How do you feel about buying toys of stuff from movies you haven't seen, games you haven't played, etc? Not just like, I collect Marvel Legends and I haven't read any of the comics featuring this character but she looks cool so I'm adding her to my collection. I'm talking full on, this is from a property you know nothing about, if anyone asks you anything based on the assumption that you must be familiar with the source material you'll just have to shrug.Like, I like this vaguely evil looking chick. Never played Final Fantasy 16, have no plans to, have no idea who she is or what her deal is. But cool toy, kinda want it.
>>11657126I don't do it generally. I'm already collecting enough lines from series/franchises I like to eat up all my space. I have had interesting figures encourage me to check out the source material, though. As far as OCs, I've only bought Snail Shell's Lustia so far, but I haven't opened her yet. Some of the others like their angel and ninja are tempting, too.
>>11657551I love the Pecorine figma. I didn't even watch the anime nor play what's left of the game til I bought it, but i do regret not being into Princess Connect earlier
>>11657126One of the Andor droids fits in well with some other robots for the franchise I already collect. And I also have og Diamond Select release of The Iron Giant and have picked up the ReActions and just recently because it was nearly half off, the new 7' from Super7. So I can see picking up a few more alien robots.
>>11657126I but action figures because it allow me to appreciate a design I like in different poses and different angle. So yes I buy things from shows I know much about as long I find the design appels to me in certain way and that figure isn't shit. For that figure OP mentioned, I wanted it at first as well but based on my previous experience with bring arts and watching review I ended up not buying it cause the quality isn't worth my time or money.
>>11657126Buy what you actually like. If you like it because it looks cool, then you have a reason to buy it. It's better than buying 100 boring bitches like Mon Mothman or Jocasta Mi that you bought just because you like Star Wars. That was my mistake. I should have just stuck to Cantina and Jabba's palace because I like the freaky aliens.
Is Mega actually fucking dead now? Will Mattel Brick shop EVER put out anything other than Hot Wheels? Why is Mattel rebranding Halo sets if they have not announced anything new? Will they ever do anything other than Halo?Previous: >>11622600Best sources for Mega news:https://www.instagram.com/bryan_mcx/?hl=enhttps://www.instagram.com/megaplayants/?hl=enArchived Threads:https://archive.palanq.win/toy/search/subject/Mega/
>>11656475thanks for making a new thread
>>11656481Pretty sure it wasn't Mattel's call to make. Besides, IPs tend to migrate back and forth between Mattel and Lego over the years. I'm sure they'll get it back in time.
>>11657596ThisI'm surprised they held onto the license for so long. Considering that Mega and Lego have shared the following licenses:Pirates of the caribbeanMarvelTMNTThe only place where Lego has outdone Mega is obviously Marvel
>>11657634Don't forget about Spongebob Squarepants
What do you guys think about the Narnia and King Arthur lines?
>Kills 1:18 at Western retailHeh...Nothin personell...kid...
>>11650399>1/6 is good for figures 1/18 is good for vehicals and large animals. 1/12 is for children.1/6 is good for figures that stand still and never get posed. 1/12 is good for actual figures. 1/18 is good for vehicles and monsters.
>>11649414>After Disney licensing fees I really do think they sold it at the lowest possible price. Not at all. They are gouging just like they're gouging on other figures they make. Do you think that including an MTG card instantly makes an ML worth 47 dollars?
>>11650013I don't want toy vehicles.
>>11657404Having figures with no vehicles only really works with capeshit. Other lines absolutely need vehicles to complete the package.
>>11657419Most people who GI Joe Classified don't have vehicles.
lot of news today for FNAF toyswaves 3 confirmed
So do none of the Toy Chicas come with the black eyed beakless face? Seems like a major missed opportunity since that is her attack animation and coolest look.

