts longer the more you drink or that it gets stronger, so I assume you just need a treshold and then you can just keep refreshing the duration. Lucianus can also reabsorb blood, it should be part of hemokinesis as long as you don't stop controlling it you should be able to get it back as it's still yours, Tomoe will have an easier time with it and a bit of blood probably gets lost when used because it gets tainted but generally any vampire with hemokinesis will only go higher in blood, unless they are an idiot that wastes it. Lucianus on the other hand with both Battlemage and Spellblade will be able to imbue blood with lightning, making the bloodstorm much more literal, it will take time of course, for now it's just shocking grasp but with claws. All of the powers in the cyoa are balanced to provide generally the same power progression, so even if you can't use infinite blood boost you will compensate with some other way, better handling or the blood condensation, which is pretty strong if you consider how heavy water is. Blood has a lot of iron in it, it will make both for good weapons and a good conductor if condensed.

Wow I ran out of characters, maybe I should write less. Anyway as I understand it Hemokinesis allows you control of your own blood, so as long as it's still yours you can get it back. The Heart makes you control other people's blood and makes you absorb it. Anyway the only problem with Tomoe not biting is if she needs to stealth drain someone, because The Heart needs a wound and a mass of blood floating away from someone is pretty noticeable, and following it would lead straight to her. But that is incredibly situational and unlikely to ever be a problem. Biting would also be less painful and less dangerous if you ever need to drink from an ally but that is also not that big a deal, blood is surprisingly common in living beings.

I like pic related's genjutsu. It's ironically unique for the canon in the sense that she's the only one who uses hand signs for it consistently when lorewise that's meant to be the more common method, others require KG, summons or tools.

Itachi was just such an overpowering introduction to peak level genjutsu that it never recovered narratively.

I agree with blood boost being static since that's easier, but hemomancy allowing you to reabsorb blood is something I don't really agree with. That's the heart's job. My assumption was that normally blood expended with hemomancy is lost after being cast- not just that you couldn't re-absorb blood that way, but also that once you release the blood you lose control over it. Basically once you use hemomancy, the blood isn't yours anymore. Maybe you could manually drink up the expended blood though.

Or I suppose as another way to look at it, if being able to have unlimited blood is a normal function of hemomancy, it doesn't leave All-Embracing-Heart with a whole lot. It makes it easier to get the blood boost, but in theory you could maintain the buff without it unless the duration is super short. It'd mostly just be a moderate pain aura at that point, which is rather underwhelming.

I guess I'll chime in since people are taking about my build's upgrades. The main reasons I picked up a weapon are because 1) I think chain sickles are cool and 2) their primary function is to draw blood for cursing the same way Hidan's scythe was. I feel like it makes sense and is thematic.

Also since it seemed like there would be a jump to B I wanted to save more curses and stuff like dark element for that. Since everything gets boosted some with rank and she's got yin/yang I figured she could still have gotten somewhat better at curses without quite going all in yet.

Sure, Itachi wasn't going to lose a genjutsu fight, but she was probably the only person in Konoha that he couldn't deal with using genjutsu alone, so it's not like she was too weak to use in the main narrative either. Incredibly disappointing show on Kishi's part.

Unlike Shoggoth who makes all the other mutants feel better about themselves. Shinkan makes them feel inadequate. Some mutants just get all the luck. I guess it's a good thing Shinkan-anon dumped or he would've swept all the eligible singles.

Yeah, I’ve been in a writing funk lately so I haven’t been able to get my thoughts down lately.
Sally will be donating the money to Kawaramachi, though she’d probably go to Noah’s father and ask “out of curiosity” how actually cash such a large amount. Wouldn’t be surprised if she still had trouble legally getting the money on the check though.

Sally hates everything Desolator represents far too much to join him. She’d sooner trust Inigo with the weight of her emotional baggage than join what is in her eyes evil in its purest form.

No, it specifically says you can control it, and since you can deploy it without having to cut yourself ot stands to reason you can also get it back in. The Heart has another function, it draws other's blood to you, regardless of where you are and makes getting new blood easy to get. Hemomancy is not blood bullets and swords, it's blood tentacles and other constructs too, that require concentration. It's part of the basic vampire toolkit usually being able to reabsorb blood that way. Being able to get new blood that easy is plenty powerful, having to conserve blood and not being able to just shoot it is already a very heavy drawback. By definition hemomancy should let you do both, but as long as the blood is yours you can control it, or it would make no sense.

It still does not make any sense otherwise, because it would mean you NEED the heart to properly use Hemomancy. No power should need another to be properly usable, hemomancy by itself is useless in your opinion which ruins the balance of the whole cyoa. It should not even be divided like this, but since the division is there it clearly cannot be used on other's blood, disallowing it to even properly do it's own job, which is controlling blood and should include telling it to go back inside, is crippling the ability for no reason. The Heart is very powerful even without having to take that away from hemomancy so there is no reason to.

To Lord Haruto, I do feel sorry that you were made to wear armor you were unfamiliar with...I think that in their culture that was just a bit of heavy-handed flirting.