So on a whim, i typed in action figures into amazon. the 4 of the first 5 figures are t13. Action figure is now dominated by 3d printed slop. discuss
>>11656727Speaking as a big fan of 3D printing (albeit resin in my case) it's really annoying seeing this crap absolutely everywhere- even aside from it forcing out actually worthwhile booths from fairs, conventions etc, it's disappointing that the public perception of 3D printing is becoming "crappy plastic noodle dragons sold for a massive profit" given how much cool stuff you can do with them.I kinda wanna make a fully poseable (as in, actually poseable, not flexi-bullshit) printable dragon. Need to figure out how to use that pirated copy of Zbrush I have; Blender is really good, and for the actual engineering side of things it's definitely my go-to but for complex sculpting Zbrush is hard to beat. Or it would be if the UI wasn't absolute toilet.
>>11657234The fuck do you mean pirated? Zbrush is free
>>11657293...It is? I thought it had a stupidly high subscription fee.
>>11657358It does, he's probably thinking of Blender. As of this year ZBrush's developer even discontinued the free Core Mini version, which was too limited to be worth trying anyway.
>>11657234Yeah it's a shame. A lot of AI garbage and Creative commons Nintendo shit from the cons I've scouted. I would love to table at a con or craft fair but I feel these shitters with a Ender 3 and a Printables account have kinda ruined it for most of us.

retards don’t understand they’re retards. making a Barbie that’s tarded like them means nothing to them.it’s entirely for dipshit white leftists who think making a tarded Barbie or a fat Barbie is “inclusive”

>>11647582I wonder how it would go with those legs on a regular Barbie.

I'm really enjoying Hiya's 1/18 figures, but they have got to make the hair out of softer plastic; it's so annoyingly limiting for neck articulation.
>>11656261Ive got a few of the hiya joes pre-ordered(alley, range and spirit). This alley viper especially looks nice. Im not a big fan of the classified look for some of the figures but these 3 look great. I have like 18 POC alley vipers so this guy will be my leader. I hope they knock Night Viper out of the park as well. He is my favorite specialized viper. Wish hydro-viper would get some love by the classified line so we would get a hiya version.
>>11656393Wasn't Hydro-Viper on, or speculated to be, a leak list?

>>11655625Yeah, I saw that big post on facebook about how to prevent the Allosaurus armor breaks. It did look super tedious, so I might just skip it and buy a set of Dryptosaurus armor. The head will probably have some issues fitting the Allo, though. >>11655636All they've got for the small guys so far is Deinonychus, though I assume that the Cyberzoic dire wolf will also have armor. I think the Pachy also is confirmed to be getting armor for the cyberzoic variant, and it's pretty small.>>11655761I wanted to get his Compies, but they sold out too quickly.

what up with these chinese toy makers claiming their figure is 1/12 when they are 1/10
>>11654341I don't have the Abyss Knight, but isn't he fairly tall for a toy? At least I've seen comparisons next to some Revoltech and he towers over them.
>>11654335>No, it's just china who doesn't understand numbers, muchless scale.Marvel Legends collectors routinely call them 1:12 when they aren't.
>>11655449What country are Marvel Legends made in? Unless ML collectors boycott for a year or two Hasbro won't use a real scale. 6" is a made-up corpospeak term to cover for not having to actually consider scale for characters being smaller or larger.

Do you have figurines that you buy because you're a fan of Fomo or "for the future, in case I can't afford it later?"And every now and then, you remember that you have this toy, and it makes you feel better? For me it's some Lego and Sonic figures. - Sonic figures distribution is so bad that every non-standart character has a diamond rarity and skyrockets in price. I saw picrelated toy only once in my life and i knew for sure i won't open it because it's a true treasure to me (my fav game after Sonic3 is Sonic Heroes that has this toy as a main villain).- Lego - i just don't have that much space but i for sure know that it's better to have this set now than try to buy it later with it not being just expensive but having an expensive 20-30-40 eur shipping as well.Do you have such examples? Please tell! (i will show more of my stuff later in this thread)
Found him at Walmart
>>11647529>>11647514>Why would i buy a toy if i'm ok with not owning it.>the whole concept of selling stuff i actually wanted to buy is alien to meI have used open toys I ended up with as lot wins that I have no real use for.I also ended up buying things which I couldn't return and got stuck with. Some of these are factory sealed items and I will probably try to unload most of those.>>11647439>you forgot you ownedI've forgotten I own something and bought a second one by mistake, that's about it. I need to go through and clear this stuff, which is one reason why I haven't been buying much recently.
>OP starts thread to have a subtle brag circlejerk about “muh valuable eBay collectibles xD”I don’t collect sonic shit so I am not biased at all but OP is likely a retard and/or ESL
>>11653400Cool figure but I think I prefer the paint differences that the Marshalls/Burlington rerelease had over this new one
My Walmart recently exploded with new Jakks stuff. I managed to find a Metal Virus Sonic, a Streets of Rage Roo, and an Altered Beast Weredragon.
Was this originally by one of you?
>>11656066probably one of those namefags, I recall one who collects exclusively figma and figuarts
>>11656066I want a Yotsuba figmoe :(
It's actually nuts how cool this thing is. The stereoscopic 3D is really impressive, and a lot of the reels based on cartoons and movies have some exclusive art not found anywhere else. Any collectors? What's the rarest or weirdest reels out there?
>>11655209I have one of the original models for these where it was marketed to adults as well.
>>11655549>Porno on a view masterNow you have my attention.
Many pics on these reels are one-offs, if they all get destroyed it will be lost media unless someone make good scans. How do you even scan these?
>>11656659Just use a regular scanner. There were actually flatbed scanners for a while that had slots for 35mm slides. But yeah, just a scanner at a very high dpi would be enough.
I was just indulging in some nostalgia 3D viewmaster gazing while suddenly I see the sillouhette of an ant walking over the picture. It was kind of terrifying. The actual bug is probably very small but it looked bigger on the View-Master lens.Gotta wash those old reels. Or maybe the bug was on the inside of the visor. I shaked the viewmaster just in case. Gotta clean it too. Haven't used it in decades
For me I exclusively collect domestic live action capeshit figures
>>11654238Good topic idea. Made me consider the current state of my overall collection. Most of my collections are kind of complete at this point and it's a good thing since I'm pretty much out of space. I don't buy a toy without getting rid of one these days. Nice way to clear space, while also keeping down impulse buys.>Marvel (Done with MCU, done with comic characters except X-men)>DC (Between DCC/DCD and McFarlane, have 95% of the characters I want. Will keep an eye on the upcoming Mattel line)>Star Wars (Just need a few more BS figures. Keeping the collection small with my favorites from OT, PT, and the cartoons)>Dragon Ball (Just waiting on a few characters, mainly from Buu saga)>Digimon (Pretty much all we've got on the horizon is resins and bootlegs of those resins lately. Grim)>Naruto (Out of space, but would make some for more pre-shippuden versions)>One Piece (Only focusing on pre-timeskip)>General Anime (Too much to list with all the series I only have a few figures from)>Video Games (Old Player Select Neca figures, Persona 5, Nier, Kingdom Hearts, Fate)>Horror & Sci-Fi (Single shelf with characters/monsters from some of my favorites)
Transformers mostly. Like I think the only thing that comes close is Hot Wheels cars as a kid, and I think those might have been surpassed in number by robots at this point.
>>11654238A bit of everything. Marvel, Dragon Ball, DC, Pokemon and Kamen Rider. I only buy characters that I absolutely love.
>>11654238My collection when I was a kid:>Sylvanian families>1/12 dollhouse stuffMy collection now:>Sylvanian families>1/12 dollhouse stuff>figma>shf>revoltech>snail shell>sentinel>basically any figure from a show or manga I like that will fit with my dollhouse objects >sometimes transformersI just really like setting up scenes with my tiny furniture and such.
>>11654238Primarily collect Monster High dolls. I've also got a few statues of certain characters I love. Tried collecting action figures for a while but realized I'm not really into the small stuff so only have a handful left.
